If you are looking for some mountain bike instruction to help you improve, I would highly recommend…read moreFred at Cognition. I had already taken a beginner class in a group setting previously, and that was fine, but I had been riding for a while and wanted to get some additional instruction that would help me to continue to improve. I ran across Fred's name as a Certified Fluidride instructor and his offering seemed like what I was I was looking for at a reasonable price. So I contacted him and signed up. We started out with a review of the basics: braking, cornering, that sort of stuff. Of course, I thought I had that down, but sure enough I had built up a couple of bad habits that Fred quickly identified and helped me to correct. After that we took off riding. Fred followed me around and reinforced the earlier pointers he had given me and provided additional comments as we went. He was super easy going and mellow about it (he even apologized in advance for any unintentional nick picking, but as I told him, that's what I came for!). We finished off by sessioning various obstacles and working on strategies to help me get by them clean. The whole thing was a ton of fun and really helpful. The individual attention really enhanced the learning experience and from that standpoint I thought the lesson was a better value than the class I had taken earlier. So am I a better rider now? Let's just say I am a work in progress...hahaha! Seriously though, I definitely felt like I learned a lot and I did get better! So if that is what you are looking to do also, then I would recommend Fred at Cognition Mountain Bike Instruction.

We also all develop or return to bad habits over time. Identifying and resolving those habits puts us back on track. A little effort can go a long way to greater joy in your riding!
