On my third time, I received a seemingly nice gel manicure that unfortunately chipped after one day. This was my third visit in three months. I was out of town for almost a week and could not go back to salon straightaway. When I returned, they said it had been one week and they would not repair. Instead, they invited me to 'pick a color' and pretended this was not an issue. **Bye-bye HYDE PARK NAILS & SPA! AS CONSUMERS WE KNOW: 1) Gel manicures & pedicures should last at least two weeks or more. 2) Sterilized tools need to be used for each new client. On all three visits I had to ask for autoclaved tools (BIG red flag) 3) We want to feel well taken care of and that salon owners value our support and repeat business. I had a gel manicure done and it didn't even last a week before the paint chipped and it looked awful when I had to serve tables a night after getting a fresh GEL manicure and they chip on the second day? I've never experienced that before. So in total I spent 107 not including the 20% tip I gave him and it wasn't worth the time out my day off to have them fix it and just have it look like ass the next day. Someone commented about her discontent over frequent owner changes. I've been going here for eight years and have seen two owner changes. A bought from JW. Honestly I was about to give up then but decided to give it another try. I'm very glad I did because KT and Eddie, the present owners are wonderful. I have never been disappointed in any part of my visit. They are always friendly, kind, respectful and thoughtful. They are always accommodating and the work is always outstanding and long lasting. There are two large televisions with easy to read closed captions, lovely soothing music and often pleasant conversation. Manicures and pedicures always include a great massage. I haven't tried waxes and other services but I haven't heard any complaints either. I am very happy to travel the 45 minutes. read more

I have been to dozens of nail salons and I find myself consistently returning to HP Nails. The ANC lasts the longest without cracking, and I am tough on my nails (everything from doing dishes to riding dirtbikes!) Always clean and friendly and a vast assortment of colors. Worst gel manicure I have ever had. Super rushed experience, my nails did not get prepped before the gel polish was applied. Nail polish completely see through, looks like I did it myself. Went for a pedicure and unfortunately did not have a good experience. We felt rushed the moment we sat down, and the pedicure lasted approx. 20 minutes. I had a French Gel Manicure at another salon in the same mall and the whole piece of gel polish literally came off several nails. Was so disappointed since this was the first time I decided to treat myself to a French Manicure since the Pandemic started. But Scarlett happened to be sitting outside HPNS and I asked if she could remove the French Gel. She said yes and I decided to also have the French Gel Manicure redone. Scarlett did a terrific job! Went in this morning for gel removal & regular nail polish. Got there at promptly at their opening time of 9:30, as I needed to ideally get in and out. They sat me right away.....and sit I did. A woman set up two people for pedicures. I sat and stared into space while 4 - FOUR - employees chatted and slowly folded towels. The woman who set up the pedicures was vaguely wandering around. I was completely ignored and no one showed any signs of moving toward me. I would have at least thought they would set me up to soak the gels off and return to their idle towel folding but nope. Just sat their wasting my time. At 9:45 I was utterly fed up and got up and walked out. I had been going here twice / month since moving to Hyde Park but that was completely inexcusable. Never going back, there are offhand at least 3 other decent salons within a 5 mile radius. read more

Currently in the middle of my second visit here and it will be my last. The first time was with a bridal party and while they did a good job, we were all waiting quite a while. Figured I'd give them another shot but I've been sitting with my feet in the water, waiting for my pedicure to start for almost a half hour. I make an appointment for 4 pedicures they sit us all and start 3 of our pedicures leave one daughter soaking. Half way through one of our pedicures she stops walks away and leaves one pedicure in the middle and goes to someone else. For 45 minutes my daughter has been left sitting here . I had my acrylic nails done with gel polish and a protective coating of gel year one time. I had to go back to have my thumb redone because the whole thing just came off leaving fungus on my nail. Got a powder manicure that the girl rushed through. It was uneven and horribly shaped with some of my nails being different lengths. They started lifting after less than a week and when I called the owner she told me they would "fix" them. I didn't want to waste my time with the powder because it so bad the first time so when I went back I told them what happened and asked them to just remove them. At the end of it they charged me!!!!! Because instead of redoing the powder I had them take them off and that's "different" not "fixed". End of rant, but just Incase you were thinking about coming here you should rethink it. read more

