An absolutely breathtaking stay! My experience at Hotel Wailea was beyond amazing. The entire property is stunning -- from the lush tropical gardens and peaceful atmosphere to the incredible ocean views that make you feel like you're in a dream. The staff were all so friendly, warm, and accommodating -- every interaction felt genuine and personal. The resort has so much to offer -- beautiful suites, relaxing pool areas, and amazing dining options. You can really feel the attention to detail and care in every part of the experience. It's the perfect place to unwind, recharge, and feel completely at peace. I can't recommend Hotel Wailea enough -- it's truly a slice of paradise, and I can't wait to come back!

The Wailea Maui captivates guests with its beautifully maintained surroundings. Their grand lobby that opens up to a delightful koi pond enhances the overall atmosphere. The view is just astonishing. Restaurants on property cater to those that want to watch the beach. You are paying for the view so it's definitely expensive. Nothing spectacular about the food compare to other restaurants near by. Servers were attentive and kinds.

THIS is the vacation for the vacation. Peace, Tranquility, Seclusion, Kindness... words I use to describe our amazing stay at Hotel Wailea. We started off at the Grand Wailea... it's crowded, loud, service is hit or miss, the food is hit or miss... and for the price you pay... it's not worth it IMO. So when we checked into Hotel Wailea (which ... Yes, is more expensive), I knew THIS was where my vacation would truly start. Drive up the hill to the property (about a mile or 2 from the Grand Wailea)... There are very few "neighbors" nearby Hotel Wailea. It feels like you are nestled up away from the hub-bub. When we pulled up, there was just us and the valet at the entrance... not a huge line of cars and bunches of people milling about waiting for their taxi, uber, car. The unload process was easy and quick. (They also have a "shuttle" service that will drive you to/from the beach, restaurants, shops within the Wailea area. I think it's like a 4 mile radius. Super easy to arrange. We only waited like 10 minutes or so.) Check in was quiet and organized.... Just us and the front desk. No kids running around or adults trying to deal with some issue or get an upgrade. (Oh! And not only is this property small and intimate.... it's also adults only. Huge plus in my book for when I want a quiet vacation.) After check-in, you walk back to the valet stand and are whisked away in a golf cart with your luggage where they drive you to your room and get you situated. Moments later, there is a knock on the door. Truffles and Macaroons! My faves! I savored these.... so much so... that I wrapped up some and took them home and had them several days later and they were still amazing. Our room was spacious and comfortable. While you can tell the room itself is a bit older (the single sink in the bathroom and the shower fixtures bely the age but they were in good condition so no problems)... the furnishings and amenities are new and luxurious. The bed was very comfortable. The patio was quiet and felt like your own private world. The WiFi worked great. The pool was not huge but was perfectly sized for the several couples that were lounging about along with us. No one was waiting for a lounge chair or wondering where to put their things. The 1 group of men that were in a cabana were having a great time (but were not obnoxious) .... I envied their comradery. I wish I had a group of friends that would be willing to spend $$$$ on a fantastic place like this to hang out together. There were 2 pool attendants to help with towels, drinks, food or whatever you might need. The bartender was engaging and fun to talk story with. The Drinks were Fantastic! The Birdcage is a fun lounge with lots of cute lovebirds twittering. The Restaurant is VERY good. Breakfast has lots of tasty options. Dinner is a 3 course dining experience where you pick 1 starter, 1 main and 1 dessert. You can add-on other dishes as you wish. Their wine list... or rather wine book.... is super extensive! Overall.... THIS is the place to stay if 1) you are not brining kids and 2) want a quiet, serene, 1st Class, 5 diamond experience.

They literally think of everything! Luxury and service at its finest with the most beautiful sunset views.

This place is gorgeous! They are also know as Hotel Wailea, Relais Château. My niece just celebrated her wedding here and the view is just amazing. Food was really delicious, and the hotel itself is beautiful. It gives you luxury vibe and lots to see. They had her reception at the courtyard and that was amazing. It's a perfect place for date or get married or just have a nice intimate dinner with your live one... Highly recommended!

