I've been coming for a year and I haven't seen any turnover with staff. Everyone is committed and seems to love what they do. Very easy communication as well. 2. Convenient schedule. They have a ton of classes throughout the day so it's easy to find one to work with your schedule. The new facility has showers, which is an awesome addition. 3. Flexibility. You can freeze your membership for any amount of time, even for a week or two at a time. That is pretty remarkable and cost effective. 4. Challenging. There are members of all fitness levels and there are modifications to ease up or push harder. You will SWEAT, burn calories and build muscle. I came in, dropped my ego at the door and was ready to learn Mauy Thai. Now I have never officially trained or done a martial art. I've kicked my punching bag at home for about 1.5 years, and got obsessed with working form and trying to learn new kicks. I was expecting my friend and I, who came along with me, to be learning basics. Such as proper form with low kicks, on a bag or something. Instead on day 1, we did a few drills with pairs and then free sparred for nearly the remainder. I asked the rules of the gym and they said no elbows, and can only knee in clinch to the chest. Okay I thought, and I had a few good partners. We were flowing, and they were supportive. Not striking with any steam whatsoever. Letting us both learn and be technical. Then had a dude who was making it a point he could punch me in the face. Multiple times. No head gear or mouthguards were handed out. This guy clearly could tell I wasn't ready to take face shots. He delivered them anyways. Himself having Mouthguard in, headgear on. I could feel the ego war about to happen, I removed myself from the mat and only worked with a few others I felt I could trust. As I had removed myself for a moment I was watching how my buddy was doing. He was sparring someone who easily had a better decade of training under him. I could see my friend trying to learn and take things slow at first. He threw a very slow, no-steam spinning side kick to his opponent, 10% power and 10% speed. I thought to myself "oh they are gonna tell him no spins." Instead the guy side steps a newbie. And launches one himself doing a jump spinning back kick, hitting my friend under his guard. At quadruple the power my friend threw it at. My friend winces and keeps his guard up, throwing back jabs, but not hard jabs. I could tell he was pulling his punches, not wantimg to even attempt to hurt his opponent. His opponent started to escalate the situation. The guy stayed working his body. No sorry, no ankowlegment of him hurting him. As i watched it play out more, I could tell he was trying to get him to drop his guard, to lead him into what you may ask? A spinning wheel kick thrown at about 50% power. Mind you we are untrained. No head or mouth gear. I know this was a messed up envoirmemt immediately after seeing that. As we were leaving they were gloating about how people canceled their memberships and how they were quitters. I contacted them and gave my concerns. My saftey was completely disregarded. These guys only want punching bags that are willing to pay 50$ to be there. Stay away! it's sad too because I bet the BJJ is quality!

It's not too far off from Heritage Hill Brewery, so you can do a two-for and visit both-- however the park is lovely and worth a visit on its own. There's an overlook near the entrance where you can get a glimpse of the waterfall. However, the falls are also within walking distance of the start of the trail. The hill is on a slant and there are steep stairs, so the view may not be accessible for those who have difficulty walking. However, it was so calming just to sit and watch and listening to the waterfall. The day I went, there were others out but the paths didn't feel claustrophobic. I took some time and walked through the woods. The trail I took was relatively short, I think about a half mile total. I appreciated that there was a marker at the start that let you know how long it was. I am by no means a regular hiker (hoping to change that one day!) but this trail wasn't exhausting and was quite serene. This is a great park with a great waterfall and is definitely worth checking out!

Definitely the most relaxing place to hang out and people watch during the summer in the inner city area, and bettered only by Onondaga Lake Park (totally different) in the wider region.

When I was able to put it into perspective I understood. This is an overall nice outdoor gathering area. That I am sure is used throughout the year for many things. While I was there, it was just a normal day. The square houses the Soldiers and Sailors Monument which was dedicated in 1911. By 1917 the canal was filled in and expanded the square. As the years go on there are renovations and additions to make the square more usable. The one section you should check out is the section that the Jerry Rescue monument is situated. This depicts William "Jerry" Henry, a recently freed slave being rescued from the nearby jail by townsfolk. This was in defiance of the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850. Breaking into the jail they helped Jerry to escape and make his was to Canada, and freedom.

