We stayed in a ground floor room toward the back of the property, which felt very private and cozy. The room was lovely and included a Keurig with coffee pods, which I appreciated. The only minor downside was noise from upstairs, we could hear footsteps/furniture or suitcases being moved fairly clearly. It didn't bother us much, but light sleepers may want to keep that in mind.

One of our favorite touches was the "Aloha Room," which was so thoughtfully equipped with water, snacks, hot water, a microwave, and even sunscreen..details like this really set the inn apart. We were also fortunate to host a small dinner onsite, and the ambiance was truly stunning - intimate, elegant, and quintessentially Maui. Every single guest staying at the inn commented on how much they loved their room, which speaks volumes. Breakfast each morning was lovely, and Lupe, the housekeeper, was incredibly attentive and kind throughout our stay. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the level of service. Ramu went above and beyond in every way - accommodating our special requests, always being available, and communicating with us seamlessly throughout the entire process. I was in the Papaya Suite and definitely plenty of space, with a separate bedroom, kitchen bathroom, and the living room! And did I mention, the great breakfast food and other snacks in the provided basket as well as fresh fruit, cereal, milk and other items inside the refrigerator and freezer? Definitely saved me time and money from having to drive to the nearest bakery or market! Yes, this is a real Bed & Breakfast and definitely worth every dollar! There are three other suites available for booking and there is usually no minimum stay required except during certain times of the year like the holiday season or special local events, for instance. Also, guests are offered a 10% discount if they pay in check/cash versus charging to their credit/debit card, and I opted to provide Eva with the check. You will also find two common areas, and one of them is right outside the Papaya Room on the ground level where there are other tables, chairs, and a BBQ. The other common area is upstairs on the lanai, where there are more tables and chairs, and ultimately a lovely view of Kihei and the West Maui Mountains! During our stay in the Pineapple suite, the restroom/kitchenette/bedroom were organized and had plenty of space for two people. It was easy to feel at home within the first few minutes after settling in. Eva was easily accessible for questions about the island/ local recommendations and was more than accommodating for our breakfast options (fresh local fruit, pastries, coffee, etc.). There was also onsite laundry, swim gear, and sunscreen/mosquito repellent. Whatever Eva was managing with guests, we also observed that Jim kept up with quick repairs/maintenance on the property. My partner's favorite part of this stay was the fruit and their dogs!!! I too loved their fur babies in addition to the view from the second floor deck (phenomenal during sunset). We are truly impressed with the hospitality and welcome that these seasoned hosts provided.

Apparently it used to be a Japanese club called the Diamond, but was converted to a hotel after seeing the club die out. I booked this hotel for a variety of reasons. The biggest reason being that this is an adults only hotel. Upon doing my research of Maui, I figured that the south west side was probably going to be better for calmer waters and a more tranquil place for a relaxing vacation with my wife who is expecting. I am glad I chose Hotel Wailea rather than other hotels around the area including Grand Wailea or Four Seasons. Another reason is that I was able to book directly on their website and save some money on their insider rate (nonrefundable). I always try to book directly so that it benefits the hotel. It also benefits me because I was able to save 30% on the rate and got a few bonus perks. It was a little bit of a gamble due to the extreme weather that they had prior to coming, but luckily everything worked out and the weather was beautiful during my stay. Being a smaller hotel, I noticed more attention to detail and much better service than any other hotels that I have stayed at in the past. Upon coming to the hotel with my rental car, the valet service greeted us and took care of all our bags and showed us to the check in area. We were greeted with a flower lei for my wife and a kukui nut lei for me. The check in process took a few minutes to explain the layout of the hotel and details. We got a free valet parking since we stayed 5 days at the hotel and also got a $100 dining credit. I am glad we got the valet parking since I read that the parking spots can be tight and distant from everything. The valet took us to our stay with a golf cart loaded with our luggage. Upon entering our suite, there was a welcome gift including some chocolates and alcohol free champagne. The suite is filled with everything you need. They have a fridge stocked with soft drinks and sparkling water that is all complimentary. They also have bottles of water and you can request more. You are able to take beach chairs, umbrellas, parasol and towels to the beach. They have shuttle rides that can take you to nearby area up to a certain distance. They will also pick you up if you call them. The shower and bath had the best water pressure I've seen anywhere. The bathtub was huge and it actually filled relatively quickly. They have a TV in the bedroom and in the lounge area. The outdoor patio provided a really nice view towards the ocean, garden and sky. I stayed very close to the gym which was a huge plus. I was able to use it every morning and was the only one there every morning prior to sunrise. Working out pre-sunrise to sunrise in a open door setting was a great experience. They have some unique free weights that mimics a natural wood look. There is a row machine, a coupe of treadmills, elliptical and peloton for cardio. Other basic machines that uses a pulley and weight system are available. They have several yoga mats as well for any floor exercises. The pool area seemed busy during the day so I went after sunset mostly. The water is heated so it is very comfortable. There is a beautiful sunset view from the restaurant or from the birdcage. Depending on who you ask and what circumstances they have, it could vary what expensive is, but it is certainly not cheap or affordable here. You are paying for more than just a view here. The entire experience is curated for you. The staff here does a phenomenal job at keeping this property well-maintained and running. The restaurant and hotel has a premium price, but for a premium experience. There are other experiences here that you can book on their website or contacting the front desk. The front desk, housekeeping and valet were all so easy to contact with the phone in the room. We tried the in room dining once and although it took some time, it was a nice experience. Known for its tranquil adults-only atmosphere, attentive service, and luxurious amenities, Hotel Wailea offers a beautifully curated and premium Hawaiian getaway that is well worth the high price tag.