Great place to stay. Super impressed with our suite and service we received. This will be my 'go-to' Maui vacation spot for peace and quiet in a gorgeous setting going forward.

We just finished our 5 night stay at Hotel Wailea and are coming back home renewed and refreshed. Service: friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the hotel and surrounding area. Front desk available by text and responded quickly. Food: Amazing! We had breakfast several times at the restaurant, everything was delicious, but the ricotta pancakes are a must. Dinner at the birdcage was magical, with a wonderful atmosphere and surrounded by lovebirds. Both the food and the drinks were top notch. And last but not least the poolside food and drinks were stellar as well, the club sandwich.....yum. The room: all rooms are suites and there are only 72 on property. It was absolutely beautiful, including a limited kitchen and a soaking tube. The living area opened completely up to the magical Hawaiian landscape. Turn down service every night! Property: one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Lush greenery, water features everywhere, birds chirping..truly a tropical paradise. No kids! We have two at home, 3 and 5 year old girls. I love children, but there is something extra relaxing about not being around them . Amenities: there are many and we only indulged in a few. The gym is open walled, with a stunning view, high end workout equipment included. House car that will drive you anywhere in the area. They provide beach towels, chairs and umbrellas on demand for your day trips. We had an in-room massage that was reasonably priced, and so relaxing. Free drinks in the rooms and unlimited replenishment of filtered water. Location: it's not right on the beach, BUT you can see the ocean and it's away from the chaos down the hill. 4-5 minutes from the closest beach, near shops, grocery stores, and the golf course. My husband and I have stayed in a lot of different hotels, in very nice places. The Hotel Wailea was the most relaxing, pleasurable trip we've ever been on. Thank you everyone that made our experience so special!

This was our first time coming to this bar and restaurant. The ambience was spectacular and the service was on point. We arrived early so we enjoyed a cocktail in the Birdcage Bar. IM-PECK-ABLE DAIQUIRI Kuleana Nanea Hotel Wailea Blend, Appleton Signature Estate, Acid-Adjusted Pineapple Juice GREEN JAY Hendrick's, Melon Liqueur, Rosemary "Super" Syrup, Cucumber, Lemon For our restaurant experience: We started with the salads: Me...WAIPOLI GREENS (Balsamic Vinaigrette, Cherry Tomato) Hubby...RAVIOLI (Shrimp, Pistachio Gremolata, Sage). For our entree: Me: S.R.F. WAGYU RIBEYE Kabocha Squash Puree, Caramelized Pearl Onions, Patty Pan, Demi-Glace, Ali'i Mushrooms (substituted mushrooms for asparagus) Hubby: COLORADO LAMB CHOPS Carrots, Black Garlic Jus, Swiss chard, Snap Peas, Pearl Onion. For dessert: Me: FLOATING ISLAND Vanilla Creme Anglaise, Strawberry Gelee and Hubby: CHOCOLATE MOUSSE Hazelnut, White Chocolate, Feuilletine Crunch. All of the above was cooked the way we ordered and didn't have any leftovers to bring home. Incase you want to bring in your own bottle of wine, the corking fee is $95.00. Mackenzie was so sweet and fabulous...she definitely made our anniversary dinner memorable. Thankfully we live on island because this could become our date night location.

We had the most amazing honeymoon staying at Hotel Wailea. It was absolutely gorgeous, super calm, quiet, relaxing. We found that guests pretty much kept to themselves and were quiet and respectful. Our room was gorgeous and super comfortable. The staff were attentive and accommodating. The bell boys were all so nice and took great care of us. We loved having the bell boys drive us around Wailea. So many nice personal touches. We can't wait to come back!

