It feels really weird and almost wrong to give a car dealership five stars. I usually think of car dealerships as the awful place standing in the way of me and the car that I want. There'll be hours of waiting around, of negotiating, frustration before I threaten to walk out, and then somebody always loses. It's a process I dread. But this place is different. We went to Hyundai of Louisville after having a bad experience at another Hyundai dealership the previous evening. I was expecting more of the same, but Adam made the process easy and actually (dare I say it?) enjoyable. I told Adam how I much I was willing to pay, he said ok, I left with a car. This DOES NOT happen. It took me about five minutes to sign the agreement because it seemed way too easy. "Wait," I said, "we're supposed to negotiate more. You're supposed to tell me that's an unreasonable price and then we fight... what's the catch??" To Adam's credit, he did offer to crumble some papers and stomp away angrily if that would make me feel better. Even during the long process where the paperwork was being finalized, we weren't left alone to wonder what was going on. Someone was constantly coming over to update us and to sit and chat for a bit. We were also taken over to the service department to meet the service manager who was also incredibly welcoming and helpful. (Seriously what are they putting in the coffee here??) We left only a couple of hours later with a brand new car and a new way of thinking about car dealerships, as well as with some new friendships! About a week and a half ago, we drove 4 hours round trip with our four children to bring our van in for a repair. Before EVER scheduling the appointment, we specifically called and asked two very important questions: Is this repair covered under our warranty, and can Hyundai of Louisville perform the repair? We were told yes to both. We relied on that information when deciding to make the trip. Communication leading up to and during the process was extremely poor. It took multiple phone calls to get ahold of anyone, and much of the communication was eventually done through text. After dropping the van off, we were told the next day that it was, in fact, the lifter issue we had already told them about -- but suddenly we were told they couldn't perform the repair. We were also told at that point that they didn't even know whether it would be covered under warranty. We explained that we live two hours away and were understandably frustrated that we had made the entire trip based on information their service department had given us. We were told there was a Chrysler dealership across the street and that they could take it there. Except our van then sat at Hyundai for six days before it was finally taken to Chrysler. During this entire process, we were not offered a rental vehicle, there was no real apology for the inconvenience, and we repeatedly had to chase them for updates. Once it was transferred to Chrysler, Hyundai essentially washed their hands of the situation and told us it was now Chrysler's problem and that they would be in contact with us. Chrysler then contacted us and explained that the only information they had received was essentially a sticky note with our name and phone number. They had no real background on the situation. They couldn't get to the van until the following week because, understandably, they are a busy dealership and we had never actually been scheduled with them. So now, after being without our van for two weeks, we are driving another 4 hours round trip tomorrow to pick it up- and the original problem still hasn't been fixed. We will now have to take it to a local Chrysler dealership and start over trying to figure out the warranty and repair. The most frustrating part is that all of this could have been avoided. We called Hyundai of Louisville BEFORE scheduling specifically to make sure they could handle this repair and that it would be covered under warranty. Had we been given accurate information from the beginning, we could have taken it to a local Chrysler dealership and saved ourselves multiple 4-hour round trips, gas money, time, childcare/family logistics, and an enormous amount of frustration. Things happen and sometimes dealerships can't perform certain repairs. That's not what I'm upset about. I'm upset that we were given incorrect information before making the appointment, and then once they realized they couldn't handle it, there was very little urgency, communication, or accountability. As a family of six, our van is our primary means of transportation. Being without it for two weeks because of a situation that could have been avoided with accurate information and basic communication has been incredibly frustrating. Unfortunately, the lack of professionalism, reliability, communication, and customer service throughout this experience has left a very bad impression. We genuinely wish we had spent our money on our family vehicle with a company that valued our business enough to be honest and accountable when we needed service. read more

The customer service in the service department needs improvement. There is a staff member at the service desk (Ms. A) who has been extremely short and dismissive during my interactions with her. I've had two separate experiences with her, and both times I left feeling unheard and uncomfortable. As a paying customer, I don't expect perfection, but I do expect to be treated with courtesy, respect, and professionalism. A welcoming attitude and good communication go a long way, especially in customer service. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so future customers have a better experience. read more

