Compared to other boba places this is the best I've had!! (2) Takoyaki balls - this was surprisingly very good, not as good as Orenchi's, but still tasty overall. (3) Ramen - ok, I know...why would I even. I wanted to see if it would at least be better than what I would make at home. And...it wasn't. DRINKS // (1) regular milk tea with pearls - just OK, they give you the opportunity to alter sweetness and ice like other places. But the tea lacked flavor overall. I only came here for the basil popcorn chicken. Here's the deal folks, boba shops and snacks are great cheap eats. This duo is like peanut butter to your Nutella, or ketchup to your potato chips, or strawberry to your henney. Point is, you'd never know how good combos work out unless you try. Basil and garlic? Came back because this was my favorite boba joint in the town, but i don't really want to return here unless i'm extremely desperate for boba! I enjoy how most of their selections taste here, but I suppose it depends on who makes it because their drinks are a hit or miss. Their boba is extremely good every time though--you can't get a drink here without their boba. My boyfriend and i was hungry around the time we went, which was the late afternoon and judging by the amount of patrons within the store, we came after their rush hour. Though, the cashier did a great job at rushing us through! There was no one else in the line except for my boyfriend and i, and we took our time perusing the menu, narrowing down what to eat, and the lady stared as us until we finally spoke to her... But when we did, she spoke so fast and it felt like she wanted to move on! There were a couple of times when she interrupted us, asking for the sugar and ice level, before we finished saying what we wanted. However, that didn't really ruin the experience because we just wanted our food. I noticed while we were seated, that when there is no orders coming in or people in line, every single one of the workers use their phones and lean on the counter, so I'm hoping they frequently wash their hands and clean the counter because a phone is extremely dirty. It also doesn't seem as professional; when customers came in it took a while for them to address the customers! A worker then called out a number for an order, and when there was no response he started to look at the receipts of the customers. It felt... intruding because he went up to us, slid the receipt his way as he placed the order down, and when he realized it wasn't for us he said, "Oh shoot, this isn't for you," and went away without an apology. I guess his rush was explained because he went on his phone right after, lmao! When our food properly came, it was mediocre. I wouldn't recommend getting their curry plates here because they don't put enough curry. It's a plethora of rice and veggies, and some chicken. My boyfriend wanted to use the spoon, but it was dirty! Like with remnants of the last time it was used (see attached photo). So much for cleanliness... I don't want to imagine the core areas they have to keep clean if the utensils aren't cleaned properly. I love their mango crystal and order it every time I come here. Earlier I had my drink fall through the carrying tray and they gave me a replacement! Make sure to hold the bottom of the tray so this doesn't happen to you. The owner saw me with the receipts writing a review and came over to ask if everything was alright, so they pay attention and try to help if you have any issues. Amazing customer service! They have a lot of great drinks and put in actual chunks of mango that are sweet and ripe! Not sure where they get their mango supply from, but every time I come, it doesn't disappoint! They add chunks of other ingredients to some of their other drinks as well and their prices are good too, especially with their rewards program. Most of the time I come they're pretty busy. (My only gripe is that it comes with pearls, and taking out pearls doesn't make it any cheaper - so unless you're on a diet, just get your money's worth and get your drink with pearls if it comes with them. i'm kinda salty but whatver) An order of takoyaki has six, and it's absolute perfection. Maybe a bit heavy, but the sauce!!! The deep-fry!!! I'll definitely be back here, there's a lot of other snacks and drinks to try! Lots of choices. Also, I'd be careful with the honey brown rice milk tea. We got it with 80% sweetness, but it was still sUPER sweet. One of my favorite locations for boba and snacks! I have yet to try the actual food here but it's still on my list! I always order the oolong milk tea here - sometimes it is a little too sweet at normal sweetness so I ask them for a little less and it's perfect. They also fill the cup up all the way when I ask for no ice if I want to drink the milk tea the next day. Some places are pretty stingy about that and always leave some room or say they have to put at least some ice in the drink. This place has the best popcorn chicken, it comes in a box - stuffed and the chicken comes in pretty big pieces with basil and garlic. The breading here for their chicken is definitely different from other places. It's thinner and has a kick to it. Definitely recommended! read more

