This restaurant was recommended in Rick Steve's guidebook and deserved the recommendation. Outside it is rather unassuming but inside is warm and charming. They do offer inside and outside seating. For my primi, I ordered the lasagna for €13 and my secondi was the beef cheek stew and mashed potatoes (€18). The lasagna was a 5. Delicious in every way and the pasta was for real. I loved it. The meat and potatoes were very good too. The beef cheeks melted in my mouth as they were so tender. The potatoes were whipped and smooth to eat but had a slightly different after taste that spuds don't have in the US. Not bad just different. The secondi was a 4. Table service was prompt and professional. Ristorante Natalino served me an excellent dinner and left me full. I highly recommend it for a quality meal while in Firenze. read more

Wow! Like others, this was highly recommended by our concierge so we took the advice. The only open reservation they had was at 930 pm so we took it. We were a few minutes late for our reservation but the attendant at the front was quite accommodating and friendly. The person that served our food was loud, clearly in a big hurry and pretty much tried to tell us what to order and how to eat it. I thought about walking out but we wanted to experience the culture and thought maybe this was it. We ordered the Florentine steak for two which apparently (per the waiter) you can only order medium rare - so we went for it. The wife ordered lasagna and the others had some pasta dishes. Briefly after ordering the waiter started yelling again. Apparently they "ran out of lasagna" and he wanted her to select something else. Very rude by American standards. He actually said "i know you eat something besides lasagna". Very high pressure presentatation. She selected a pasta dish. They served our meal and apparently the waiter did not place her pasta order and had to confirm it again. It came out 5 minutes later - partially cooked. The steak was basically seared on both sides and that was about it which explains the quick delivery for a 1.5 kg steak. The steak was okay (still moving) and the remaining pasta dishes were okay. I am not sure if it was because we were the last reservation or if the service is just this way - but it was terrible. The front of the restaraunt was still full when we left. This made me think of a Dicks BBQ in regards to the hospitality of the waiter..... but you go to Dicks for that.... definitely one and done. read more

Before I begin, PLEASE ORDER THE PISTACHIO CHEESECAKE. It's absolutely delicious. This place was great. It felt very authentic and "homey." I decided to try something new and got the "Testaroli di grano antico fatti a mano." I wasn't quite sure on what the type of pasta it was before I ordered it, but I asked the waiter and they explained it to me perfectly (It's like "spongy" pieces of pasta that are cut into kind of like squares and triangles and then there's pesto "sauce" on top of it). It was very flavorful and I am so glad that I tried it. The two other people in my group ordered the Spicy Carbonara pasta and the Lasagna. Both dishes were also very delicious and definitely filled you up. Overall, this restaurant had a great vibe and the service was excellent. read more

So, we had an ok meal. Florentine steak was excellent, sides were good. The salt Cod was fishy and my daughter wouldn't finish it. The wine is very overpriced. But our waiter was a complete asshole. I was inquiring about the specific wines from Tuscany. He continued to ask me my price range. I said it was not about the price but about the wine i like and the vineyards I typically enjoy. He then said in front of my family and guest that he wasn't trying to embarrass me or anything but needed to know my price range. Douche bag move. I am an Italian American and I've been to Italy many times with family still living here. I make wine and have about a $40,000 collection of Super Tuscan wines in my cellar. Don't treat me like an idiot. Not all Americans are clueless fools. But then at the end of the meal I checked my bill and he charged me for two bottles of wine adding an extra $100 to my bill. I called him on it and he angrily apologized and fixed it. I would never go back and urge you to check your bill carefully if you do. read more

Ristorante Natalino may be located right in the touristic heart of historic Florence, but don't let that deter you from visiting. The food and service are absolutely excellent! As with all restaurants in Italy, be sure to make a reservation (they'll ask when you arrive). We reserved a table in advance using an app called The Fork and were promptly seated when we arrived. Our waitress was extremely attentive and helpful throughout our whole meal. She was spot on with her dinner recommendations and everything we ordered were menu items she recommended and she didn't steer us wrong. We went with the pear filled pasta with Gorgonzola sauce. I was a little hesitant about ordering pasta filled with pear but surprisingly enough it worked! The pear added added a subtle sweetness that balanced out the salty gorgonzola sauce perfectly. I'm not sure I would want to eat a whole order of the dish by myself, but when split between my sister and I it was the perfect serving size. Next up, we had the ravioli with pistachio pesto, burrata and sun dried tomatoes. YALL. If I could eat this dish every single day, I don't think I would ever get tired of it. If you come to eat here you absolutely MUST order this. Finally, for our entree we shared the beef cheeks with mashed potatoes and you can NEVER go wrong with that. If you have the Yelp app, be sure to check-in at some point during your meal. I was very surprised when I did and was taken to a check-in offer for a shot of a house liquor. Our server was a very friendly and attentive young woman who provided excellent service throughout our dinner. Here are some tips to maximize your experience: -Reservations are always recommended in Italy . You can use the app called The Fork to reserve your table here and modify your reservation if there are any changes to your itinerary. -You can do half orders of the primi piatti. We had eaten lunch earlier so weren't starving so we asked about doing a half order in addition to a full order of two different primi . Our waitress happily accommodated . -There may be a free offer if you checkin on the Yelp app. When we checked in we received an offer for a complimentary amaro (an after dinner liqueur good for digestion). When we showed our waitress she offered us Limencello shots at the end of dinner. -There are no steps in the restaurant so it may be more easily accessible for those with walking disabilities or wheelchairs . -To access the bathroom you must walk through the kitchen so say hello to the cooks who will be making your food! Okay , on to the food. There entire menu looked delicious so it was to tough to decide . Our waitress was very helpful with recommendations and we opted for a half order of the pear filled pasta with Gorgonzola sauce (Fiocchini di Pere al Gorgonzola). It was very good and the pear and Gorgonzola surprisingly "peared" perfectly together ;) we did a full order of the ravioli with pistachio pesto, burrata and sun dried tomatoes ( ravioli al pesto di pistachio , stracciatella e pomodori secchi). The outside was hard and dry and none of the fat was rendered. $75 for a steak that doesn't hold a candle to nearly any steak I've had in America. Wonderful dinner in Florence. We went a little early at 7:15 but the place filled up by 7:45. Many Italians eating here. Appetizer of smoked goose was good without being great (perhaps many cured meats are very similar in taste), but the entrees were wonderful. We had pear and Gorgonzola stuffed pasta purses in a Gorgonzola sauce which had a compliment of sweet to the cheesy and slightly sour Gorgonzola. Then had braised rabbit. Pickled artichoke in julienne strips with a thinly shaved Parmesan cheese on top for the appetizer. Entrees were spaghetti with hard clams, rabbit cooked in a mild sauce, & ossobucco. Service is very attentive even though it's a Saturday night. The ossobucco is by far the best in the city. My finicky eater is a 14 yr old boy and he wanted more of the coniglia or rabbit & the ossobucco. So tender they melt in your mouth! Really wonderful place. The zucchini salad with truffle oil and Parmesan was delicious. I want to try and re-create that at home . The ravioli with pistachio pesto, burrata and sun dried tomatoes was excellent! A real must. The flat pasta with meat sauce was very good, homemade pasta is hard to beat. We also had the fried chicken with homemade fries that were almost more consistent with potato chips,very tasty. We also had really great service by a young guy with tattoos, I feel bad I never got his name. He suggested a great glass of wine that was not mentioned on the list as being by the glass and it was spectacular. Overall a really great restaurant with a good value for your money.
