Also a seriously large built-in closet, a single futon where a third person could have slept quite comfortably, a little refrigerator, and a fancy remote-controlled air conditioner (that we didn't require). The free wifi was brilliant, both reliable and fast, altho I didn't try to stream any video lol. And, don't laugh at me, the place really smells good. Bathroom was tiny but also gleaming, had its own hi-tech light panel and lighted shaving mirror. The cramped shower boasted a rainfall head plus an extra hand-held wand, supplied with big thick soft towels and fancy soaps, much luxury in a confined space. The Henley lays on a super continental breakfast (not a full English) including tea, coffee, toast, rolls, juices, boil-your-own eggs, croissants, cereals, yogurt, apples, cheese and meat slices, jams, Nutella and more. Served in a wonderfully bright glass sun room (not a dark chamber) that was built new in 2015. Tucked away on a quiet street, we didn't hear much traffic, yet only a 2-minute walk to the Earl's Cross tube stop. Many pubs and restaurants by the tube also. Minor complaints only: no bedside clock, extremely few channels on that beautiful tv, the beds were a bit firm for me, toilet was unusually difficult to flush, very balky and underpowered lift.

Recently stayed there, and I had a bit of a mixed experience…read more The positives: the location (convenient, quiet, close to tube, etc); friendly staff; apples everywhere; very clean; comfy bed; nice breakfast, with newspapers. (The Continental breakfast is included, cooked extra). The negatives: to do with the room, really. It was on two levels, down a long corridor which felt a bit of an annex, although in reality it is one floor of the adjacent building. On the 'ground floor' level was a decent enough bathroom, with a single chair and occasional table outside. The bathroom was expensively appointed but getting a little rough around the edges. Upstairs was a sleeping platform with a huge and comfy bed, but an incredibly low ceiling, in the middle of which was a beam. It was painted purple to make it stand out, but inevitably I hit my head on it at one point. The ceiling is only 5' 9" high anyone taller would have to bend over all the time. And the beam is about 5ft off the ground, and you can only access the bed by walking past it. (See photos) The dressing table and wardrobe were up there, too, so for tall people it really would be most unpleasant. To the side of the bed was a cubby hole fitted with velvet mattresses and cushions, like a sort of snug. I'm no sure what you'd do with it, though, as you couldn't easily see the TV from it. The other problem was that above is an apartment which is not owned by the hotel. The owners (or visitors?) returned from a night out at 2am and made a lot of noise until 3.30am. Not good for me as I was working next day. I told the staff who said they would complain to the neighbours, but I'm not sure they would have much control over the situation.

The hotel's located among a row of Victorian town houses and there are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The minimalist interior was done by acclaimed British designer Anouska Hempel. Rooms are compact, have a sparse Asian feel to them and feature Molton Brown amenities. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was especially nice to return to after a long, cold day in rainy London. If you can get a decent rate (under £150; like I did on designhotels dot com) I'd definitely suggest snapping up a room here. My only complaint? They need someone stationed at the door to help with luggage - I was assisted by two friendly blokes (guests?) but it clearly wasn't their job to carry my cases. PRO TIP: Address is on Inverness Terrace but the entrance to the hotel is on Inverness Place.

The bed was very comfortable. I usually struggle on trips because the beds and pillows may be stiff, but I fell fast asleep here. There was also a desk, a mini fridge, a teapot with tea and biscuits, and a television. The TV was outdated but it still played some shows. We opted to watch Netflix on our laptop instead. There was a restaurant conveniently placed downstairs for an affordable continental breakfast. They didn't serve alcohol though; I would have liked to sit downstairs or in the garden to relax and enjoy a drink. The hookah bar downstairs was lovely, but 50 pounds for a hookah? I could not justify such a purchase. When I go out to smoke hookah, the most I've been charged was 35 dollars. The hookah bar and the restaurant connected to the garden outside, where I enjoyed the fresh air and a few cigarettes. The staff was welcoming, helpful, and attentive. I am thankful for this hotel for making our stay comfortable.

The room also smelled old and moldy. Water pressure in the bathroom was terrible and the shower curtain did absolutely nothing to prevent the water to spill over to the toilet side. Once we flushed the toilet we couldn't flush it for at least next 30 minutes, it was so weird. The toilet also didn't have a cover and the water splashed out of the toilet on to the toilet seat and God knows where else. The bathroom sink was also right next to the toilet so if you have mobility issues good luck. The bathroom looked equipped with safety features but it was still dangerous due to mold, water spilling, no toilet seat cover when you can't flush for next 30 minutes after the first one and the placement of toilet seat in relation to the sink. It was very very weird. We had to pee and could not flush the toilet. Thank god we didn't have to go no. 2 right after one another because THERE WAS NO COVER! YOU CAN'T COVER YOUR POO AND YOU CAN'T FLUSH IF SOMEONE USED THE TOILET BEFORE YOU!!

Thankfully, Yotel rents by the hour (minimum 4 hours). You can reserve ahead or pop up on the day of and see if they have any available rooms. Max capacity of the rooms is only 2 people. Kids over 5 count as a guest, so if you are traveling with a kid or more, you'll probably need 2 rooms. To my knowledge, they do not have connecting rooms. We got two queen rooms. The beds are comfortable, and there's a decent rain shower in the bathroom. The rooms are not completely noise proof, but we were certainly more comfortable there than in the lounges or restaurants for so many hours. That was a good use of money, in my opinion. I'll happily use their services again if I find myself in a similar situation.

It is also very well placed to explore the area and restaurants of Putney. It is a well-priced London hotel with free parking, and accessible while avoiding the ultra-low emission zone. The staff are really helpful when needed, and we were lucky enough to have our room upgraded when we arrived. The room we were in was really nice, the bed was really comfortable and huge, and the coffee machine in the room was a great bonus. The fitness centre in the hotel also has everything you need for a trip away. Would recommend this hotel to a friend in a heartbeat.