It's a short 15-minute drive from the airport and conveniently located in walking distance of the beaches and not far off Road to Hana. It was my first time traveling to Maui and a friend who has lived there for 5 years recommended Paia. It was very safe and secure. We adventured during most of the day, but we drove through later one afternoon and the area was hopping! Nalu Kai Lodge - it's not your typical place to stay. I went there with my boyfriend. It was quaint, romantic, safe, comfortable, and unbelievably clean. To put things into perspective on a cleanliness standpoint, I travel every other week for work and my routine is to check for bugs, Clorox wipe any surface I touch, and wear shower shoes (I am a germaphob and have stayed in 5-star hotels to your typical Marriott or Marriott Courtyard - you'd be shocked at just how disgusting hotels are no matter their rank). This is the first place I stayed where I haven't worn shower shoes in years. It was just that clean. The sheets were fresh and the bed was cozy. The temperature was ideal - we went during rainy season in January and the fan with the windows open made for the perfect temperature. It was almost magical the way the rain sounded on the roof. It was better than my sleep and meditation app - and it was au natural! The stone floor of the shower room felt amazing under my feet and the room came with fresh beach towels and a refrigerator. I read reviews about parking - they have enough spots for guests, there is plentiful street parking at night, and there is free beach parking a block away. Be aware - the bathroom is separated from the room by a curtain. If you are a private person and need added privacy to use the bathroom, I recommend sending your significant other/travel buddy outside to enjoy the lounge area, to the coffee shop adjoined to the lodge, or to go look at the shops. They also have an outdoor shower by the fountain outside, a hammock, picnic tables, a tiki bar, and many outlets for charging. If you run into the staff, they are extraordinary. I particularly enjoyed Suzy (Susan?)'s company. We talked one afternoon and she was a lovely person. My only regret about my stay is that I only stayed two nights. I spent the other nights in different parts of the island in Airbnb's, inns, etc. My boyfriend and I tried to book additional nights at Nalu Kai even though we had reservations elsewhere, but they were booked. We loved it that much. It was just that special. It is located almost at the center of Lanai City downtown, 5 minutes' walk from Hotel Lanai, right by Dollar rent a car. We absolutely loved staying here. The Innkeeper Isabelle did a great job, preparing very good breakfast and keeping a great company. There are 4 bedrooms in the house. Noise level depends on who you are sharing the house with. If you are traveling with family and rent the whole house $516.00/night, you don't need to worry about strangers' noise. We had 2 perfectly quiet nights and rest was ok noise. There is no Kamaaina discount for this B&B but price is reasonable $129/night. They do not charge for unlimited Shuttle Service. You need to deal with the Shuttle directly. WIFI available but the connection is slow. I think only Four Seasons Hotels on the island has good connection. Main road is right there. You might want to choose the back room to avoid traffic noise - which is never heavy.
