Illusion back, lace appliqués, beading, a long train - Diane worked her magic without breaking a sweat! (PC: Brian Slawson Photography)

When it comes to a wedding dress, something you spend so much time and effort (and money) picking out, you want to trust alterations to someone who has seen it all and can do it all. You want P'Dia. Had to go in for several quick fittings as they worked through the stages of altering my intricate dress (shortening straps, tightening bust, taking up the bottom hem, adding a bustle - all while working around lace appliqués and beading!), and they were always so kind, and are just the nicest people to work with. Their shop itself is not necessarily glamorous, but it gets the job done right! Highly recommend! Note: parking can be difficult in that neighborhood so allow for extra time. And, they sometimes have a "window dog" in the shop. As someone who is highly allergic to dogs though, I never once had symptoms or saw a single dog hair about and in fact, barely even noticed it was there. (But if you're a dog lover: bonus!)

Diane and Perry were SUCH a pleasure to work with! They altered my wedding dress for me and it turned out PERFECTLY. The timeline they gave worked well, it was easy to get appointments that worked for me, and everything turned out wonderfully! Diane gave me such an easy bustle which I LOVED! It did end up tearing at the end of the night when it got stepped on, but overall with it only being 3 buttons and ties and so easy to do up, I'll take it!

Our son was recently married, and as the mother of the groom I wasn't going to take any chances on the alteration of my dress. To complicate matters, we live in a small community about 5 hours north of Milwaukee, and the one and only seamstress in the area was taking a hiatus. With less than a month before the wedding I made the decision to find a seamstress in Milwaukee that I could meet with, then leave my dress there and pick up when I returned, just days before the wedding. A little nerve racking if there had been a problem with it. I chose P'Dia based on the proximity to our wedding accommodations and her 5 star reviews and I'm SO happy that I did - the absolute best decision! Diane and her husband are exceptional people in every sense, and man can that woman sew! I was bring the dress in for a hem, but as soon as I put it on, she immediately picked up on the fact that the shoulders needed a fix. I guess I knew that, but didn't think that sort of reconstruction was possible in such a short amount of time. She pinned it up and assured me everything would be ready by my pick-up date. Three weeks later, I was back in town, I called before stopping in and Paul said, yes - the dress is ready for pick-up. I once again tried the dress on and it was perfect, well near perfect. There was still a little gapping at the front of my arm pits. Diane says, no worries, she pulls out her trusty pins, takes a couple of tucks, I slipped the dress off, she ran two additional darts for me, had it pressed and back on me in the time it would have taken me to change the thread in my machine. The dress fit like a glove! I let my son and his new bride know that they now have a go-to seamstress in Milwaukee, no worrying and wondering about the quality of her work, and now I'm telling all of you.

Overall my experience was generally very good. I finally got my wedding dress months after ordering of course, but had to leave for a long work trip soon and they managed to get my first fitting in before I left a few days later which was great. The actual alterations also turned out really well. Diane did a great job taking in the waist and hips and even some of the illusion lace at the back where it was gapping without any noticeable seams or anything. The bustle also ended up looking great but it caused some trouble. Now for the one star deduction- we scheduled my pick up for Thursday evening 6pm since I was leaving for my wedding Friday morning. We'd already had one fitting about bustling but decided it needed to be taken up more. First they called earlier in the day asking if I could come at 6:30 instead which was totally fine. When I arrived though the whole family was there waiting to go out to a birthday dinner which made me feel like I was holding them up even though it was not my request to push the time back! Then at that fitting it became clear the bustle still wasn't right so Diane had to do a really quick fix so I could pick it up the next morning before I left. It ended up looking great and they got it done early in the morning, but it's a stressful time to have multiple fittings and add more errands to do the day before the wedding. That aside though I would definitely still recommend any bride I know to come here because the end result was great.

Diane and Perry are such a wonderful couple and work together so well! Diane was very nice and made me feel comfortable in my wedding dress, even with all of the layers and design that my dress had! I felt so beautiful on my wedding day :)

While their alterations craft should be enough, Perry and Diane are also kind, warm people to be around.

I chose this seamstress for my wedding dress alterations because someone recommended her services,…read morebut unfortunately my experience was extremely disappointing. The alterations ended up being taken a little too far and it lays weirdly on the sides (puckering etc), and when I received my dress back, it had visible dirt/stains on the back of the dress that were not there when I brought it in. My dress was brand new when I dropped it off, and when I expressed concern, I was told that it came that way/she didn't know what happened, which was frustrating because that simply was not true. I now have to spend additional time and money getting my wedding dress professionally cleaned myself, and no discount or effort was made to make the situation right. Communication throughout the entire process was also unclear. I was never given a firm completion date, which created unnecessary stress during an already stressful time leading up to a wedding. Wedding dress alterations are expensive, and for the amount I paid, I expected much more care, accountability, and communication. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed with the overall experience. While she was kind personally, I would not return and would not recommend her services.

Worst experience ever. I brought my $4.5k wedding dress to her for a hem, french bustle and to sew…read moreon some off the shoulder sleeves. First of all the bustle and sleeves were sewed on showing the stitching ON THE OUTSIDE. One of the sleeves popped off after immediately trying it on and I have to remove them and resew them on myself so you couldn't see stitching on the outside.... That's not even the worst of it. It was covered in makeup, she was the only one to lace it up for me and she blamed me yet I don't wear that color of make up.. I'm olive skin toned and this make up was peach/orange. I had to get it professionally cleaned. And now the worst of it... Katherine took IN my corset, though it was already too small at the time, and only did it on one side so it was UNEVEN and WAY TOO SMALL. She told me to "eat salads" when I brought to her attention.... I had to let out where she took it in. The sewing was amateur level. I did a better job fixing/sewing it a week before my wedding. AVOID THIS PLACE - so not worth it worst $350 I ever spent and I know she'll fight me on a refund. She was so unhelpful/rude when I follow up texted her when I noticed all the damage and botched work to my gorgeous dress.
