I have spent hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of dollars on Alterations with Cecilia. My…read morebackground is fashion design. I know a talented seamstress when I meet one. Cecilia is phenomenal at reworking the lines of a garment. Those who complained were either not clear with her or had expectations of looking like a fashion model after they received their altered garments back. It doesn't work that way. Cecilia is able to tailor well-made garments so that they fit even better and look like they are custom-made. If a cheap item is brought to her you're going to get a cheap item back. The only thing she can do is work with the lines of the fashion, not the fabric that you're bringing to her. Have realistic expectations and invest in good clothing. If you do that and you use an excellent seamstress like Cecilia, your clothing will look like it was made for you. She can't make a silk purse from a sows ear, so don't expect her to. People need to be fair and realistic and plan expectations properly. Don't blame the seamstress for cheap clothing. Trust this woman with your garments. But invest in good clothing to prevent disappointment. Cecilia is highly, highly recommended by this customer who has a background in the fashion world.

She found us a polka dot pair of leggings that perfectly matched her shirt and opened up a side room so my daughter could put them on and gave us a bag to put the old jeans in to. It's one thing to raise prices it's another to go overboard. Simply said, I will no longer be a customer as the prices have become ridiculous. Update to My Review:…read more I want to publicly note that I have now formally contacted ownership directly via email regarding the damage to my brand-new Hugo Boss suit that was serviced here. Hugo Boss has since confirmed in writing that the suit was permanently destroyed after being immersed in water and then dry cleaned, a process that is explicitly prohibited and irreversible. This is not a matter that can be corrected with additional cleaning. Because I was traveling and live out of state, returning immediately was not possible, and the damage required me to purchase a replacement suit for work. This suit also carried significant personal meaning, as it was a gift from my wife in recognition of my retirement from the U.S. Army after more than 20 years of service. The business has now been provided: * Manufacturer confirmation of permanent damage * Proof of replacement cost * Direct contact information for Hugo Boss I expect immediate follow-up and resolution. I am documenting this here to reflect that ownership has been formally notified and that I am awaiting their response.

The dress was complicated because it had an under layer as well as an over layer and both were too long. Lena did a wonderful job to where I couldn't even tell what she had done, but it fits great and the pattern on the over layer looks the same as it did before. Lena works out of her home so you do need to make an appointment beforehand. Also, she is not cheap but I think you get what you pay for because it always looks great.