Had the weirdest experience with this dealership. I had an appointment to see a car out there with a salesman. He greeted me and then went to talk to someone. when he came back, he had the sales manager who stated he was sorry, but the car wasn't available because it was in the service department. He said someone had test driven it and heard a noise, and he didn't know the status of the car at this point. He apologized because no one had notified me. I had come 18 miles all the way out Dixie Highway! I said since I'm here can you look at my car now in case the other car checks out, and I might want to look at it. He did, gave me a written proposal, and said he would call me the next day to let me know about the condition of the car. He never contacted me again nor did the salesman. I even wrote a follow up email to the salesman, Jacobi, because I didn't have the name of the sales manager, stating my disappointment in their lack of honesty and transparency. Guess what. He never answered. I thought they had probably sold the car the night before and lied about the car being in service, but The strange thing is, the car is still listed on their website. 129 days ago, my car was towed to this location for minor body work. About 115 days later, they call to tell us it is finished. There had been a total of 4 other times they had initiated contact in order to communicate the status of our car, never with a timeline of when it would be finished. Meanwhile, we have had to call repeatedly and email to track down any kind of update. Upon arrival, the car is found to be filthy. There are parts of the vehicle missing and parts that have more damage than when it was towed to the facility. The paint job that was presented by the dealership as quality, look to be done by an amateur. Between 11/24/25 and 12/13, there was only one unsolicited attempt from the dealership to contact us. On 12/19, ready to pick up the vehicle, we find that there is white paint speckle on the black rim and tire. After an email thread with the GM, who does not live in the state and only visits about once a month (according to his staff) stated that the repairs where ' completely acceptable repair.' The GM's emails were clearly written to get this situation to end, never an apology DO NOT USE THEM. read more

First ... they took my car apart with their "12 pt inspection" digging for things to repair other than the oil change. I found a piece of my glove box lying on the floorboard and the hinge undone. I had to put my glovebox back together. No big deal, right? Oh ... but that was only the beginning. Shortly after my oil change, my oil pressure sensor kept coming on and then next I knew, a major oil leak sprung. I shouldn't have a major oil leak with less than 55k mileage. Now I am going to have to take it somewhere else to have them fix whatever it is that Hyundai of Louisville did. I asked them who their liability insurance company is and was told "I cant release that information to you". They asked me to bring the car back to them to inspect to determine "if" they are at fault. Are you serious??? The icing on the cake? I have a mess to clean up in my garage when this is all over. I put a deposit on a jeep they had there to hold it till i could look at it. well, that was a waste of time. I got to the dealership and had to wait 20 min to even get to talk to someone or get to see the jeep I had been inquiring about. Then, we looked at the car and quite a few things caught my eye. One, the back was missing the original layout panel, and under there was no pump or anything; blank. When I asked if I could get something in place of that, I was told no, it would be costly...even just jumper cables. It was also missing floor mats. When I asked for those as well, he said it would be costly, I said no..A car needs to come with floor mats. He took some from another car and said he'd have to decrease the other car price by 200 now..Two, car was smoke in. You could smell it evidently, and that lowers the price of the car, which of course, they didn't. Three, the hood area had oil dripped and everywhere. When we asked about it they tried to accuse my father, who's a mechanic, of making the mess, and tried to deny it was oil even though you could plainly see it. The boss, Justin, was like it's not oil, it's clear coat. One of the salesguys even touched it then licked it to taste... Gross. When I pointed out it was brown, Justin goes, I guess it is oil....Forth, we go inside to talk price. Justin says he doesn't want to budge because he has two people "ask about the jeep this weekend"...Then when I went on a rant of how everyone wants to negotiate, he was willing to somewhat drop the price. If I could give Hyundai of Louisville negative stars I would. My 2017 Hyundai Elantra needed a repair, a very expensive repair, I was told two options by the man behind the counter. One was a 70% chance that it would fix my issues and the other was charging me $8000+ for a whole new engine. Because I was told there was a 70% chance I took the cheaper option. Well low and behold I got the repair done and was told the car drives great and they tested the vehicle. As soon as I drove it a quarter of a mile away from the dealership the light that I was told was repaired came back on. So I, feeling jilted and lied to, went back to the dealership and voiced my frustration. I was then told that 'we told you it wasn't a "fix" just a chance" Then the percentage chance I was given that influenced the choice I made magically went from 70% to a 50 50 shot. I asked them how they are going to make it right and rectify the issue as I was told one thing versus an other in matter of days. Hyundai's response was to tell me, and quote, "We can talk to the man who quoted you tomorrow and see what he said". To me, as someone who dropped a ton of money, being told that my word isn't worth as much as what I was told makes me revolted, upset, and downright betrayed. The icing on top of the whole charade is that once I did bring it back, they checked it again, and proceeded to try and sell me another part to fix the same code that I was under the impression of that was fixed. If you value your money, if you want honesty, if you want clarity in the decisions you make with your vehicle and your future do not buy or deal with this dealership. This dealership promises a lot but has sub par mechanics and does fraudulent work. They were told to put an engine in my car. The warranty company told them to put a new/rebuild OEM engine in my car. They put a used engine from Bresslers that had 122,000 miles on it. It has broke down so many times and had to be taken in so many times for repairs. It was supposed to have a 12/12 warranty on it per the warranty company. It only has a six month warranty per Hyundai of Louisville. I'm not even up with the six month and the car is not running and they are refusing to repair it. They want me to take it somewhere else and have it repaired under the six-month warranty from Bresslers. it only pays $55 an hour to the mechanic and I don't know of any mechanic that works that cheap. Which means I would have to pay the rest out of my pocket and I would not have no loaner vehicle in the meanwhile. I told them I wanted them to do it and they have absolutely refused. If you're thinking of buying a car from here, don't these cars are trash. They break down constantly and their repair people don't know what to do with them so so they throw Band-Aids at them basically until they bleed out. read more