*ADULT ONLY HOTEL* How do I describe the most amazing vacation in one review?? Upon arrival we were greeted by the valet service that guided us to the check-in in the lobby. The lobby is called the "bird cage" with free flying love birds all around where they offer food and drinks. The check-in lady gave us a book with all of the activities and services the hotel offered and gave us all information about the hotel she could offer. We then were guided back to the valet which drove us in their golf cart to get to our room. Through out the whole stay you can use the valet service to drive you to your room at anytime in these golf carts and they can drive you around to different beaches and places they have near the hotel on the island. If you do get taken to the beach they offer you towels and a bag to go with you! We spent a lot of time near the pool which had AMAZING service. The pool had their own lunch menu which was open from 11-4 and they consistently ask how you're doing and if they can get you anything without being over bearing. The pool offers towels for use on the chair and extras to use for after you get out of the pool or hot tub. They also offer sunscreen, different types of floats, and seating with and without reservation. The whole hotel is beautifully built around a man made creek outside a bunch of birds flying around making the whole experience relaxing and serene. When we walked into our room after getting back from the pool we were surprised with champagne to welcome us to the hotel. The room was so clean and beautiful. The outside patio was very comfortable with a beautiful view overlooking plants and the ocean. They also have black out shaded to make the room as bright or dark as you want. They also had different types of sodas and snacks that were refilled throughout our entire stay. They also were very fast when we asked for more towels or needed anything sent to the room. My husband set up a surprise private dinner at the tree house that is around the mango trees they have in their garden for my birthday, which was just magical. Before arriving to the dinner my husband and Chef Conner had a very nice descriptive conversation on our food preferences and dietary restrictions. The dinner was exquisite. It was a seven course meal overlooking the sunset which set into the ocean. For anyone looking for a romantic dinner, this is the place. It is the best dinner you can get on the island with full service and the server and chef are so kind and create wonderful conversation that makes it very comfortable and enjoyable. The server took multiple pictures and even went so far as to ask us to take pictures because the sun was hitting us at the right angle or it was just picturesque that he just had to take pictures. When we were done they gave us a bag with honey, fresh menus that were customized just for us, and a ride back to our room. This is a must do with your significant other. We highly recommend this hotel if you do not want any kids running around or a regular hotel experience. All of the hotels we looked into staying at on the island were just like any other hotel you would stay at anywhere. This hotel was just so beautiful in its own way and would highly recommend to any couple or someone looking for a get away to stay here.

From start to finish, our entire experience was absolutely wonderful. The hotel staff were all extremely kind and engaging, offering helpful tips and suggestions. We had nothing but positive interactions with the valet and the front desk. The staff that work at the on-site restaurants were also lovely. Our ocean view room was clean and spacious. It had all of the amenities we could hope for and the shower had wonderful water pressure. My only request would be that there was a shelf in the shower to put the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, as we ended up having to put them on the floor and bending over in the shower while pregnant is not an easy task. The linens were soft and I appreciated the opportunity to earn food and beverage credit or Hilton reward points if we opted out of having our room cleaned each day. The blackout curtains in the room were also wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the sunset from our balcony each evening and listening to the live music that was performed each night down by the pool. There was ample pool space with plenty of pool chairs, both in the sun and in the shade. Access to the beach was extremely easy. While we were there, we also took part in morning yoga, access to the complementary aquatic activities, a sound bath under the full moon, and the infamous luau. I also booked a prenatal massage at the spa, which was absolutely divine. Access to the Courtesy Car to drop us off at nearby restaurants for reservations was extremely convenient. We appreciated the complementary reusable water bottles and the local snacks and beverages that were restocked in our mini bar. All in all, it was an absolute incredible stay and the next time we find ourselves in Maui, we will absolutely be returning to the Andaz.

In comparison to some other brands such as Aman, Four Seasons Maui felt below average given its price point. The resort itself felt small and a bit old. The service felt very below average and inconsistent. When we went to the adult pool we were told by one employee that we needed to be on a waitlist. After 3 hours when we finally got notified that it was our turn and went back we noticed other guests just literally went and grabbed empty benches and staffs were just setting the benches up for them(no, they didn't even know there was a waitlist)... Our canoe experience at the last day of our stay got canceled due to high wind and the concierge never notified us etc. Many employees gave me the vibe that they don't really care. They just gave me fake smiles and robotic responses. Maybe Amond would take better care of us...if he is still alive... The view was very amazing. We even spotted whales many times.

