What a TREAT! This restaurant is a MUST if you're in the area. I have officially had the best piece…read moreof steak that I've ever had in life. Right from the Tuscany, Italy. The restauranteur greeted us so warmly and made us feel welcome. We're from NY, USA and know about 3 words in Italian but the service was so good that that wasn't even an issue. We were presented with an English menu that was very detailed and had many options to choose from. The waiter gave us suggestions based on what they liked and even encouraged us to step outside of our comfort zone and try new wines and food. I had the steak with truffles and a side of potatoes. Whatttttttttttttttttt?!!!!!!!! I am now alive. Lol. It was so tender and juicy! I ordered it medium. I got a little scoff for it. But listen. Medium was cutting it close for me. Everyone else's meat was medium rare-rare. I'm not that bold. It came out so perfect and juicy. The potatoes were seasoned so well and had the right amount of crisp on the edges. They also gifted us with a complimentary glass of Prosecco. My husband had the steak in a rosemary creamy sauce. Soooo flavorful. We're going back tonight. My mouth is watering thinking of the truffles. We also had a bottle of the house wine, which came from the restauranteur's own winery. It paired so well with our dinner. This dinner was an experience like no other. I took dessert to go. The tiramisu and another creamy pastry dish (can't remember the name!) was the perfect nightcap. Fiore is definitely an authentic Italian restaurant with authentic food. Definitely a highlight of our trip.

There was an obvious favoritism shown to the locals as there was only one couple in the restaurant when we came in and every other table that came in after us was served, ate, drank espressos, and left BEFORE we ever had our food.

What started out as a late lunch while discovering the hillside town of Peccioli. We had ducked in to pick a few pastries from the shining cold-case, and saw that there we tables open, so we said..."Wanna...?" We were so impressed with the food, the savory waffle, the steak tartar, the cheesecake and pastries. The atmosphere and loving family service made us feel like we were locals who had stopped into our regular place. We finished with a rich cup of coffee and Ferretti's famous Biscotti. Those biscotti are sooooo delicious that we had to buy a couple of containers of them for the road.... they traveled with us throughout Italy and we hoarded them for morning coffee each day. Our waiters were the sons of the owners, and they were so charming. They shared with us some of their own travels, especially in the U.S. (our home). Our advice; roam the farmers' market in the town square and, right there, stop into Pasticceria Ferretti. They even have a nice sidewalk seating area in that pedestrian only area. P.S. The town has a great parking garage with a famous modern-art foot bridge.... memorable, photogenic!

The vegetable flan with fondue was bland, osso bucco good, and penne with meat sauce was also good (a little too salty for me). Cheesecake was also bland but recommended by the waiter. The restaurant is not friendly towards those with mobility challenges. There's a cute exterior covered patio with a few dining tables but too cold for dinner in mid-February. Prices were fair. Interior is really charming with bookshelves lining all the walls and heavy with books and wine. Family friendly.

DINNER REVIEW I'm…read moregenerally no fan of traditional local restaurants since my mum is a pro in making Tuscan food, but I was brought here by a few friends coming from Piemonte and I was extremely glad they opened my eyes on this little corner. The restaurant is outside the center, in a more "industrial area" and this is why it is probably the one you want to go if you're on a business trip and would like to have some serious cooking before heading to bed. They also have an interesting new deal, since you can buy the products you eat, directly in the restaurant. The selection is wide: cured meats, the famous steak, home made jams, Tuscan cheese, jellies, durum wheat pasta, tomatoes, pickled veggies, olives, paté and of course wines and liquors. You can make your purchase online as well. As for my dinner, it was simply special: Appetizers of pickled onions, artichokes, eggplant, dried tomatoes, olives, olives paté on bread, selection of cheese with two different jams, the incredibly tasty vegetarian little tart, drowned in melted cheese Main course: tagliatelle with Porcini mushrooms, divine Second course: Florentine steak, fried mushrooms and fried vegetables All to be appreciated with different kinds of Dosio wines. It's enough to feel happy at the end of such a meal!