What better place to do it than at a park. Especially one that has so much to offer. When I arrived I came at this park from the intersection of Madison & Ostrom. When I came here it was bit off putting to me as it was where the intersection was a bit wonky that allowed for vehicular to enter the park. So you needed to watch while you walking that no traffic was coming, or just walk about the grass, which is what I did. Being from out of town I had no idea what this park had to offer overall but I did do a lot of exploring which led me to a lot of different areas. I first just walked through the fields and along the tree lines. I backtracked a bit and stumbled upon the pool area. From there, I found the amphitheater and hung around there for a bit. After that, I found the football field and saw a lot of people using it for multiple reasons. From exercising, playing with their dogs, flying drones and many other things. I ended my time in the park at the rose garden. Roses were still coming into bloom, but I didn't mind that. I looked around at the different varieties of roses they had planted. I then sat on a bench for a few minutes to just take in this portion of the park. When I left, I was off towards Syracuse University campus. This park is enormous, and I am glad I was able to spend some time here.

It's a really nice, open park with lots of space to walk around. I do wish they had some sidewalks or something along the roads going up or down the hills, but that's one of the few issues I can think of. The park is maintained well, has a lovely rose garden (one of my friends volunteers here regularly, actually, which is how I found out about the park - they have a "Rose Day" in mid-June to celebrate, and I'm told that timing is mainly because that's when the roses are usually at their peak), and lots of fun features - like the amphitheater area, where my dog was especially interested in watching some folks who were preparing for a summer play. There's a pool area as well, tennis courts, concession area, and so on... and my pup especially seemed to love rolling down the hills just below the Thornden Park Water Tower (pictures included in this review, of course). It's worth noting that I *have* had a couple slightly sketchy experiences here... including one time being followed around by another park goer who seemed to be experiencing some mental health issues. As with anywhere, just be mindful of your surroundings.

