I will see that the ease of changing tickets were a plus. I had originally bought tickets on a snow day and was able to change the tickets for another movie the following day over the phone with no problem. However, when I finally did see the movie, the theater was filthy. We were in theater 8 and they did not clean the theater from the previous showing. There was popcorn all over the seats. The man sitting next to me had mustard in his cupholder. It was awful. During some of the trailers the sound was muffled or sounded like it was underwater so I ended up with a headache before the movie even started. Overall the ease of changing my ticket was great, but I would not be back. I have never been to a movie theater where it was not cleaned in between screenings before and I pray that will be my last. read more

As a kid, this place was always my favorite movie theater to go to. Having gotten back into seeing movies out again as I got older, I was excited to see how the place had changed and if it held up to all my childhood whimsy. Unfortunately it doesn't quite hold the same charm it once had for me, but it's still one of the better theaters around. Staff has always been very friendly and helpful when needed and the theaters are very nice quality with reclining leather seats. One of the big appeals for me is that this place occasionally do special limited showings of movies that other theaters might not get, so it's nice to have this place as an option. Two beefs to be had though (and one more literally). The last time I was there the theater smelled pretty profoundly of hot dogs? It wasn't necessarily overbearing, but I'd prefer a cleaner smell. Secondly, it seems like some of the theaters have thinner walls than others and you can hear conflicting sounds from adjacent movies going on, which can be a bit distracting. A ton of parking both in the front and back, and you can enter from either side. read more

We've been there before with no complaints. They have 14 theaters & this was theater 6. The sound system was horrible. 20 minutes of trailers & even those were garbled. We sat through a movie I'd been looking forward to for ages (Kiss of the Spider Woman) & I can't tell you if the movie was any good because I could barely understand the dialogue or the music. I'd go there again if I could be sure we'd be in a different theater, but they don't post which one for specific movies. read more

Saw Rigoletto there today. My expensive reserved seat was in the very top row. I was very uncomfortable in the seat, it was too deep. And the sound in the theatre was really bad - not loud enough, and only coming from the front of the theatre. Also, at times I could hear the sound from the movie in the adjacent theater. I changed my seat during the intermission to sit closer to the screen. I was actually more comfortable in the standard seat than the original one. Unfortunately I had to sit so close to the screen that my neck hurt looking up. One star because the staff is very friendly, and theater is nice and clean. read more

I would never like to go to this theater. Several rows were empty in the back but when ver I checked it was only showing front four rows seats. I really wanted to watch movie so I bought fourth row seats because I had no other option. we all got headache. what annoyed us was why theater blocked all the back rows seats when they were actually available. very bad experience and don't recommend this theater. This theater has a pretty big lobby area, they even have a Nathan's hotdog stand and wide selection of snacks! The theater itself was nice, recliner seats, good surround sound, even though the movie we saw was very below average lol. However there's nothing that stands out with this movie theater compared to the other ones like Regal or AMC. I haven't really been much into going to movies in theaters, especially since the pandemic. However, I really want to give a shout out to this theater! Pros: + Comfortable seats - I can't tell you how terrible it is to watch a long movie in seats that aren't that comfy. And these are just the right amount. Not comfy enough to be a bed, but perfect for lounging through the movie set. + Not super crowded - can always find a bunch of easy places nearby + Easy parking + They do have the option to rent the entire theater as well if you have a small group that wants to go! + Food options are surprisingly great for a movie theater! Military Discount for Active Duty members only...seems sort of like a half assed way to say you support veterans. There are no active Duty bases here but if a veteran from Hamilton in Brooklyn wants to travel to Farmingdale to watch a movie that's great. What about all the retired veterans, disabled veterans or just regular veterans in Long Island? Long Island has a substantial veteran population in general but even moreso by percentage, just seems sort of...like a disregarding. Decent theater overall for easy simple movie viewing. Seats are not always in the best condition but they do have a fair anoint of shows and also offer "other" movies and shows. Other being multi language films which is pretty progressive and a good way to interact with other communities. They get a start for that by itself. Without the discount there is no reason to come here as the Regal nearby is a bit more "up to date". read more

