Took it out for a test drive, liked it, returned, and asked them if anything was wrong with it. They told me it was absolutely fine....that it was an older car but their mechanic looked at it and was in great condition. I bought it, paid in full, and drove it home. The next day, I noticed a burning smell coming from the engine while driving to get groceries. Thinking it was spilled oil, I took a look and didn't find anything. Checked all the fluids, etc. Had someone else look too, but he didn't find anything either. The smell persisted and I could see smoke coming out from under the hood and it was concerning. Got some quotes from several mechanics, and was pretty upset that to diagnose/fix the issue was going to be so costly. Called up the dealership less than a week after buying it and they basically told me too bad....their mechanic doesn't look at/work on cars they already sold. Since I spent all my savings to buy the car, I have to save up some cash before I can take it to a mechanic. I drive 3 miles to work....6 miles round trip....and the engine completely seized up and the car died halfway home less than 3 weeks after purchasing. My new-to-me car is now sitting completely dead in my driveway and I'm looking at a HUGE cost to get it running again.....money I do not have. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE. They lie about the condition of the car and take advantage of you.

When I went to pick up my car from being serviced, they even pulled it around for me instead of just giving me the key and telling me where it was. Just an extra step that really made me feel valued as a customer and want to come back. My uncle and mom have also been here as well and said they've received great service every visit/phone call. He looked at the car for me and could barely open the hood of the car. He kindly explained to me that I had bought a lemon and that the car was obviously involved in a front end collision. He also gently explained the lemon laws in the New Orleans because I was understandably freaking out. I had bought the car with the stipulation that it was contingent on my mechanic checking it out. Well the place I bought it which I won't name because I hate hurting people's welfare were a bunch of jerks and I had to hire a lawyer to return this lemon and get a new car. *sigh* Anyway, Vince is great and I have work colleagues who only go to him. My high school friend said that I should have asked him to find a used car for me and he would find me a deal. Oh well, the power of hindsight. Anyway, now that my car warranty is done, I will probably bring Ruby Dee (my red SUV, and yes I'm aware that I named her after an acclaimed African American actress and that's because my car is a refined lady dammit!) to Vince.
