Worth Every Mile!…read more Before heading out of town for my family reunion, I came into Atlanta to see one of my girlfriends. I told her to find us a place where we could enjoy some good food and drinks. She picked **Fade & Facet** in Duluth, and although it was about a 40minute drive from Austell, let me tell you it was absolutely worth every mile. When we arrived, it was raining a little, but parking was easy since it's located in a strip mall. The outside is beautifully lit with neon signs, flowers, and plenty of photo worthy spots. I'm actually upset we got so caught up talking, eating, and enjoying ourselves that we forgot to take pictures! That just means I'll have to come back. As soon as you walk in, the vibe hits you. Great music, beautiful décor, a lively bar, and several seating areas including a private room where you can reserve space for hookah stick drinks... gathering. If you're looking for a girls' night, date night, double date, birthday celebration, or just a fun evening out, this is definitely the place. Wear something cute for the Photo ops We went on a Thursday evening, and I highly recommend it if you want to enjoy the atmosphere without the huge Friday and Saturday crowds. There was one birthday party there, but it didn't take away from our experience at all. Now let's talk about the service... **Jayda** was amazing, and **Lindsay **our bartender/Manager was everything you want behind a bar. She created one of the best drinks I've had in a long time the **Los Paradise**, made with tequila, mango, and lychee! It was beautiful, creative, smooth, and absolutely delicious. Every drink recommendation she gave us was spot on. She also made the experience personal because she sat down at Eye Level and talked to us and took our order. She was veryAnd just awesome There's a little disc on your table so pay attention to it because this is where you scan one side to get the menu and you can scan the other side to do a Google review. Do not ask for a menu it is right there on that disc.  What impressed me most was how the staff worked together. Whenever Lindsay got busy, Jayda checked on us without missing a beat. That's true teamwork. I also noticed a gentleman walking around who just gave off "owner" energy. Sure enough, he was! I had the chance to chat with him and hear the story behind Fade & Facet. He checked on guests throughout the evening, making sure everyone was enjoying themselves. You don't see that level of hospitality everywhere anymore. We ordered: * **Seafood Island Spring Rolls**  crispy rolls stuffed with salmon, crab, shrimp, peppers, onions, and pepper jack cheese. Absolutely delicious. It came with some red cabbage, and I actually wrapped the red cabbage around the spring roll and dip it in the sauce and man. It was so good!!! * **Grilled Lamb Chops** perfectly seasoned and served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus, and their sweet-savory plum sauce. Which took it over the top my girlfriend said while we were Order oh, I don't want them. Oh I don't eat lamb and she actually had my lamb and took one of my chops so annoyed you only get three they were tender too!  * **Oxtails**  rasta pasta tender, flavorful, and served with coconut rice and plantains. Comfort food done right. My girlfriend ordered lobster, but it missed but Linsay apologized immediately and fixed it without hesitation. That's what great customer service looks like. One thing I really appreciated was that they close at 11 p.m. on Thursdays, yet no one rushed us out. We were allowed to finish our food, enjoy our drinks, relax, and continue our conversation. That level of hospitality made the night even better. I also love supporting Black owned businesses, especially one that's been around and continues to provide such a quality experience. Between the amazing food, creative cocktails, attentive staff, music, décor, and all the Instagram/ tik tok worthy photo spots including the iconic Fade & Facet wall this place exceeded every expectation I didn't have. I thought I was gonna come here when I saw the videos on tik tok and just get Photo ops, but that's not what happened If you're in Atlanta or even if you're 30 to 40 minutes away make the drive. Grab your friends, your significant other, or your family and make an evening of it. You won't regret it. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Atlanta. And if you go tell them Dee from Philly sent you!

I ordered the catfish with hushpuppies, and my friend ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, and sautéed bell peppers. The food was okay. The mashed potatoes were tasty. That was the highlight of our meal. Now, the service was poor. Our server kept disappearing for long periods of time, and it was very frustrating. Most of the servers need a class on customer service and waiting tables, but I guess no one cares when you get your tip regardless of how you treat your customers. I feel like this place should have been packed on a Saturday night, but it wasn't. Sapphire has the potential to be great, but there is most definitely a lot of work to be done, starting with the staff and possibly advertise more.

They have a few TVs for viewing and had a live belly dancer briefly perform. They didn't have a DJ. It seems like they were playing music from a music playlist, which was a mix of RnB and Hip Hop. Their menu has food, drink, and hookah options. They had nothing on the menu except for Suya; so, we didn't have food. The drinks were pretty good and reasonably priced, given that they were served in plastic cups. The hookah was pretty good and lasted awhile. The sign would advise they open at 5, but doors wouldn't open until nearly an hour later. They would frequently do grocery runs to Walmart then charge you the same amount for items such as wings that were clearly different and finally arrived right before they close the lounge. So you literally had to box them, then pay your bill to close..... With that said, The recent visit I made last week was MUCH better. Decor of this locale is real loungy and sleek. Nice ambiance for a Gwinnett experience...The staff is very pleasant, and the Siracha wings are amazing!!! Presentation was so simple but nice... My friend got another chicken dish, that kinda looked like a Cordon Bleu, and that was quite tasty as well. Drinks are fair, (tiny portions with ice), and the music is good. Mix of African/Reggae/HipHop. In all, I recommend this place if the consistency stays like this....but I had to be honest about my previous experiences.