I took my Hyundai Kona EV 2019 to them because a waning was showing on the dash - Check Electric Vehicle System. I had an appointment and dropped my car off the night before. It is now 22 days later and they have not started work on my car and continually claim that they are waiting on the "Tech Line" to tell them whether my still-under-warranty car is still under warranty and to authorize the repair. I went to this dealer because the Oxmoor Hyundai told me they could not see me for several months because they are so backed up, so there are no other repair options near me. Also, note that Hyundai of Louisville do not communicate at all. The only info Ihave gotten has been when I called them and continued calling until I got to talk to someone in the service department. Purchased a used vehicle from them, when I test drove it I noticed one of the electric side mirrors didn't work and was lead to believe they would take care of it. Not 10 miles away driving home 2 hours it started making an awful clunky sound in the rear. I reached out to them and was given the "I spoke to my manager and he said the mirror can be fixed with an Allen wrench and the sound is normal because it has aftermarket suspension". I explained it's not normal, it doesn't have aftermarket suspension, and the mirror can't be fixed the motor is burnt out. I contacted their "warranty department" which is a number to another dealership in NW Ohio. Lady answered the phone and said there was no "warranty department" which is clearly on the paperwork. A few days later finance manager reached out to me with something unrelated and he said he would look into it as well. That's been a week and now I have a $25k vehicle sitting in the driveway that I can not drive and waiting on a local dealer appointment I had to book two weeks out to take care of the issues myself. Very disappointed in how they treat customers not a few hours after a sale. I would read the fine print on what u sign and don't believe word of mouth what your sales rep tells you. Website also leads you to believe they spend 2xs longer going over vehicles before selling them than other dealers. After hours of poking around trying to figure out where this awful noise is coming from I can in fact tell you they do not. There are tons of half bolts with fresh saw blade marks coming out of the frame and exhaust heat shields that are hanging by just one rusted out bolt just to name a few. Prior to driving a few hours down I asked them to send me a copy of their warranty info since it's not on the website and I was told they do not have one to send me and they would just go over it when I get there which was a red flag right there, shame on me for falling for the used car dealership smoke and mirrors routine and going against my instincts because they had the exact vehicle I wanted. read more

