Another "viral trend" restaurant that I found on TikTok that was so worth it. Conveniently located near a metro station one stop from the Colosseum. This area is way less touristy (other than this one restaurant it seemed). The line moved very quick through this tiny restaurant that can fit 2-3 people inside at a time. The menu is posted outside above the door as well as on the wall inside. The sandwiches are all premade and then they heat them up before they give them to you. Very limited seating in this little alley so most people were sitting on curbs or leaning against the wall. We loved our massive sandwiches and I would definitely come back. read more

This place was good, and their food quality is great, but I found my sandwich to be a little mild. I was expecting more flavor out of my sandwich, so I was a little disappointed. I got the panisperna, while my friend got the Madonna dei Monti which I thought was better. There was a line but it went by pretty quick, and I didn't have to wait long for my sandwich to be made! Great location to stop in for a big sandwich. It's just a few minutes walk to the Coliseum. We stopped here for lunch after our tour. It's on a smaller street so it's an escape from the busy crowds. It's a small quaint space with takeaway sandwiches. There wasn't any seating so we took it to a nearby park to eat. The staff is friendly and offers bread tastings when you arrive. They have many different sandwich options both with and without meat. We ordered the Clementina which was my favorite and a meat sandwich with mozzarella and sundried tomatoes. The zucchini and pesto were amazing on the Clementina! Both sandwiches were pressed and warm which made them very tasty. They were fresh and filled with lots of flavor. Overall they were a great price for all that you got. We did think the meat sandwich was a bit dry without a sauce or pesto on it so I would definitely recommend the Clementina! read more

I came across this hole in the wall sandwich shop on one of my first days in Rome, not knowing my feet would lead me back here a few more times throughout this trip. On a Sunday afternoon, after a colosseum photo shoot, I wanted a small snack to fill me up before going to a restaurant for a meal. I saw this tiny shop on the walk back to my Airbnb, with only a few customers. The space inside is very small, with only two seats outside. We had no idea what to expect. We were kindly welcomed by a lady and her partner. Per her recommendation, I decided to try the sandwich with pistachio and ham. After waiting a minute, we were given a warm, fluffy, yet crunchy panini oozing with a sour cream textured cheese. As an American, I am used to a good ratio sandwich, usually with more meat than bread. However, this sandwich came with a slice of ham. It was the most unexpected perfect ratio. I split one sandwich with my partner, and it was so filling for 8€, we decided we did not need to find another place to eat after this place. Throughout the rest of our time here, we wanted to try as many other places as we can, to beat the taste of Mizios, but it was incomparable. We came back two days later, getting another panini. We decided to try the Urbana. Again, it was one slice of meat, mortadella and it was still the PERFECT ratio. We couldn't help but to walk off some food space in our stomach by window shopping in local vintage stores nearby, and went back for seconds. This time we tried the Grillo. The salami in this was salty, balancing the cheese and focaccia, the perfect taste. We only have one more day here, and as much as I want to try other places, I know I will be back a couple more times as this place does not disappoint. This hole in the wall is a MUST TRY. read more

Trust the reviews! This quaint sandwich shop was one of the highlights of our first day in Rome...aside from the Colosseum. After spending a whopping 5 hours at the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill my husband and I made our way to Mizio's. We ordered the Colosseo and watched as the prosciutto was sliced freshly in front of us. After the sandwich was prepared it was warmed on a panini press. Meanwhile we checked out - €12,50 for the sandwich and a drink. The shop itself has no seating but there's a great bench with a picturesque view just outside of the shop. We sat and ate in pure bliss. The warm focaccia was insanely delicious. The prosciutto was sliced thin and there's definitely a minimal amount compared to the ratio we're used to seeing back home in the States. Less is definitely more though since the prosciutto is on the salty side, which I also read in other reviews. I washed it all down with a stellar lemonade. It was the perfect lemon flavor - not too tart or sweet and just a hint of carbonation. I may or may not already be looking at how to get the shipped to the States! Overall Mizio's was great. I see how other reviews say that they kept going back. It really is that good. I highly recommend taking the extra few minutes to walk here if you're near the Colosseum.