"There's something magical about rooftops. You feel like you're in 'Mary Poppins."…read moreGeorge Clarke There really is something special about being on a rooftop on a perfect summer evening, and it's great to have it right in downtown Sugar Hill. I would like to say I planned the perfect date, but as some of the best things in life, this was just an impromptu visit to cap off an already great evening. Outside of being on the rooftop, the bar itself is upscale yet approachable, service was fast and friendly. Being a bit of a self engrandized home bartender I'm a bit critical when out of my home lab, but their Smoked Old Fashioned wasn't bad. ("Wasn't bad" really means very good.") While I don't love the prices and hate paying a cover charge, when you throw in live music, a great vibe, and a view, I can't really complain. The owner made an announcement that whoever tipped the band $10 would get a free drink, and since most drinks were over $15 I thought that was cool on many levels. Will definitely be back to The Rooftop!

We walked around and finally ran into a waitress who told us to sit anywhere we wished inside or outside. The only area festive was inside a closed igloo and no heaters were on outdoors which was just a tad too cool for me despite the super nice weather that day. It would have been so to sit outside but without the warmth of the heaters we headed inside. We placed our order and explained we were just there for a pre-dinner drink and wanted to check out the venue so we didn't leave our tab open but we were quickly served the fabulous taking drinks on their menu(s). The Old Fashioned was on the regular menu and the Russian was on their seasonal tabletop menu. Server was very nice and took photos for some ladies we met. The only reason I can't give them a 5 star is they claim they are big on hospitality but yet we were not acknowledged upon arrival. Many restaurants and even some retail stores have a way to ensure they say hello/welcome immediately when you enter and without a hostess - the mindset should be that the bar or wait staff have a way to immediately say hello or welcome so those who have never been feel welcomed as well as those who frequently come. It would be nice to have a more festive decor for the holidays but that didn't affect my review; just a statement to say that the entire Sugar Hill area was pumping and themed with the holiday spirit then we walked in the only area decorated was not even accessible nor was it offered as an option to enjoy.

One star, and that's for the jackass at the front…read more I wish I had gotten his name because I would absolutely put it here, and I will be putting him on blast. He was rude, ignorant, and a straight-up coward for the way he spoke to a group of women. Puffing his chest out, cursing at us like he wanted to fight--completely out of line. It would have been a whole different vibe if men had been with us. Let me be clear: this is 100% about security, not the establishment. I actually enjoyed the place. We were there for my daughter's birthday, had a great time, and our waitress was top-notch--super sweet. We paid for a section, which came with a bottle of wine, and were told we could take it if we didn't finish it. At the end of the night, my daughter walked out with the unopened bottle. It wasn't bagged. This security guard lost his mind--cursing at her and at me, telling us to "get the fuck out" and "don't come back." I tried to explain no one gave us a bag, but he didn't listen and didn't care. I have never felt so threatened over something so small. He completely ruined what had been a great night. I did call afterward, and someone was very apologetic and said they would handle it. I hope they actually review the footage, because his behavior toward a group of non-aggressive women was rude, aggressive, and unacceptable. We were honestly just confused by the whole situation. Yes, I understand the rules about taking alcohol out, but it wasn't bagged and we had been drinking--maybe we should have asked, but still, that didn't justify his behavior. I don't blame the waitress much; she had a lot going on and probably forgot. The villain of the night was that one stupid-ass security guard. His delivery was everything. All he had to do was calmly tell my daughter to go back in and get a bag. Instead, he chose to curse and threaten us. What a poor excuse for a black man. I liked the establishment, but I won't spend money somewhere that hires people like that. To that security guard: talk to your mom, your sisters, or any woman in your life--because you clearly don't know how to respect women. You're a coward, and you wouldn't talk to me

But let's talk about the food because it deserves its own spotlight. The hummus was unbelievably fresh. Smooth, rich, perfectly balanced with olive oil and seasoning. You can taste that it's made with care, not just scooped from a container. And the jajeh kabobs? Tender, juicy, and seasoned all the way through. Every bite had that straight-off-the-grill flavor that makes you pause mid-conversation just to appreciate it. What really took the night over the top was the hospitality. The owner heard it was my birthday and didn't just send a quick "happy birthday" from afar. He came out from the back himself, brought out complimentary cheesecake, and even took a couple shots of tequila with me. That's not customer service. That's genuine celebration. Great food. Smooth hookah. Real hospitality. I walked in for dinner and left feeling like family. If you're looking for a spot that feeds you well and celebrates you loud, this is it.
