We came on a beautiful Saturday and were super excited to get fresh oysters and (or so we thought) for cheap! It's a nice venue by a school and park right by the bay, and it gets very very crowded, especially in the afternoon. There are some nice craft vendors, but my partner and I were really excited for the food. The seafood options were good, but much more limited than I thought. There was only one vendor selling oysters, and the only mode of preparation was raw (nothing grilled or otherwise more creative). I was pretty surprised by how steep the pricing was, though I'm glad the proceeds go back to the community in some form (6 oysters for $20). I was a bit disappointed by the quality of some of the oysters we got for that pricing, as there were some that were pretty small, flat and not as high quality. The other seafood options were good, and I really enjoyed a fried coconut shrimp kebab that was $25. Overall, it's a nice festival vibe and well managed, just pricey and some of the food quality around the star oyster was not quite up to expectations! I am giving it an extra star because it's by the water and the town was super quaint and beautiful!

There's always a woman selling fudge there who I always hit up for a few chunks to take home with me. This year I had a foot long hot dog for $6 from a German place. It was excellent. We'll definitely be back next year, just maybe not eating anymore lobster rolls, as $30 each for 5 people gets a bit steep very quickly.

Make sure you bring lots of cash for your food and other things you might want to purchase. I did see one ATM available but don't take any chances.

So many different places offering so many different and distinctive and delicious chicken wings. Everything from your traditional buffalo wing to A chicken wing with a chocolate raspberry sauce. For the most part, all of the wings were unique and delicious however there could be only one winner. My favorite was the traditional Buffalo style wing made by Tony. Delicious in all of its simplicity the wing it's self was plump and perfectly cooked with just enough buffalo sauce on it as not to mask the flavor of the wing. It was a beautiful evenng to walk through this very magical place. Amazing characters and animals. Did yu know that many of the characters come from local students who then send in their submissions and some of them are brought to life with animation and color. It's all about imagination and collaboration. I can't recommend this venue enough to bring your children and grandchildren. They will be mesmerized, by the characters, color and light around them. This is also a photo paradise for families. There are just so many opportunities here where to point your camer (or phone.) KUDOs to the team here at Eisenhouwer Park and Luminocity.

I arrive a half hour before it begins and get on line. Get there early. The fried pickle chips are never ready at the beginning. Keep an eye on it because once they open the line is out the park. The pickle lemonade is expensive but worth it. Never miss the corn it's cheap and amazing. If you want to buy pickles, again, early is key. As the day progresses the lines become extremely long. Plan ahead and enjoy

We skipped this line because people coming off the line reported the pickle was terrible. "A bitter cucumber soaked in vinegar water" was one description. Once you get in it is overcrowded with only one money grabbing vendor selling way overpriced pickles to throngs of fools waiting another 30-45 minutes to get served. There are lots of vendors setup selling all sorts of things from insurance to pens, having nothing to do with pickles. I have never in my life hoped a small family business would collapse until now. These people should be ashamed of themselves and are a blight on Long Island community. You will have a better time sitting in your basement with a jar of pickles.
