This is going to be my new go to spot for any service I need done on my car. A real big shout out to Nick for providing such great service and really going above and beyond to make sure we understood everything the car needed and what it would cost/why. I did not feel taken advantage of, and that says a lot coming from a younger woman where most places do try to get as much money out of you as they can. When I went to pick up my car from being serviced, they even pulled it around for me instead of just giving me the key and telling me where it was. Just an extra step that really made me feel valued as a customer and want to come back. My uncle and mom have also been here as well and said they've received great service every visit/phone call. Went to Tim's twice; once to diagnose an issue with my starter and a second time to get a safety inspection prior to a long roadtrip and to get the drive belt replaced. They do good work, but ended up outsourcing to get most of their recommendations anyways because the prices are comparable to the dealership. For some of the more basic or routine maintenance items I went to Allen's automotive in Metairie because they were more affordable and easier to work with on smaller items. Between the dealership, Allen's, and DIY on very basic level items I must've saved at least 1k for the same quality and level of work needed to keep my car safe. I appreciate them pointing out what needed to be done tho, cut time troubleshooting for the other shops. I'd only recommend this shop if you as a customer are keen about sticking to one shop and are ok with paying dealership prices. They're very upfront about it being a premium price point. They did not like that I chose to go with other businesses after the safety inspection I initially had. read more

I brought my 2010 Toyota Sienna to Tim's and was quoted over $13,000 in repairs -- including a new steering rack, suspension components, CV axles, brakes, radiator, and more. I dealt directly with Nick, who walked me through the issues and quoted a high-cost diagnostic after the test drive. Concerned, I took the car to a trusted mechanic for a second opinion -- and was told almost everything Tim's claimed was wrong simply wasn't. No leaking steering rack No CV issues Brakes had plenty of life left (around 60% in front, 35-40% in rear) Any "leaks" Tim's referred to were actually minor, non-urgent seepage Overall, the car was described as being in excellent shape for its mileage I was charged $250 for the diagnostic, which felt excessive -- especially when Tim's website implies diagnostics are free with work, yet this diagnostic was not applied toward any service. I fail to see how the results justified the price. It's deeply frustrating to think I could've been convinced to pay thousands for unnecessary work. I don't know if this was dishonesty or just extremely aggressive upselling, but either way, the experience was predatory, not professional. I just picked up my car from Tim's after they gave it an overhaul the past couple of days. I spent a good bit of money, but my almost-20-year-old Honda Pilot needed a lot of work to keep it running safely. Tim's is 100% the most professional auto shop I've ever been to. They run a complete computer scan and send you a full report on what they find, good and bad. When they work on your car they keep you updated with timing and any changes along the way. And they make appointments for service (if not urgent) instead of keeping your car for a few days before even getting around to checking it out (that's what my previous place does). I plan to go for all future service so they can keep up with warranties and check on potential issues that are okay now but likely need addressing in another year or so. I worked with Brian this visit and he was helpful and informative. I'm glad I've found an auto shop I trust. read more

In this business you get what you pay for. Diagnostics does a great job and enables you to know what needs to be done. Oil change, a/c freon added, new cabin filter, drive belt & new wiper blades. Doesn't seem like a lot but that's the maintenance on the vehicle that needs to be done on a consistent basis that Tim's does very well. No excuses just the work. read more

This is a very uncommon auto repair shop these days. They did a very thorough evaluation of all systems on my son's car and provided an outstanding itemized report on conditions found, recommendations and degree of urgency for each recommendation (Red, Yellow & Green). Nick told us up front that they are not trying to be the cheapest shop in the area but they provide extraordinary customer service. Finished the work before they said they would. The only complaint I have is that when we showed up to pay for the work and pick up the car, they informed us they do not take personal checks and absolutely refused to back down even though this was not disclosed up front. They stated that they were concerned my check might bounce. . This is the only thing preventing me from giving them a 5-Star rating. I scheduled an appointment online which was easy. They emailed me the next morning and let me drop off my car. I was nervous because I was leaving for vacation and being a Woman we get trampled on by the car repair shops but I did not feel like that at all. They sent me pictures of what a part should look like compared to what mine looked like. They gave suggestions on what I should take care of at this point and a list of what could wait until another time. Also my repairs cost $3,000, I'm not sure who has that kind of cash laying around so they helped me apply for a care credit card with 6months interest free which helps so much. I will never take my care anywhere else. I'm just sad that I've lived here for 3 years and am just finding out about them. read more