I don't even want to give them 1 star. I'm a mom and needed a little me time so I went in for ANC and I have never had such a bad experience in my life. All of my nails are bumpy and uneven. One pointer finger nail is skinny and thin and my other one he made really chunky and fat. It looks awful. None of my nails are smooth like they should be. It hasn't even been 1 hour and I'm going to Cvs to buy acetone to remove it all. I asked for SQUARE nails and the guy gave me rounded nails. It was also $35 for a crap job. I asked if I could leave a tip on my card and she said yes, but then all of a sudden when i went to pay she said "yea sorry but no tip on credit card." I'm tempted to go ask for a refund because it's atrocious. read more

Jenny and her team are awesome! I've been coming to her on and off for about 5 years and she remembers me every time! They are a super clean, super friendly spa and are really attentive to their customers! I've seen some reviews about wait times and although it may happen, when it's your turn you understand why! They pay attention to detail, give you EXACTLY what you want, and change it all up if you ask them to! I would recommend Hyde Park nail spa to anyone looking for a spa that meets your EVERY need. I went on 9/28/17 to have tips and ANC for my daughter's wedding. I've never had tips before nor ANC. I made an appointment and The service was great and my nails still look fantastic 17 days later! They still have shine and no chips at all. I was very careful with them for the first few days because I wanted to make sure they stayed nice for the wedding, but my hands have been in a lot of water and I've even washed dishes. I've been here multiple times and they are extremely sweet but the service does not last. My friends and I get the powder gel and it chips within two days of getting it and the rest have cracks all over. The prices are starting to get ridiculous for the manicure to last two days. For the amount of Marist students that go here they need to start offering student discounts. I will not go back to this place. They need to learn how to do the powder gel so that it lasts the full two weeks. I have 5/10 nails left on from one week ago. read more

Would not recommend this place at all. Went for my first manicure in a long time and watched one of the female workers, the woman who did my nails, laugh in the face of a woman who came in with her infant child as she told her no one would be able to help her for quiet some time. As the mother walked out of the salon upset the female worker laughed about the situation with her co-workers. She was less than friendly to me and also beyond rushed my simple 1 color manicure, which I am very unhappy with. The color is evidently too thick and uneven, and after sitting under the dryers many nails have large, noticeable black looking air bubbles. For $10 I should have expected such poor service and professionalism, but for such a simple task it was beyond poorly executed and they should be ashamed of their establishment! read more

Friendly service and good quality work. I've always been greeted each time I go in. The owner (I assume) always remembers me and asks how things have been. Definitely like relaxing in the pedicure chairs, and usually splurge on an extra cost pedicure to get the 15 minute leg massage. It's always nice too, once you hit the drying table they come and rub your shoulders and neck for a minute or too. that's a nice touch. I'm going to look into the massage services they offer, I'm sure they would be completely relaxing! read more

I was not greeted by anyone when I walked in the door, so Hyde Park Nail & Spa could stand to improve in that area. My nail tech was very sweet and competent, although she was a bit rougher my toes than I would have liked. Overall, however, this business provides a good value, considering that the basic pedicure comes with a scrub, massage, and paraffin for the heels. That, combined with a basic gel manicure, came to the same price as a french gel manicure at other, "higher-end" places. read more

This place was horrible.... they did not push back my cuticles. They spent 15 minutes on dip powder which nice dip powder would've been 45 minutes. They demand it a tip and if you gave them cash did not give you change because that was their cash. When I want to go get cash a.k.a. leave because they were so bad and I did not want to tip they demanded I tipped before I left. I gave this place a try before Christmas and the ladies here were really nice and super friendly, they gave me body lotion as a Christmas gift and I thought that was really generous. I liked my acrylic nail set I got done that day but they were rushing on everybody. I went for a fill and pedi and mani/pedi for my 5 year-old niece. They were great with the mani/pedi for my niece but my fill is HORRIBLE and my pedi is too. On my nails, there was polish all over my cuticles and I politely asked the technician to fix it 3 times and all she did was jab me in the cuticle with her finger nails trying to scrape it off. The acrylic is jagged all around the tips and lumpy. It is truly the worst fill I have ever had. My nails looked better before I went in. She barely even did a pedicure. She soaked my feet, slapped lotion on my legs and feet, and sloppy polish. I mentioned it to the lady who seemed to be the manager quietly because I didn't want to ruin the experience for my niece. I specifically signed up for Yelp to share how truly disappointed I am. The staff is pushy and seems to rush through your manicure and pedicures. Today I came with 2 of my girlfriend to relax and get pedicures, the salon was fairly empty and we had asked if we could please wait so we could sit together so we could talk. They ignored our request and separated us (2 went first and one was made wait). Once 2 were sat they rushed through our pedicures and didn't even give my one friend a foot scrub which is the reason she even comes.