Our room was clean, comfortable, and very nice, and every staff member we interacted with was friendly and hardworking. We explored many other hotels while we were on Maui, and honestly, none of them compared to Grand Wailea. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, expansive, and classic. I don't agree with the reviews saying it feels run down. It isn't ultra-modern, but it has a grand, timeless, classic resort feel. The beach out front is amazing. We explored a lot of beaches on Maui, and I never found one I liked better than the beach at Grand Wailea. The resort itself also feels unmatched in size and beauty. No other hotel we saw had the same expansive grounds, pools, landscaping, and overall resort feel. That said, the biggest downside was how much everything felt overpriced. I understand Maui and luxury resorts are expensive, but Grand Wailea sometimes felt like it was nickel-and-diming guests. Valet parking is $75 per day, and when you add in tipping every time you retrieve a rental car, it gets frustrating fast. On Saturday and Sunday evenings, valet was also very slow. One night we waited over 25 minutes. The valet staff were clearly working hard, but they seemed understaffed for the volume of guests. The food pricing was also hard to justify. At the marketplace/counter-service options, we saw coffee for $7.50, hot dogs for $26, hamburgers for $32, and 12-inch pizzas around $30. You also often have to wait in a long line, and if one person is making coffee drinks, it slows the entire line down. Olivine looks beautiful, but the prices were extremely high, including a personal sausage pizza for $38. Considering the mixed reviews, we could not justify eating there. While we were there for over a week, the resort restaurants looked quite empty every day. I truly think if the restaurant prices were even 30% lower, many more guests would stay on property to eat instead of walking across the street to places like Manoli's or Island Gourmet. The pool area was beautiful, and we appreciated little touches like seeing free pineapple passed out at the pool one day. The idea was nice, although the execution could have been better since the server was putting wet pineapple chunks directly into people's hands. We also wish the waterslides stayed open later, especially for families. Grand Wailea does offer free Nespresso coffee in the room, which is nice, but after seeing one too many social media videos about people misusing hotel coffee makers, I personally can't bring myself to use in-room hotel coffee machines anymore. One extra service I would gladly pay for is a paid hospitality suite or shower room option for guests with late flights. So many flights out of Hawaii leave late at night, and after checking out in the morning, it would be incredibly helpful to have a clean, comfortable place to shower and freshen up before heading to the airport. Overall, we loved Grand Wailea and would absolutely recommend it. The staff, room, beach, pools, and grounds were wonderful. I don't understand all the bad reviews because our experience was very positive. The resort is beautiful and memorable. My only real complaint is that the food, coffee, parking, and extras are priced so high that it pushes guests away from spending money on property. Full restaurants would be more profitable than beautiful restaurants sitting empty.

If you're a couple and you are there for more than two days you'll appreciate the ability of the early riser to get up, make some coffee and hang on the lanai without disturbing the one of you who likes to sleep in. The bathroom was large and luxurious and supplied with really nice Le Labo soaps, shampoos and lotions. In addition, the property is immaculate and the public spaces are beautiful. There are three attractive pools -- one of which is adult only and there's a beach with attended lounge chairs at the bottom edge of the property. Our stay included the breakfast buffet, which had a wide assortment of choices that were nicely prepared. A downside of the hotel is that they host a number of corporate events and it can sometimes feel a bit crowded. Many mornings during our stay, there was a good size line at the host's station to be seated for breakfast. And once we were seated, navigating the buffet stations was a bit hectic. Similarly, the lounge chairs on the beach are within inches of each other. When sitting on your lanai, the music from one corporate cocktail event or another provides the soundtrack for the evenings. And one final nit -- the Nespresso capsules in the room were very nice, but the coffee served at breakfast was abysmal. So don't get me wrong. This is a very nice place and we had an enjoyable stay. But if you're sensitive to having your own space most of the time, this might not work for you.