If you're looking to achieve your fitness goals and want results fast, look no further, ILKB in Liverpool, NY is where it's at!! I was getting bored at the gym and had been going solo for a couple months. I realized that I needed that little bit extra, to mix things up and take my workouts to the next level. One my friends recommended that I try out ilovekickboxing.com in Liverpool, so I took her up on it. From the minute the person picked up the phone, I had a feeling I was gonna love it there! They were all so full of energy and excitement. I'm not like a workout guru or anything, I'm just motivated because of the results that I've been seeing. My strength and endurance have increased, my clothes feel like they are fitting looser, and I can tighten my belt another notch! I also like making new friends and the fact that the trainers hold you accountable. In my experience, sometimes you just have to try different kinds of workouts before you find what's the right fit for you and what works to keep you motivated, whether it's running, yoga, crossfit, spinning, boot camps, etc. Kickboxing just happens to be what fits for me AND I feel pretty bad ass when I'm doing it!! I absolutely love this place. It is a great way to work out, especially for someone like me who does better in a group setting than just going to the gym and trying to figure out what to do. I have actually gained weight since starting, [all muscle mass] which was my goal. Regained my flexibility [full splits, yay!], and have more strength and energy than I thought was possible. I'm so excited for this summer to show off my muscles I thought were gone forever after having my daughter. The staff is always very friendly, the events are fun and if I literally crave going to class. The gym is always clean and well kept. I love this place, I just wish I had found it sooner. Now, are you going to learn a whole bunch of super professional kickboxing technique like the person in the other review seemed to think he was? I joined ilovekickboxing about 2 months ago after the recommendation from several friends and coworkers. I am so glad I did! I come from a dance background and have never been one for a gym membership, as I love having the structure of classes. Each class is always different, targeting different muscles and areas of your body. I leave each class sore in places I didn't know I could be sore in, but in a good way! I find it hard to stay motivated to stick with workout routines sometimes, but that is not the case with ilkb! I look forward to each and every class! The trainers are amazing, taking the time to help you, encourage you, and make sure you are having fun along the way! The rounds on the bag are my favorite part of class, but I especially love the roundhouses! I started iLovekickingboxing April 1st, I know Aprils Fools Day, but it wasn't a joke. For Christmas I decided I would give myself a "gift" and I purchased the 3 day classes for the free gloves because I wanted the free gloves, I mean who doesn't love free gloves. But I thought the gloves would come to me in the mail, nope. They called me and wanted me to set up a class. April Fools day, there I was. Honestly, the energy in there was uplifting, everyone participated in those burpees in the 15 minute warm-up, we pushed through we kicking and punching the bags, then partner drills and the crazy enthusiastic instructors. That day I decided to join the Liverpool iLoveKickboxing and I haven't looked back since. I go as much as I can, 2-3 times a week. I just started this week and let me tell you I have never been happier about my choice to sign up for the membership. On my first day I had an instructor work with me one on one (after an amazing warmup) to show me all the punches and kicks we would be doing in class. I have never felt more comfortable with someone when learning something new. While she was teaching me, there was another instructor teaching the class. I felt this made things so much more comfortable. Other exercise classes I've taken don't do that and I often found myself uncomfortable because I had no idea what I was doing. This place is amazing and everyone I have met so far has been incredibly encouraging and motivating! I highly recommend joining and changing your life for the better. Joining ilovekickboxing has been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. Being on your own going to the gym just never did it for me. I never knew what to do or how much of it to do. Kickboxing is structured, it's a routine that you get use to & I am so proud of the accomplishments I have made so far. I have maintained the same weight for 6 months & have lost inches & my clothes fit better than ever. I feel comfortable in my skin, which is something I never felt. The unique personalities of all of the trainers is so heartfelt & comfortable, they make u never want to miss a class. I've never been much of an athlete and have always struggled to find a workout that I actually stick with. It's been 8 months since I joined ilovekickboxing and am so happy that I did! I've been able to stick to a consistent workout schedule for the first time.. ever! If I slack and haven't been in in a bit - they reach out to me and get me back in the door. Each class is always different. The trainers are amazing, incredibly motivating, encouraging, and most importantly, fun! "Time flies when you're having fun".. the hour class goes by so quickly. I have never done kickboxing before and this is amazing!! I've been to gyms in the past as well as used to be an avid jogger, this beats both of those!! Classes are something different everyday! They are intense and the staff in amazing!! They encourage you every step of the way!! I, myself sometimes feel intimidated walking into places like this and from the first day i walked in, i was greeted and treated as if they were one of my friends for years!! ilovekickboxing Liverpool has made an incredible difference in my life! I've always been active, but I've never found that "thing" that got me to wake up in the morning excited to participate in. This is it! The staff are SO kind, patient, enthusiastic and fun. The other members and staff are the best support system ever and give me the motivation to do my best every class. The gym itself is extremely clean, too! I appreciate that since it's a shoeless gym. I've never felt stronger or happier during or after a workout! I have been struggling with a healthy lifestyle for as long as I can remember. I've gone from gym to gym, tried different programs and sports but always lost interest or motivation after a few months. I Love Kickboxing has been a complete game changer. LoveKickboxing changed my life. I never knew what I was getting myself into as I walked through that door. It has become my outlet now. I have tried multiple ways to find a place I enjoyed going to. Now I finally have. It's not boring like the same routines as going to the gym. The staff is AMAZING and extremely motivating, they never give up on you! I wake up everyday wanting it like it's an addiction and what a great addiction that is to have. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! From the moment I called to ask questions I felt like I was part of a family and not just a workout gym. Throughout the workout we encourage each other and accept each other for showing up and giving it our all. The instructors are fun and take the time to explain technique to get the best, most efficient, and safest workout I have ever experienced. ILKB Liverpool has truly changed my life. It has become my outlet. The entire staff is so supportive in and outside of class. Even with my crazy work schedule and only being able to make it 2x a week right now I am still seeing results, more energy, more defined muscle and I can tell I am getting stronger each class! I went to this place and was blown away by the lack of knowledge going on here. None of the instructors have any martial arts experience whatsoever. I was even more shocked to find out that none of them have any type of formal fitness education or certifications. I'm not sure if this is even legal for them to be "training" people. But from what I gathered they were more over people to cheer you on and shout into their mic. I wouldn't recommend these places to anyone as you can actually find a legit gym gym in the Syracuse area with real trainers with martial arts experience. read more

