Instead they tried to tell me I need much more expensive repairs. I order the JB weld for $6 and fixed it myself. Now the owner is out $100 and get a bad review for being dishonest. Edit: owner is also a liar trying to defend his dishonesty. I've attached a picture of our conversation in Yelp. Edit 2: oh so you didn't lie about talking to me you just so overwhelmed you couldn't remember all the people that you spoke to which is why you said you didn't speak to me. And you're not dishonest you are incompetent because you had to quote a much more expensive repair instead of doing quick repair. Makes sense considering you are so overwhelmed with business that you would immediately try and push a longer more expensive repair instead of a quick JB weld job. People if you do business with this man you deserve what you get.

Long story short, I dropped my laptop awhile back that caused minor damage where I was able to just…read morepop the pieces back together. Fast forward to about a month ago where I closed my laptop lid and CRACK - something happens where basically the bezel, back over, and hinge gets damaged to the point where it looks like I ripped it apart when I open my laptop back up. Tried to fix it and somehow made it worse by messing up the screen and man, I've done my fair share of taking computers apart before but I wasn't going to mess with my laptop after this series of unfortunate events. Cue Eric! I reached out to a couple of repair guys for a quote and Eric gave me the best one AND the hope that my laptop could be saved (I had a couple others tell me it wasn't worth the fix; mind you, my computer itself worked fine still - I just had to plug in an external monitor to get anything productive done). He was timely with messages, and even let me know that some parts were missing for repair and ordered it for me. His quote was reasonable in comparison to the cost of a brand new laptop and now that I've had it back for a couple weeks; I can honestly say it feels brand new. Appreciate his quickness and his expertise, would definitely come back for any silliness I encounter with computers down the road. Thanks, Eric!

I had my Apple Watch battery replaced (my watch was a few years old). Although it was fast,…read morecourteous service while waiting and at a good price ($79), one huge negative soured me -- The non-OEM battery installed was poor quality. The charge only lasted half a day which was worse than the old OEM battery that was below 80% capacity. I then went to Apple to try to try to get it replaced with an OEM battery. I was initially relieved that Apple will still service it. However, the usual Apple $99 battery replacement fee only applies to batteries below 80%, even if it's a third-party (after market) battery! Otherwise it will cost $349 at Apple, so I just decided to upgrade my watch to the newest version (Apple Watch 10 as of the time of this writing). It really sucks that iSquad's cheap battery led me to having to get a new Apple Watch sooner than I wanted to (and having to give up the O2sat sensor feature! (No longer available on newer Apple Watches). You get what you pay for!

Such is the case here - over the phone I was told to come by and show them my busted up iPad and was assured that whatever the issue was, they could fix it. Fast forward an hour later, (it literally took me 15 minutes of driving and walking back and forth on the street to find this place as it's basically a rented room at the top of a staircase of a commercial building), I was informed that my iPad is dead and that it should be used as a coaster or paperweight. Look, I understand a car mechanic cannot accurately diagnose a vehicle electronically or telephonically as accurately as they can if they can see the car in person and of course when it comes to an iPad with a cracked screen and water damage that won't power on, it would be ideal for a repair person to physically inspect it before diagnosing the issue so please don't tell me over the phone that you can fix something and then smugly state that it's beyond repair. Also, I appreciate that you want to keep your overhead low but FFS don't do business out of what is basically a bedroom with shit everywhere and a dog sitting around begging to be anywhere but there. This place is super inconvenient to get to with a super unprofessional "store" and super creepy vibes. All said, I disagreed with Sheldon's diagnosis so decided to call A to Z Wireless (which coincidentally enough is right down the street in an easy to see and enter store) and while no promises were made over the phone or in person, the owner fixed my iPad and is now working just as it did before I dropped it in a jacuzzi. So yeah...don't recommend this dude at all but highly recommend A to Z. Enjoy.

Travis did what he said he would do, to get my laptop up and running again. In fact , he went 110% and did additional work to make it run better and more safely. High Customer Satisfaction score for Travis and I.H.C., as he completed the job On Time (within 24 hours) and for a reasonable charge (same as the estimate he originally gave me over the phone). Most impressive was his approach to solving the issue - virus removal that locked my computer up. He successfully removed just the virus without having to wipe the system clean and reinstall it all. He did just what needed to be done and nothing more, to minimize any potential disturbance to another part of the system. I spoke with several businesses listed on Yelp, before I selected I.H.C. Some followed the "wipe clean" approach and said it would take 1 to 2 weeks because of their backlog. Others, to be fair, described a similar approach to Travis', but they cautioned they wouldn't know for sure until they evaluated it, so the cost might go up. I like that Travis is the person you speak with and that he does the work, which is not the case at a "big box" store with a production line service philosophy. He has a calm, professional demeanor that gives a customer confidence he knows what he is talking about. And he delivered, as promised. I recommend and would use his services again. read more

If you have a custom mac/hackintosh that needs fixing/help etc Travis at I Hate Computers is your guy. I couldn't find anyone around San Diego who knew what a hackintosh was let alone someone who had the expertise and knowledge to fix one. I called him up, presented my issue, he completely knew what I had and fluidly and confidently conveyed his ability to fix it. Travis got my hackintosh back up and running without any loss of data. I was having all kinds of problems with my imac when I brought it out of storage and travis was able to log in remotely and fix all of them! I couldn't connect to the apple store, couldn't upgrade my OSX, couldn't back up any of my files or get my wacom tablet to connect. Within an hour everything was up and running and my sanity was saved. Couldn't have asked for better service and from the comfort of my home! He's a genius, highly recommend. :-) read more

Super helpful and friendly, great customer service. Was able to replace the DVD driver in my Mac book, and reset the password on an old PC with out losing any of the data. It's refreshing to go to one place to have both my Mac and PC worked on. If I have more computer issues I know where to take them. I was in a bind and needed my work laptop fixed right away. Took it to another place that didn't have time for me till the next day and were just not very helpful. Paul made a house call and got our network up and running, with our printer working on our wireless network, and got our two MacBook laptops to work with this wireless printer. Our main Windows desktop computer was running really slow. Paul took it overnight and got this old computer running really well, and we should able to save money by not replacing this computer for another year or two.