This theater will be my new go to for movies. It's reliable, spacious and they offer plenty of movie times for screenings. When AMC and Regal failed me with their lack of show times and seating available for Joker, Showcase came to the rescue. I was able to purchase online and use my Starpass for the Tuesday discount. We arrived for the 6:40 show and it was not crowded at all. Once close to showtime the audience started to trickle in. I found the stadium seating ample, however, the reclining seats here are limiting. They do not fully recline. The seats are a bit uncomfortable but that could be the lack of cushioning. Kind of like cheap interior in a car. Recently I decided not to patron at AMC due to their unsanitary conditions and broken recliners. This theater is a 25 minute drive from home, but it's so worth it. Staff was extremely kind and professional. They have security on site, plenty of parking available that is a short walking distance. No hikes to the entrance like AMC theaters. I found the theater very clean with exception of the ladies restroom. Showcase definitely raised the bar. Next visit I will sample the snacks and join the Popcorn Club for kids. read more

What a great experience here! This movie theater you have the ability to rent a whole theatre to yourself and up to 20 people, for either a current movie or another movie of your choice on a list the special events department provides you. I chose back to the future for my small family group, and it was a big hit. The theatre cleans each seat and the theatre before hand, everyone is following precautions and you must wear a mask unless you are seated in the theatre (for those who are wondering). To rent a movie theatre, you do this online through the special events department and someone from corporate helps set up the event for you and let's you know if your day is available. I haven't seen the movie back to the future in a while and it was great to see it on the big screen, with family only. This was a great experience! read more

My AMC in Stony Brook keeps getting knocked down after seeing these newer and high end Cinemas. I have a Yelp event and a few hours to kill. I figured let me see "The Darkest Hour". I walk up to the ticket booth. What seat would you like? I choose a nice seat in the middle and saunter over to the theatre. Once inside I see: #1 - The theatre is empty! #2 - There is a couple sitting in my seat. I walk over and start counting. I come to them and they say, oh is this your seat? I tell them, its ok. The theatre is empty!? Enjoy I move over to the next row and sit. These seats at the Farmingdale Multiplex are awesome! Man, I am lounging watching the epic World War II battle. Is that digital sound?? AMC Stony Brook? Crappy seats and cup Holders. yay...... The Farmingdale Multiplex Cinemas, high end seating with a state of the art sound system. $14 bucks a ticket is kinda steep. Fandango is connected to my AMC card and doesn't charge a online convenience charge. I'm knocking off a star for that online BS. Other than that, it was a pleasure to see a movie with such high end features. read more

I've seen more movies at this theater than any other theater in my life. It is my go to theater in the neighborhood and I have to say they've done well over the last few years with the renovations. The sound is great and the picture quality is excellent. There is always enough parking and the concession stand isn't bad either. If you are ever unhappy with something - I'm picky about getting hot popcorn - they will replace whatever you bought with something fresh. Yes, we all hate that guy who comes back and cuts the line, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do in order to get some freshly popped popcorn. Luckily, they never give me a hard time with that. They recently added reclining lazy boy chairs, which I must say are absolutely great. However, given the renovation, there are substantially less seats than there used to be. There are plenty of other movie theaters in Long Island that have adapted to recliners, but in an amount that fits many people. I really feel like some of the theaters here are too small, and due to this, the seats get taken up very fast. Many times, tickets will be sold out way in advanced for special screenings and it makes purchasing tickets difficult when you're feeling spontaneous to see a film. There have been numerous times when I went to last minute to see a movie with friends, and tickets are almost always sold out - sometimes even between 9 and 10 pm on weeknights. I've gotten used to this but it's not something I am particularly happy about as my movie experience has changed dramatically. I have to plan ahead and make going to the movies similar to setting meetings at work. Given my dislike, I still go here frequently, but have to adapt to the ever so changing movie world in which we currently live in. read more

I have only been here once for a Monday matinee with my sister and my mom. My mom hadn't been to the movies since the late 90's (I kid you not) so it was time to treat her to a random girls day out. The parking lot and entire theater was dead at our 11:30am showing. However, this made it the BEST experience! Ticket prices are not cheap. For most movie times, it is $14 per ticket and for matinee it is $11. I live in Tampa and this was expensive to me. However, you will be relaxing in some pretty snazzy electronic recliners during your movie! My family and I sat back with our feet up throughout the movie and enjoyed the luxury of these super comfy seats. Very spacious and the sound quality in the theater is excellent. Along the lines of food, do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else before or after your movie. The food prices are INSANE! You could go to a full service restaurant for much cheaper with better options. Everything is very clean. From the theaters to the bathrooms, this complex is well taken care of. The staff was very friendly and we had a great time. This theater is located right next to the airport on Conklin & 110. Just have to understand that you're not leaving without spending some $$$ read more