I cannot speak to the quality of their work but I can warn of their diagnostics scam. I made an appointment for brake repair and was told they would do a computer diagnostics check on my entire vehicle. I received the results and their pricing. Their quote was ridiculously high and I told them I could not afford to hire them. I went to pick up my car and was handed a bill for over $50 for the diagnostics I did not request. The diagnostics program, while impressive, is nothing but an up-selling scam. They do not give you the choice of declining the service, nor do they tell you that they charge for it. I don't know of any other shop that charges for estimates, and if I wanted to pay for a dog and pony show, I'd see dogs and ponies. read more

Like Kurt's review says, seems like a SCAM (Should've read his review before I went there this morning) I will only say that maybe they should warn you about the inspection price before you drop your car off. You will pay $95.56 regardless on wether your car needs anything or not. I came in because I wanted to change my brakes which the guy who changed my tires said I needed done, so that should've been enough inspection. So they went ahead and did extra inspection, even my wiper blades needed change which last time I was here I didn't give them the "ok" to do it and they did it anyway. When I told Nick that maybe there should be a warning that the inspection I didn't need would be charged, Nick, yelled and said that the inspection was for my brakes! I can't stress how rude Nick was, then when I told him to not yell, he did started to apologize, but I hung up by then, I was too mad for his drama. I can't believe I even told people about this place and how good it was before. Note: Even though the "inspection" price goes into the price of the labor, the only reason I didn't agree with the brake change was because they wanted to Charge me $1746 for my front brakes. So they milked the "inspection" price. read more

Very expensive with questionable quality. Here is the good, the bad and the ugly: The good: the digital vehicle inspection is nice. They do a decent job of going over your vehicle with a fine-tooth comb. The bad: Very expensive parts/labor. The repairs quoted were much higher than market norms. It is normal for mechanics to upcharge some for parts - they got to make money, right? However, this is basically price gouging. For example, they quoted me $600 for ball joints (parts only), when top of the line ball joints for my vehicle are $200. That is a 300% mark up! The ugly: Attention to detail and quality is questionable. For example, when they inspected the vehicle, they did not properly screw in the radiator cap afterwards. After picking up my vehicle and driving home, I found a large puddle of coolant under my vehicle with fluid bubbling out of the radiator! Hard to trust their quality if they cannot execute basic tasks. read more

These guys are great! You set an appointment and they are ready for you. After a few hours they send you a health report on your vehicle via txt and email. I'm often busy and can't get to it right away but don't worry they will follow up shortly and make sure to give you the run down. Most mechanics you have to hound to fix your vehicle and they may not even give you a price before the work is completed. Not Tims! Greedy, greedy greedy! I purchased tires here along with a warranty. They would not honor the warranty unless I had additional work done such as another diagnostic for $55 to see if they can find something that's not really necessary at this time since I just had work done at the dealership. Everything they quoted with the first diagnostic was higher priced than the dealership. You know dealerships are not the cheapest. Their excuse is they give longer warranties. Who wants to pay $150 more than a dealership for tire sensors because of a three year warranty??!! In three years anything can happen I may. It own this car by then! In over 50 year of driving I have NEVER had a mechanic refuse to honor their warranty to rotate my tires unless I had other work done. Like I said before. Greedy, greedy, greedy. read more

High technology with high quality. I am a first-time customer. They took the car and before any work was done I receive a very detailed list of the status of a number of areas for the car. Some, like the transmission fluid and filter needed to be done right away, and other issues can wait. They took time to explain every area and answer any questions. We agreed on which items to complete and which to defer and the work was done quickly and correctly. They are looking into some parts for a future repair to give me a detailed estimate for the cost and when the work can be done. I went in to get my tire changed out and they were so thorough, checked everything, sent me estimates, recommendations, and ended up finding serious issues that my past mechanics missed! Everyone was extremely nice and accommodating, they even have a courtesy shuttle who will drive you somewhere and pick you up so you don't have to wait at the garage! I was even given a goodie bag when I picked up my car with brochures on deals, candy, a cookie and pen- so sweet! A week later I got a hand written card in the mail thanking me for my business. This place has the fastest service I've ever gotten when having car maintenance done and again, I cannot express how nice everyone was.
