It's a little difficult to find if you're not used to the area. You can get to the clinic by walking through the very busy and crowded Shopper's Drug Mart. Forewarning - some of the clientele is sketchy. Hold your purses close and hide your devices. I had someone who was clearly high lingering around seemingly stalking me. I walked into the clinic without an appointment and it was madness. The girl at the front desk was stressed while some ignorant man was yelling at her. Being an admin or receptionist is a thankless job at times. I don't know what people hope to achieve by yelling at staff. It just makes things worse for everyone else involved. I was advised the wait would be at least 1.5 hours. So I went next door to Shoppers and got an older prescription filled. That took way longer than it should have. I was told the wait would be 30 minutes but I waited over an hour. I'll be leaving a scathing review for Shoppers next. Once that was finished I wandered back into the clinic next door. Imagine my surprise that it was completely empty. The girl at the front desk managed to get me in with zero wait time and I was in and out of my appointment in less than 10 minutes. Since all my charts and files are kept at the clinic, whichever doctor I see has my history there, and my regular GP can access them next time I see her. The thing I love the most about this clinic is that it is also a walk in, and my doctor reserves a couple of walk in spots a day for her regular patients. When I have had need of walk in services, I've been able to call the clinic when it opens and often get a quick visit with my doctor. This has been a consistent pattern over several years, resulting in limited ability to reliably contact the clinic regarding patient care concerns. On the occasions I have reached "Pat" (office assistant), I have been told she is busy. However, when I attend the clinic in person she has not appeared to be occupied with patient related tasks and has instead been conversing with staff or not engaged in work at the front desk. I have spoken to other patients that attend this clinic and they have the same complaints and find it highly annoying. This creates a barrier to accessing care and communicating with the office. One day I waited 17 minutes on hold before someone was able to book an appointment for me. I also find that the clinic isn't really that clean or welcoming looking considering it is almost brand new. Perhaps that is the winter weather and all the mud and wet floors that comes along with it. Although it is quite easy to secure an appointment within the next day or so, I have had to wait both times I've been in; the first time for over an hour and the second time for half an hour. Not the most convenient when you've slipped out of work for the appointment. However, once in, the doctors seem to spend a good amount of time with you trying to pinpoint issues. The doctor even ran some tests while I was in the office so I didn't have to go to a lab and wait for the results.