They recently renovated the theaters for the most part with the lovely recliners however, don't be fooled with the front reserved seating, they have the older chairs there for 50cents cheaper. The great thing about Multiplex Cinemas is their consistency from theater to theater. The 14 screens here allows them to show a huge variety of movies and they have all the first run films. A huge parking lot with the theater in the middle means you don't have to circle around the lot for a space and have to walk very far from your car. Stadium style tiered seating with rock back reclining seats means your view won't be blocked by any NBA players or beehive hair. It's a comfy movie experience, especially if you're seeing a 3 hr movie like the Hobbit or Interstellar. Your butt will thank you. They also use Sony Digital 4K projectors which gives you a really sharp quality picture. Regular ticket prices are currently $13 for adults, so are comparable to the outer boroughs but less than Manhattan prices. Even though the ticket line can get long on the weekends, it moves pretty fast. As for concessions, they have a good variety of food with pizza & hot dogs in addition to the standard popcorn, candy & soda. Unsurprised at the steep food prices ($$$), but they do pop their own popcorn instead of pouring it out of a giant bag like you see at other theaters. read more

Completely unacceptable. Place looks good, seating and auditoriums are fine. BUT the projection system stinks. The least two movies we've seen there (Napoleon-- a few weeks ago--and Ferrari--yesterday) were awful. No, not the films. It was the projection: Too dark, unclear, worse than a non-HD television picture. I expect this at a local tiny theater showing foreign films back in the day not Christmas-time 2023 in a multiplex. Unless this theater updates its systems we will never come to another showing. We enjoy the location--close to Stew Leonard's--and the easy parking, but if I want to actually see a movie the way it was intended this is NOT the place. read more

I used to go to the movies quite often, but now they are just so very expensive and so many apps and sites have first-run movies playing for free. Also, it's hard to pay so much money to see a movie in the theater these days, when you can just get the DVD, (complete with scenes of the camcorder running in the guy's pocket)... in Flushing, for a dollar. But seriously really folks. The Farmingdale Multiplex is a modern movie complex has all of the available amenities that are available these days, including buy your tickets online and pick your own seat. No waiting on line. I thought it was pretty modern and cool as, I bought my tickets an hour ahead of time using my phone. Wow, so different than it used to be. There are also different types of sound quality available in different theaters, and reclining leather seating. My friend and I saw the new movie, Bodyguard to the Hitman. It was absolutely hilarious, and one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. A laugh and an explosion a minute. Samuel L. Jackson was hilarious as a "Gentleman Hitman" who needed protection. There were a few negative aspects to our movie experience. Not all of the reclining seats recline! My friend and I are a little older, and thought it might be nice to get the reclining leather seats. Unfortunately the seats that we selected did not recline, even though we paid the extra money and they will billed to have been recliners. Not all the seats do recline, we were not aware of this. The food, is of course ridiculously expensive as with all movie theaters. I loved the option of being able to add as much extra butter to the popcorn as wanted. What a great innovation, the personal extra butter Fountain station. This was a real Plus. It was a great movie night out and really enjoyed our visit to Farmingdale Multiplex. Since the pandemic we have been hesitant to go to the movies. As the pandemic has been dying down we thought it would be great to go out and try watching a film at a theatre. We really enjoyed our experience here. Not crowded, comfortable seats and the food selections are decent. We love their chicken tenders and fries and ice cream. Really a great experience! read more

Panavision 70 MM is the BOMB! We saw Hateful 8...Tarantino's 8th movie and it was as strange and different as the other 7. It concentrates on the characters and does a great job. A great movie and worthwhile seeing! You need a strong stomach as there is lots of blood and gore!!! BTW...there is stadium seating and not the new reclineable chairs as some other theatres...but the huge screen and no heads in my way made it a pleasureable experience. read more

Every single time I visit this location and order anything, I am always told they shutdown 25 minutes after the last showing which is fine. Except for the fact when they say this, they are always shutting down 5-10 minutes earlier than suppose to. Consistency is the best way to be effective, efficient and successful. read more

Took my granddaughter to see a "Wrinkle In Time". It was ok, but the message was AWESOME, it is definitely a teaching moment for everyone. I encourage you to take a child. The theatre was very clean, even the restrooms. The staff friendly and personable. Movies are becoming very expensive, but you can't put a price tag on quality time. read more

Came here to watch a movie and I loved the amenities and the automatic reclining chairs. The screen was big and the movie room size is acceptable, roomy, clean, and comfortable. The price is definitely cheap compared to Manhattan rates. The price was around $10 on weekdays/weeknights. I am satisfied! read more
