For me, the regular sweet tea would have been a little too sweet. The BBQ was really, really good! They barbecue butts, as opposed to whole hog. The sides were solid, but not exceptional. The best side I tasted was the slaw and it was above average, while the beans were very average. The BBQ sandwich (a true test marker) with slaw - excellent. There were three people at our table and our total bill was only $52. The servers were excellent and about as nice as you could encounter. Just good southern hospitality. Lastly, the building/business is a South Carolina Certified Heritage Site. It's been around a long time and you feel you have stepped back in time. Stanton's has served a lot of people over the years. The restaurant looked to be built onto the home on the property. There is plenty of parking, and an airstrip across the street. People fly in almost every day to have lunch and we were fortunate to see an arrival by air while we were there. The next time I'm in the area, I will stop in for some BBQ!