Guessing some are seasonally. I usually get 30% sweetness, and it's still pretty sweet to me, but I'm sensitive to sugar. They have a promotion if you buy 5 drinks in one transaction, you get one free. This doesn't go towards five stars if you have it. Buy 9 and get 1 free with five stars. 3.5 stars for their fried calamari. Sometimes it's 4 stars. Hit or miss... I like my calamari with enough batter that gives it a crunch. Sometimes it's not battered enough for my liking.The calamari is usually cooked just right. Not under or over cooked. P4 is my favorite from their menus of Pearl Teas. However, they keep messing out my order twice already. I even repeated myself 3times to the cashier, and again, they gave me the different kind. Today I got their seasonal Watermelon honey with crystal aloe and it is AMAZING. I love watermelon drinks but this one is by far my new favorite. Tastea's watermelon heaven use to be my favorite but this one has tops it because it's just the right amount of sweetness. The one at tastea is just too sweet like they had sugar to it. Their food is great too. The takoyaki here is like any other takoyaki you would get at a ramen joint. Today I got the popcorn chicken and this is the first popcorn chicken that I've had where they use white meat and it doesn't taste dry. What a way to make me feel like I'm sorta kinda eating healthy. Just the right amount of seasoning and this will for sure be my go to spot for popcorn chicken. They also throw in some garlic cloves and they aren't fully cooked so when I ate a whole clove, it was spicy AF. #DumbassMoment. I almost always order the Mango Sago which is a mix of fresh cut mangoes and small tapioca. However, I've recently realized that they're now adding less mangoes to the drink. Came here today with my husband during lunch. Ordered curly fried, popcorn chicken, fried calamari, tonkatsu ramen and two tea, total $35. Everything is very salty, and a little spicy by default (except the ramen). I wish I knew this so I could ask for non spicy. However I think it would be better to make the food non spicy by default, since people can always add spice flavors after, but there's no way to turn spicy food into non spicy. We asked for no ice for the Thai tea but they refused, and told us that all tea come with ice that they can't make them no ice nor less ice, they all have to come with regular ice. Weird, ice is added, just like sugar. Why is it impossible to make them no ice? Feel like they just want to give less drink but use ice to fill it up. read more

This is my favorite place to get the hot ginger milk tea. I also really like their food options. They make ramen and an assortment of fried snacks. Popcorn chicken are huge chunks of meat for less than $6. The garlic chicken wings are bomb! I don't think their food is frozen because there is a mysterious back kitchen staff. This place gets busy and the line will go out the door. There is a bomb Greek spot next door and Yogurtland next to that. There is a parking lot, but it does get packed. I think we were off with our drink orders. Ordered the B4 (tofuhua milk tea with red bean) and C2 (Hokkaido milk tea). The B4 milk tea itself was okay but the problem was I didn't realize there was a cream included inside as a topping so after I finished drinking my tea there was a glop left at the bottom.... And it didn't leave me with such a refreshing feeling I'm usually looking for after drinking boba tea. :( the C2 kind of tasted like coffee and I'm not sure what Hokkaido milk tea is supposed to taste like so I guess I don't have a reference point, but the boba also wasn't that tasty for me. Spotted this place because of the long line and also wanted to fix my craving. We ordered: Strawberry slush with these clear jelly with 30% sweetness. Taro latte with 30% sweetness. Oolong tea with boba with 30% sweetness. Even with 30% sweetness it's tasted more like 50% sweet. One order of spicy popcorn chicken. I like the extra basil leaves because it gives it a refreshing taste. However, the garlics can be cut smaller and cook a little longer. I would also add a sprinkle of salt. My current obsession - their original black milk tea with boba. I suddenly got into boba again after trying it at iTea again.. their boba is super chewy and soft and not overly sweet, I love it. It makes a great addition to the milk tea, which I usually have at 50% ice/sugar. I love that they have both a SJ/SF location so I'll always be able to get it wherever I'm closer to! However, I do like this location better because they have more workers and it's a lot more spacious than the SF location on Irving! That one's extremely cramped and forces you to wait outside in the cold when there's too many people inside.. My family stopped here on a whim while on our way to Tahoe and once I saw the vast tea selection, I got so excited, that we all got drinks, and I got two. Now on our way back home, we've stopped in again. The line was crazy long on Saturday, and we walked right up to the counter on Wednesday night. I'm giving five stars, because we asked for some hot water to warm up our baby bottle - the staff gave us a bowl of hot water - it was hugely helpful. I LOVE that I can choose how much sugar or ice go into the drinks. The first time our order was: 1) Fousho Oolong no sugar - smooth and delicious 2) Chrysanthemum Puerh - earthy and good 3) Hot taro milk tea, no sugar - it was still quite sweet. Everyone was stealing sips from me! The fresh taro at the bottom was a special treat, so good that I didn't care the Taro flavor came from a powder 4) Avocado shake w/o boba, no sugar - should have added boba. I put in some boba from my Taro milk tea and it was better. Second trip our order was: 1) hot honey brown rice tea with 30% honey, with chia, agar boba and added Taro - the chia was surprisingly good, though the drink was a little cold. 2) Thai iced tea with 50% sugar - tasted great 3) Hot Taro milk tea, no sugar - so good we got it again! read more