This is the most unprofessional dealership I've ever done business with. They're absolutely awful. Inconsiderate communication, unprofessional staff, and their technician/mechanic team is not trustworthy at all (they've missed all kinds of consequential things with my vehicle--things that easily could have been prevented but that they "missed"). I've had to take my vehicle back to them so that they could tighten screws from a previous repair that they messed up. They promise to keep you updated on the status of your vehicle then neglect to call you at all, leaving me stranded without a vehicle (happened to me multiple times). On June 26th absolutely NOTHING had been done: no pictures to insurance, no estimate, no repairs. The insurance company authorized a second tow to get my car taken to another repair center I found that could do the work. During those 6.5 weeks, both the insurance company and I got the runaround. Took my Genesis there 3 times to get fixed for the same issue. All three times I was told it was something different wrong with it to fix that issue. The issue still exist to this day. Last time I took it in they said again they know what the issue is except I will have to come out of pocket for it because my vehicle is 6 mos out of warranty. Funny how that seemed to work, all of a sudden. Now they figured it out when it's out of warranty. Crazy part is 2 different times they were trying to diagnose the radiator/ AC issue and afterwards told me it was good, I picked my car up and on the drive home it over heated because they forgot to put antifreeze back in it. Had to get it towed back to them because the thermostat went out due to their neglegence and they didn't even offer me a car to use or pay for the tow know it was there mistake. Not done yet. After I went to pick it up a second time due to the car over heating and getting a new thermostat, I picked it up again but this time I did check to make sure they put antifreeze in it and guess what???? It was empty again. These guys are the professionals and I should be able to pick my car up in a better state than what it was when I dropped it off especially if the work has been done. Chauncey the shop manager and his Boss whos name I do not recall have very bad custom service and low integrity. Me or anyone I know will ever go there to shop or get work done. I purchased a new Tucson from this dealership in 2021 and the staff were unprofessional, deceptive and kept me at their dealership for 3/4 days taking forever to complete business that they do everyday. They charged me more for the car than was agreed upon, also a discount I was due they did a bait and switch by charging me amysterious dealer fee for the same amount as the discount.. The finance guys charged me for extra warranties and services that I didn't want, even wh I said no they still pushed me until I agreed. I asked them to refund the money to me, even filled out the forms needed. The purchase contracts were tore up and written up again (3 separate times) deleting minor services but still adding in two warranties. I had no copy to compare pricing and doubt they were honest when rewriting the paperwork. I no longer have the Tucson, I sold it and still 2 years later haven't received the larger amount due to me, over $1000.00 for the cancelled warranty. I came in here with my Hyundai Santa Fe that was having problem with the AC and the wiper fluid. Brought my car in bright and early in the morning so that they could start working on it right away. When they finally call me over 4 1/2 hrs LATER they tell me they are waiting for parts that won't get in until tomorrow. When I ask if anything was done they told me no because they were waiting for the parts. I sat in their waiting area for almost 5 hours to have nothing happen to my car. On top of that, when I go to leave the front part of my rubber tire guard wasn't screwed back on, so when I drove away it was rubbing against the tire and flopping around loosely while I was driving. I went in to get my car fixed and instead I left with it in worse condition then when I brought it in. Look elsewhere if you plan on getting your Hyundai fixed. read more

