I Love Sugar in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. This shop is located next to the boardwalk of Myrtle Beach. The shop is huge candy store that has a lot of different candy, sweets and ice cream. Our visit was on Sunday June 25, 2023. As you walk up to the store. You see a huge candy display in the front of the store. You walk into the store and see so much candy. All around you and everywhere you look. It's a candy field day for anyone. You have everything you need for any candy store. On your left, you have the cashiers and ice cream shop. The place is clean and very shiny. It's so bright inside that makes you feel like you walking into magical place. We didn't see anything dirty or a mess. The candy store was very modern and didn't look run down. The staff was ok. I just didn't feel welcome into the store and there wasn't any smiles from the staff. You would think you would see that in a candy store. They seem like they just want to get paid and nothing else. They was just there. I understand it's work but you are in a tourist destination in a candy store. You should at least smile to customers. The prices was kinda pricey. I believe I got like twelve blue gummy bears and the cost was $7.28. They weight the bag at the front and that is how much the cost of the bag will be. That is how you will know that your candy bag will be priced. It was kinda crazy for that amount of gummy bears for that price in my opinion and some of the candy was way overpriced. Some of the candy they have is almost eight dollars and they have them at dollar tree for $1.25. Just seem a little expensive for the same candy you can get somewhere else cheaper. The ice cream was good. I had the blue panda and it tasted like cookies n cream and vanilla ice cream. Very delicious! They many other flavors as well but the prices for the cones was wrong. On the board behind the ice cream counter. The cost of a kids cone is $.99 but they charge us $2.00 for the cones instead. That sign should get fix. It's false advertising. (photos below of the sign and our receipt) I Love Sugar is a great candy shop. They do have many amazing candy and items but we wouldn't recommend them since they do overpriced everything and charged us different prices than the board shown on the wall for the ice cream cone. I can't believe I almost forgot to give this cute little boardwalk candy store a shootout for doing exactly as advertised! On one of our last nights on our trip everyone needed a sugar rush and this place definitely solved the problem, they sell bulk of just about every sweet you can think of and me and my sister even got to finally try some 3D gummies we've been dying to try forever now. They can be a little pricey but you get quality with the cost for sure and it's just fun to walk around in and explore. read more

The lights went out and I did not like their stuff and when I went there, it was already cockroaches and bugs and the food was expired and the service was horrible and the food was moldy, and I just didn't really like how the service was and the food the food was not that good. read more

My toddler loved picking out his own bag of taffy. It was pricy ($16/lb) & after we bought 2 bags of it we found out almost all of the taffy was old & hard. It's edible, but definitely not the soft taffy I'm used to. Hopefully it's just because it was the off season (January), but I won't be trying again. read more

The cashier told me my total was $81.99 after taxes which I thought was a little high but I paid it not thinking anything. The cashier threw the receipt in my bag and I happened to browse it while waiting for friends to check out and she charged me $24.99 for a Pez Harry Potter Gift Tin that I did not buy nor did I not see anywhere near the registers! When I questioned her about it, she ran off quickly to get the manager. It took about 5 minutes and then she and the manager came from the very back and the manager EMILY processed the refund, took a picture of it on her phone and then handled me the receipt. She never apologized and never had me run my card for the refund or anything. When don't you have to insert your card for a refund? When I said something to her about how it was odd to me that I was overcharged for an item that wasn't even at the register, she said very curtly that it was a mistake. EMILY's attitude sucks. How often is this company doing this very thing and overcharging tourists who don't pay attention? Stay away!! read more

I'm a big sour candy fan and I Love Sugar did not disappoint. There was a section of it including sour patch kids (no sour enough), sour belts (yaaaaas!) and sour apple jellies (double-yaaaaas!). If you have a sweet tooth craving, this place is the place to check out. Besides the sour candy I mentioned, they just have so many different kinds. They even have those cigarette candy... several different types of boxes, which I thought was interesting. I thought they were illegal? I don't know. Yes, I do love sugar, I really really do! I went to this location every time I came down to the beach. Perfected located in close proximity to the sky wheel and plenty of restaurants. It was so easy to stroll in and find something to satisfy any sweet tooth. There is literally walls and walls of candy. Grab a clear bag & start filling it, you pay by the weight. There are also tons of novelty gifts in the store, literally something for everyone. From a funny bottle for a baby to cheeky gifts for friends. This place is full of candy--or so it would seem. Once you walk around inside you realize everything is just really well spaced out and the pricing is very high. The biggest disappointment we had though was that there were hardly any options for our son with a severe peanut and tree nut allergy. A lot of their candy is in jars and sold by the pound (a cross contamination nightmare) and much of the pre-packaged contains nut warnings as well. The best option was a $30 giant gummy bear, which we weren't about to cave into. read more

The candy heart is bite off a piece that symbolic the love of sugar. The table top has glass containment for the gum bear or the m&m. Other display include toy from Asia and hello kitty goodies box. The store was very spacious and lucky for us, it wasn't a busy night so we had plenty of time to make multiple rounds in the store without any wait time. We will be back next vacation. This gorgeous shop has everything: Gummi Bears, giant boxes of Bazooka gum, Pocky, Sugar Daddies AND Babies. You will "ooh" and "ahhh" your way through the shop - guaranteed. The other side had a few knickknacks and souvenirs(small football between $9-$14).Had a few spots inside to sit for children. Sugar Heaven! There is no other way to describe this place. I Love Sugar is every kids dream and also adults. It has every piece of candy you could imagine and some other cool gifts as well. Although I myself am not a huge fan of sweets I thoroughly enjoyed taking in every corner of this place. My husband on the other hand is a sweet lover and had a field day. My son and wife had a blast taking pictures of the huge candy. They were bigger than him. I think the price is a lil high, but since it's a tourist area and I love candy, I bought a few items. Not exactly sure what I got (I mixed it all up in a bag), but they were all delicious. It was also not stale like other candy places I've been. I just don't want to pay $20 for something I can pay $10 at most gas stations. If you're going to severely mark up your items at least regulate it to the uncommon ones. Also, many things you can consider online because it'll be $20 in store or $15 online with around $4 shipping. read more

Willy Wonka eat your heart out. I Love Sugar is a confectionery dream, and a dentist's worst nightmare. Over sized candy, creamy gelato, gag gifts, walls of gummy bears and more await you in this Sugar Shangri-la. My friends and I transformed to big kids once we stepped through the doors of this place. We were transfixed for over an hour, buying and wandering around in amazement at all the store had to offer. There is something sweet for everyone in this Colossal Candy Land. This place is so fun, I can't imagine anyone leaving this store with a sweet treat and smile. It's located right in the heart of the boardwalk so you can't miss it. This place is very similar to a smaller version of Dylan's Candy Bar in New York. People young and old will find something to fit their fancy. Make sure to get some gelato while you are there.