I have to begin by saying how welcoming, motivating, and friendly the staff is! They are genuinely invested in your health & so everything possible to help you meet your goals. The classes are awesome!! I needed something intense to ramp up my metabolism, increase endurance, & tone up my body and ilovekickboxing is the answer. I started I love Kickboxing almost a month ago and I am so glad that I did. I have not only seen physical changes but mental ones also. This place has made me feel like me again. The trainers are exceptional and keep you motivated and push you to keep going in healthy positive ways. They are most of the reason why I singed up. I knew they'd keep me accountable and knew they cared. The atmosphere they provide is amazing and I miss it when I am not there. I joined I Love Kickboxing- Liverpool at the recommendation of my cousin to prepare to be part of her wedding but since I've joined, I have gained so much more! The classes are dynamic, the instructors are fantastically motivational, and the atmosphere is welcoming and full of fun, laughs, and well earned sweat! Since joining I have not only lost weight and inches, but I've gained strength and self confidence!! I joined ILKB, Liverpool NY in June of 2017 and have loved every minute of it since. The classes are so much fun, and always push you to your limit. It's been amazing not only to see my own progress, but also fellow members improvements. The trainers are always so kind and encouraging and will work with you if you need modifications. You really feel like you're part of a family at ILKB. I would highly recommend it to anyone just starting their fitness journey, or someone like me who has always worked out but was craving something new. read more

In July, I purchased a $700 pass for 10 personal training sessions as part of a "summer special", with the promise that a master's-educated trainer would be available. Unfortunately, that trainer never started working at the gym, and I was not informed of this until late September--months after waiting and following up. Despite knowing my schedule, Randy repeatedly suggested trainers who were already fully booked. He then set me up with an unqualified intern who worked at the front desk. When I expressed my concerns, he acknowledged that this wasn't acceptable and offered Pilates as an alternative. However, that turned out to be another false promise, as no sessions or teachers were actually available. After months of back and forth and empty promises, I requested a refund, as it was clear I was not receiving the services I had paid for. Randy initially agreed but then delayed the refund, citing financial excuses like needing to wait until after the "metro gala." By November, I still hadn't received my money, and he stopped responding to my calls and texts entirely. Now it is mid January. This has been a frustrating and disheartening experience, especially as someone in a low-paying position after completing graduate school. I share this in hopes of warning others about this gym and Randy's business practices. If anyone has advice on handling situations like this, I would greatly appreciate your guidance. As an aside, I had a bad experience with a trainer there who was really creepy and asked extremely personal questions. Most of the gym is dedicated to the personal training space. There are never wipes or cleaning supplies convenient or restocked to clean equipment after use.

Douglas, my trainer, is pushing me the right amount to make a difference and I always leave feeling good about the work I've done and his partnership in my progress. Also it's just a great gym. It's a great place to focus on the workout but you always run into cheerful people that work there.

The tour was from…read morean older gentleman who is a member, and he showed me everything as well as explaining how some things worked....liked signing up for classes and certain amenities that are extra charges. There were several classes in progress and the machines looked up to date. It was mid day so not as busy as I would expect it will be early or after work. Everything appeared clean and well kept. The process didn't take too long and then the (very nice) lady at the desk, Tisha, showed me how to use the App for finding and booking classes and other information. No pictures, but I've already booked an Aqua class and will schedule an appointment with a fitness trainer to help me learn more about the machines and what classes would be good for me.

I latter asked him if he was getting personal training. He told me he asked the owner if he could help him with his deadlift and instead he took an hour of his time to help him out. Hercules is an old school powerlifting/strong man gym with dumbbells up to 200lbs. It has a ton of 45lbs plates, even 55lbs competition plates, and several 100lbs plates. Along with a ton of machines and equipment. It has a small membership base, so you are not waiting on equipment even on peak hours. Not to mention you can go 24/7. It welcomes all types of lifters. I have been with the gym since before it moved to the current location and that's 5 years or so. If your thinking about it, just DO IT!

It's a great gym if you never plan on going to another gym. The owner has no SET price, he charges…read morebased on you much he dislikes you. Last time I was there, it was $20 a month for a new member, and if you left for a bit for a different gym, and come back, he'll charge you more, and that is why the 1 star. Other than that, it really is a great gym, it was my first love. It's really gritty like Pumping Iron (the movie), and you can get your workout done. The basement is also nice if you want to lift heavy. The times I went had little to no people, so that was a plus (if you just wanna get in and out). Also, I don't know what people consider "clean", but one of the reasons I love the place is because its "gritty", so don't expect shiny equipment. The owner is nice enough, just don't "cross" him by going to a different gym, and you'll be fine.
