In summary - the local team is great and we had a good experience with them, nice clean offices…read more Their logistics teams and cooperation across CarMax locations, however, definitely needs some work. Scenario: We purchased a vehicle from CarMax and it was in Columbus, OH. We paid the transfer fee to have it brought to Louisville. It took 2+ weeks, multiple phone calls and follow-ups, and several false starts to actually get it transferred. The local team reimbursed the transfer fee and did what they could to make it right. Corporate CarMax, help these guys out and fix how your departments work together to support your local teams who are in front of customers.

I have previously purchased cars from CarMax so I went back........Big mistake! I was greeted at…read morethe door and I was asked? Are you working with any salesperson? I said No so the gentleman said "well I can help you. I knew what I wanted to test drive so I explained to this salesperson and he retrieved the vehicle from its place on the lot. He didn't tell me he had to jump start it........ I test drove the vehicle and they evaluated my trade in. During the test drive I asked the salesperson what route people usually take. He told me he was new to the area and didn't know the streets. (You would have thought that was part of the training!) After the test drive I was told how much my trade was valued so I agreed and completed the paperwork for the purchase. After completing the paperwork I was waiting for the car to be brought up to the area where I could drive off. However........the car wouldn't start. The battery was dead. So the salesperson told me I could pick up the car the following day - they would replace the battery. He explained that service would have it ready when they opened at 10:00am. I arrive at 10:00 to complete the sale and pick up the car............I have my vehicles titled in my revocable trust. So the person in the business office asked me if my Wife was with me? I told her No it wasn't necessary. She then told me it was necessary. Another person in the office actually looked at my "Certificate of trust" to see that I am a Trustee and either Trustee can sign! (Again, you would think people in the business office would be trained!) Then I was told the car wasn't ready............they requested I go get a late breakfast! They admitted to not knowing the car needed service. Needless to say I could not understand how a Customer buying a Major Asset would be treated this way! I left before I said something unpleasant. While having my "late breakfast" I received a text telling me they ordered a battery and were waiting on it to be delivered! They would contact me after the Service Dept installed the battery. Needless to say I did not buy the car. WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER ! I left and went to Bachman Hyundai in Jeffersonville and purchased a Hyundai Santa Fe.

BUYER BEWARE OF NEIL HUFFMAN ACURA!…read more I just bought a used car from Neil Huffman and wanted to share a warning for customers. I live 3 hours away from Louisville so I spoke with the sales person on the phone and asked him to please make sure that all blemishes/damage....were disclosed to me before I drove 6 hours round trip! I asked for good video and his critical eye to disclose to me everything. He assured me there was only one small scratch and they would touch it up before I arrived. I showed me a very brief jumpy video and assured me it only had one small scratch. I drove up that day and was very disappointed to see more than the scratch on the vehicle including 2 wheels on the vehicle that were pained matte black and 2 wheels painted glossy black. There was also other small blemishes. The salesman and manager seemed too busy to care and instead said that I'd have to come back in a couple days so they can paint the wheels to match. A huge inconvenience for someone who drove 3 hours! So I drove back 3 hours because of their negligence. However, I liked the car so I returned 2 days, driving another 3 hours to buy it and pick it up. I then drove back and noticed on the freeway that the car was severely out of alignment. I called the sales person and asked if there was a way I could get reimbursed if I took it to a dealership in Nashville where I lived. He said that I would not be reimbursed. I was then going to turn around and again drive back to Louisville which was now an hour away, but the salesman said Swrvice was closing in 30 minutes. I had no choice but to drive home to Nashville where I took the vehicle to a dealership that next morning to get aligned. I also noticed driving in the rain that the windshield wiper blade was frayed and flapping around and not clearing rain. When I got to the dealership they were surprised any dealership would sell me a used car that out of alignment and with the windshield wipers in such bad shape. The total at the dealership I paid (1 day after buying this car from Huffman was $501. Now the following day I notice the heated drivers seat does not heat. This used car I've owned for only 2 days from Huffman cost me $1,000 in repairs. Huffman's Used Car Manager should've caught before they sold this vehicle and will not stand behind their mistake. I would never buy a car from Huffman Acura.
