This place inside looks amazing and you can tell right away your sandwich will be worth your time!!! I got the BADA COME LA FUMA which had Porchetta, smoked provola, roasted potato cream, and spicy eggplant. What an amazing sandwich not to mention the bread perfect and fresh. My wife got the LA CHIANINA which had Marinated Chianina beef, stracciatella cheese, yellow and red tomatoes, and arugula Both sandwiches were definitely worth the hype and if I ever go back to Rome I'm definitely coming back here for sure!

Rome Day 5: A must-try Italian street food experience…read more.. While exploring Rome, we had to stop at All'Antico Vinaio for one of their famous schiacciata sandwiches. The bread, the flavors, the fresh ingredients, and the whole experience made this more than just lunch -- it was a taste of Italian food culture. Fun fact: All'Antico Vinaio started as a small family business in Florence in 1989 and became famous for its traditional Tuscan schiacciata sandwiches. Over time, it grew into an internationally recognized brand, with locations including Rome. What I loved most was being able to experience something that began as a local Italian tradition and has now become a place people travel to try. Another delicious memory added to our Rome adventure.

This place was so incredible, we went TWICE during our 3 day stay in Rome!…read more We had tried the other "super famous" Italian sandwich spot earlier in our trip and it did NOT deliver. Pane e Salame, however, was delicious!!!! On our first day in Rome, my husband and I decided to search for a lunch spot nearby (we were staying near the Trevi fountain), and I found this place had pretty good reviews. We got there about an hour after it opened and requested a seat outdoors. They have a tiny patio across from their entrance, but they fit quite a bit of people in it! We initially wanted to order two sandwiches to try more items, but I'm glad we just shared one - they were big and filling! We also had the small charcuterie board to share which was plenty of food for us both. We shared a bottle of rose, and all in all, we paid under $50 (usd) - what a steal! This was the perfect first meal in Rome. The food was incredibly fresh, the service was great, and the outdoor seating allowed us to experience the streets of Rome. 10/10 - would absolutely go back.

Our sandwiches were cut in half and one half was big enough to make the average person full. We got five sandwiches for only about €30! The place was not a tourist trap, but i have to say, the seats at the booth were uncomfortable to me, and the place was a bit small. Sorry i do not have photos. But overall, I would recommend to go here.

When I arrived there was no line, so maybe I got lucky, just one couple in front of me already inside the shop. Take a number and wait your turn. It's worth it. Sandwiches are made on pizza bianca, a crisp and chewy flatbread native to Rome. They will fill your sandwich with whatever you like, and then weigh the sandwich to price it out. I got mortadella, stracciatella, pesto and sun-dried tomatoes. The sandwich was phenomenal, so delicious and memorable that I recreated it when I got home to the US, bread and all. The sandwiches may seem simple but the ingredients are the best around which really takes things to the next level. Don't miss it if you're in Rome.

We got the Bobby flay (porcheta, stracciatella, pesto) with sun-dried tomatoes and a mortadella sandwich with stracciatella cheese and pesto spread. Both were good sandwiches, but I felt like the meat and cheese to bread ratio is off. One sandwich had too much filling while the other had too little. That said, both sandwiches were tasty.. and after waiting an hour, I had high hopes but unfortunately it just didn't wow me. Service was excellent though.