First let me start off by saying if I could give less than one star I would. My issues started when I needed service on my car due to engine failure. I was scheduled an appointment for 2/09/2023, I dropped the vehicle off on 2/07/2023 with 129,036 miles on it to ensure they had the vehicle when needed. Then 02/09/2023 comes and goes and I don't hear anything in regards to my vehicle. Next a week goes by and I still hear nothing in regards to my vehicle. I called the store multiple times and left messages for the service department and never got a call back. After 2 weeks go by without hearing anything about my car I contact the corporate office and they assign me a case manager and I finally start getting information. At that time my car still has not been looked at but was in line to be looked at. Time passes then I hear back from the case manager that they have an engine on order and when it is scheduled to be in. By this time a whole month has gone by and I was just getting information about my vehicle. My wife and I were sharing rides with each other to get to work due to not knowing for the first month any information regardless of how many times I called. Once a case worker got involved I started having some sort of communication. Fast forward to 3/28/2023 I received an email regarding my vehicle being completed. My wife and I make arrangements to pick up our vehicle they did their inspection and stated that I needed the transmission fluid changed and the rotors turned and brakes replaced. I opted for them to change the transmission fluid but not the brakes. They also said that after the engine replacement I would need need drive belts and a new air filter. I picked the vehicle up and was not directed or told anything about the sticker with the mileage on the car when the engine was replaced, I was not told if it was a whole new engine, if it was a used engine, or if they just rebuilt the engine with new parts replacing the old parts. I paid for the transmission flush got in my vehicle and drove off. 27 miles into my drive the check engine light comes on the car has felt and sounded really badly and not like a car that just had an engine replaced, so I pull into the driveway and park the vehicle. After this I called the store multiple times and left messages to not get any calls back, I also emailed the email address that was listed on the front of my paperwork, with no answers. Finally after multiple daily calls I was able to actually reach a person and was told to bring my car in on 4/20/2023. I took the car in and left it with them. Since then I called a few times to inquire about my vehicle and got no answer. Then yesterday I receive a text message telling me that my vehicle has been inspected and it needs a new oxygen sensor and new catalytic converters due to failure, They also included the prices for these services but never contacted me to talk about what was wrong, how it happened or any details just a message asking if I approve the services or not. I didn't have the chance to inquire if the previous engine failure could have led to either one of these issues happening. Just a message that felt like it was asking am I paying for this or not. I am no mechanic or not but could a catastrophic engine failure cause other issues and if it does, are those things not covered under warranty? One of the main things that has aggravated me other than the lack of communication is the fact that I drove my car less than 30 miles after service and have multiple codes and then being expected to pay $200 for diagnostics when I feel that these issues should have been caught and/or noticed in the 2 months my car was in the service department not in the 30 minutes of me picking my car up after service and and inspection was said to have been completed. I came to find out from a third party mechanic that I had a huge hole in the bottom of my catalytic converter that he suspected not happen naturally nor was it caught when they changed the transmission fluid. But the third party mechanic brought me right to see the hole and with the car on the lift it was plain as day. The RO# is 198322 for reference and with this review I would say if you have the chance or ability to take your vehicle elsewhere I would. Fast forward to me being at 129344 which is a little over 300 miles after having the transmission fluid changed I now have a transmission leak. read more

Between 3 and 4 stars; overall, pretty good for a car dealership although I tend to start with pretty low expectations of car dealers. Location: Grr, I hate Dixie Highway. They are not all that far from the Watterson but the stop-and-go traffic of Dixie with the random cars turning across the raised median makes it an aggravating drive. On the upside, there is a turn signal at the entrance to Lowe's that will get you to the dealership. Service: Good. Fast turnaround time, seemingly competent mechanics. Good front-of-house service and clearly written billing. No problems with them performing work without specific approval for anything that will cost money (i.e. non-warranty work). Cars: I'm a Hyundai fan and have been very happy with my car (4 years of owning it, purchased out of state though, not from here). They have the full selection of models and the newer Genesis sedan or coupe is a gorgeous higher end car (bells and whistles!) that drives very nicely. I can't comment on the negotiations/car buying aspect of this dealer but the salesmen don't seem too sketchy or anything. read more

Advertised prices are extremely misleading, so don't even bother walking in unless you've negotiated beforehand online. Service is a joke, and will intentionally misdiagnose your car in order to charge you hundreds of dollars extra. I remember I was in for an oil change and some brake work in July of 2011 and I was just looking around and fell in love with my now, new 2011 Tucson. Not a great experience - we bought a used car which we are happy with, but the sloppy paperwork and questionable finance deal ended up costing me additional $$. I've filed a BBB complaint, but recommend reading all paperwork carefully prior to signing. Do not trust what they tell you. read more

I have a Hyundai Sonata and have been taking my car to the Dixie Hwy dealership for oil changes and recalls for the past 5 years and have always been pleased with the service. The oil changes are priced at about the cost of the supplies and they have it done typically within an hour. The staff are friendly and helpful. I have had to take my car for multiple recalls and again the folks are always professional and efficient in getting my car inspected and repaired if needed. They do try and sell me additional services (preventative mostly) but I just politely decline if I think it is not needed. It is easy to make online appointments and they send email and or text message reminders. They have a nice waiting room in the showroom with coffee and there have been times when it is going to be longer than an hour and they have brought me back home so I don't have to wait in the shop for the repair to be done. I did not buy my car from them but for service I would recommend. read more