Our room had a couch, dining table, bath and a half and a tub shower combo and a fire pit outside!! Had the Costco package and breakfast was included, it was a buffet style and just fine for starting us out in the morning. The resort had lots of pools and was in between two beaches, so we were always hanging out at either a beach or pool. There are a lot of stairs here. We like that we could go down to the one beach and there were beach chairs provided there from the hotel, I you got there early enough. We never ate on property except for breakfast so we can't comment on the other restaurants. Want to visit again sometime. PS-We saw the biggest, fastest spider on our patio at night, decided to only go out there during the day after that.

Upon arrival, it took over two hours for bell service to deliver our luggage to our room. Once we finally settled in, we discovered the room had not been properly cleaned. There were hairs and sand throughout the bathroom and room, and our children even found toys left behind from previous guests. To make matters worse, the room phone was broken, making it difficult to contact hotel staff when assistance was needed. My husband is a Titanium Elite Marriott Bonvoy member, and we have generally come to expect a higher level of service and attention to detail when staying at Marriott properties. Unfortunately, there was no recognition of his status during our stay, and the overall experience did not reflect the level of hospitality we have received at other Marriott resorts. After bringing our concerns to management's attention, the hotel did remove the upgrade charge for our first night, which we appreciated. However, the issues have continued throughout our stay. We are currently on day four of our five-night stay, and these problems have not been isolated incidents. Most recently, despite being out of the room for the entire day, housekeeping again failed to service our room. For the price point and reputation of this resort, we expected a much higher standard of cleanliness, service, and attention to detail. The property itself is stunning, and the grounds are truly one of the resort's strongest features, but the repeated service failures throughout our stay have significantly impacted what should have been a relaxing family vacation. While we appreciate the effort made to address some of our concerns, we hope management takes a closer look at the consistency of housekeeping, room readiness, and guest service so future guests have an experience that better reflects the Marriott brand.

I initially planned on canceling our trip, but the hotel asked that we still come since they needed the business. I just didn't want to be in the way, but Lahaina is far away so we had no impact. It's a beautiful, huge resort with a great deal of amenities to include outdoor grills, basketball court, tennis courts, pool, etc. The onsite bar and restaurant is also very nice. It's in a great location near the center of Wailea and close to Kihei so it makes for easy travel. Love our stay here.

My expectations were high and the property, although stunning, left a bit to be desired in terms of the quality of the room. However, the reason I am giving this hotel my highest recommendation is because of the superb quality of my interactions with the staff. They were kind and committed to helping my family during an important family vacation. I felt like a guest at a friends home more than a guest at a hotel. We ended up moving to another area of Maui but I will always remember and appreciate the courtesy of the many members of the staff from Residence Inn being helpful to us during our brief stay. If hospitality is important to you, like it is me, you will be impressed by the staff's desire to help you enjoy your stay in a property that can only be described as stunning.

We had the standard room which was spacious enough for suitcases and they also had a lanai for us to get some fresh air. Bathroom was clean. Water pressure was strong. There's a couch which was perfect for us to just chill and watch tv. They give all residents water bottles and there're water machines on each floor for us to refill. Breakfast is minimal. Some cold cuts, whole apples and oranges (not even cut up fruits). There are a few hot dishes. They charge $30 per adult and $15 per keiki. We went to Kihei town for something much better at a fraction of the price. Pool area is nice. Many chairs with umbrellas. The view of the infinity pool is superb especially on sunny days. Overall I think it's a good hotel but still feel too basic considering you are paying over $400 a night.

If you still want to be close to the beach and everything in Wailea this is a great option without having to pay resort fees and deal with the overwhelm of crowds. The room pictures in other reviews are pretty accurate - the rooms are clean and I love how it's laminate wood floor and not carpet because house keeping mops the floors daily which is awesome since our kids kept tracking sand into the room. Also you get a 12.50 snack credit each day an could either get 2 free tickets for the Maui Ocean Center or 2 free AC Maui beach towels for free. We decided to take the two tickets which is at least a $120 value for 2 adults which is nice. On Wednesday / Fridays they also have live music which is nice. Overall we liked this hotel since I realize we just aren't ocean front resort people - it's just too busy and crazy for us. We loved how laid back this area was especially given how close and walkable it was to coffee shops, the mall, etc.