I will start off by saying I DID NOT buy my car at Hyundai of Louisville so I can not comment on the sales department, but the service department customer service is the worst. I bought my 2016 Hyundai Tucson at Byerly Ford on Dixie Highway (great salesman). The AC wasn't working great so Byerly took it down to Hyundai because my car is still under warranty. It was dropped off on Wednesday (without and appt) on Thursday my Salesman called to check the status. He had to leave several messages. The service Dept called him back and told him it wasn't ready yet. Now this is after calling Wednesday evening, Thursday morning. Finally my salesman got ahold of the Service manager and he assured him my car would be looked at first thing Friday morning. Come Friday afternoon and my car is still not ready. I understand the car was dropped off without an appt but they have had the car for 3 days. I decided I would call the service Dept since I am the customer I thought maybe I would be able to find out what was going on. I left a message for Tasha who was in charge for the day. She called me back and right off the bat the tone in her voice I could tell how the phone call was going to go. RUDE! She informed me that Byerly just dropped the car off with out an appt and they are busy. I understand that but again it's been there 3 days and the SERVICE MANAGER assured my salesman that the car would be looked at first thing. Tasha then informs me that I am not their only customer so I shouldn't expect to be pushed to first in line. At this point my car hasn't even been looked at and she has me 3rd in line for Monday morning. If Tasha is supposed to be your service Dept customer rep don't you think she should be a little more customer friendly? I am a small business owner and I can tell you if one of my employees spoke to one of my customers the way Tasha spoke to me they would be fired on the spot! Customer service should be their priority! Remember your customers are the ones that pay your pay check. read more

Horrible experience with them. I had to sit in this dealership for 2 hours while working on a second lease thru them and still had to make a second 30 mile trip in to just do the paperwork. to make matters worse I was lied to by the manager brokering the deal who is no longer there and now the dealership will not honor what he promised. Another "bait and switch" dealer. Looked online and saw the "sale price", went to dealer with a trade-in, which I actually bought from them 2 years ago. And magically the price of the vehicle went up $6000, because I wanted the 0% financing. I understand how this works very well, but they didn't list what the discounts were or who they are from. I think I'll have to get away from Louisville Hyundai dealers, go in the country so to speak. Bachman Hyundai lists the prices, and then adds the military, and other discounts separate. This WAS a great dealer, but now they have merged with another company, and want way more than before. My $26000 Hyundai wasn't worth even half of what we paid! Stay away unless you aren't smart enough to know a good deal when you see it. read more

I had to walk out. They made promises early in the negotiation to get me to commit and then terms changed, and changed again. Then they tried to bump me again. My real worry is that I wonder if people fall for this shady procedure. It must work more then I think because they had no shame in trying to "work" me. I understand they are in it to make a profit but I was stunned. I hope people that are susceptiple to such techniques do not go there. They will be taken advantage of. read more

So I purchased a car for myself and helped workout a deal for a friend about three weeks later. Both were smooth transactions with David. My experience was overall painless with just one minor problem. I have excellent credit but it took almost three hours to process the finance paper work for us to sign. Other than that 5 stars on service. Test drove a 2017 AWD Santa Fe, that morning, left and called another dealer about 120 miles away worked out an excellent price with them and asked David if he could match. David's out the door price was about $700 more initially, so not a big price difference, but he matched the other guy. David took time to explain all the features of the vehicle to my wife. Which sort of eased the pain inflicted by the finance department. As for my friends purchase called David told him the price we wanted to be at and he was able to make it happen. When buying a car do your research, know the difference between an average, good and great price. There are so many tools that will tell you what you should pay before tax, tags, title and dealer fees. Know what incentives you qualify for you can find these in the manufacturers website and also if any are connected to you financing with the dealer, because some rebates are. If you're paying cash or using your bank to finance your purchase you may miss out on some real rebate. Believe it or not sometimes 0% financing isn't always the best deal, so run the numbers and know what you should pay for your new car. You will walk away feeling better about your purchase. $ 23000 financed at 0% for 60 months is about $383, that same car financed at 1.9% for 60 months with $1500 in dealer rebates for financing would be $375. That a savings of $480 over the life of the loan you get about 1 1/2 free car payment with that savings, just saying do your homework it's your money. read more
