Kitchen cabinets

It's been two years since we worked with them, but I just recommended this company again- I had the best experience and super quick turn around time- highly recommend them! I only wish I also had them do my install - see them first before you commit to another contractor!

After ICA took out the old cabinets, we hired another contractor to open up the wall behind the refrigerator.

After the purchase was completed, I was contacted and told that their supplier had increased pricing and that I would need to pay an additional $183.40 for them to fulfill the order. When I declined, they stated they would not honor the original price and refused to complete the transaction. This is not a pricing issue from the customer's perspective -- it is a failure on the seller's side to properly manage inventory and supplier pricing before charging a customer's credit card. Once an order is confirmed and payment is taken, the expectation is that the seller will honor the agreed price. Attempting to pass along post-sale cost increases to the customer is not an acceptable business practice. I offered multiple reasonable solutions, all of which were rejected as "non-negotiable." The company ultimately chose not to honor a confirmed and paid order. Buyers should be aware that pricing shown at checkout may not be honored after payment is processed. I would not recommend doing business with this company.

The installers (no idea who they are or how to contact them) did a subpar job. Upon closer review, there is a large gap between the counter and the wall and the installers did not use silicone or caulk to finish the space. It was not like this with my old countertop that they removed. I reached out to Rock Counter and they advised me to "ask my contractor" to fix it. I don't have a contractor. I literally replaced my countertops. She then reached out to the installers and they told me (by my iPhone photo) that my wall was crooked and they can't do anything about it. I pushed back and said that it is impossible to see by a photo. My complaint was forwarded on to the owner of Wonder Counters and I received this response: "He viewed your photographs and he advised that your bathroom walls are quite crooked and require a handyman or contractor to use spakle and silicone to fix that extensive gap, as caulk will not do the job. Angie's List, Home Advisor and Task Rabbit are places you could find someone who is willing to do this work for you. Hope you're able to find someone or know of a friend who is handy." Not only did they not do a good job, I now have to hire somebody ELSE to come fix it. Based off of an iPhone photo. I can easily say I won't use Rock Counter or Wonder Counters for my kitchen (next project).

Really beautiful tile, but super stressful experience due to poor packaging, extensive breakage,…read moreand no return policy. We had 8 of 18 sheets of mosaic tiles delivered chipped and sent photos, but the Tile Room would only replace 2. Over half our special-order large format tile (4 of 7 boxes) was also found to be cracked upon delivery. I noted on the paperwork the top tile was broken but the rest had yet to be inspected and called/sent photos as soon as I discovered the extent of the damage, within 2 hours of delivery. The salesperson believed it was damage that happened on the job (even though the delivery driver took photos as well), so I had to write up an extensive explanation. They did end up replacing those boxes, but not without trying to charge me for them. This was for our first bathroom renovation, so we went with the amounts the tile consultant recommended. 10% extra was not nearly enough for either of the large format tiles we ordered, so after reordering to replace the broken tiles, we had to place additional orders once demo began. (They also recommended I purchase 4 bags of grout when we used less than 2.) I will say the salesperson was quick to respond and place orders, but each one took 7-10 days to arrive which resulted in significant delays, a major inconvenience for a family of 5 using one bathroom. When I e-mailed for updates (as is typical in my line of work), the response was that I needed to "calm down and relax" and that they were losing money on my order. I found that pretty condescending and have to wonder if he would have made the same comment to a man. I understand that our delivery was probably unusual, but a company should stand behind their product (replacing only 2 of 8 sheets of chipped mosaics is not acceptable). We have since ordered tile online from 2 other stores for a 2nd bathroom renovation, and all those were well-packed and suffered ZERO breakage. The customer care reps were all really helpful and kind too. And with good return policies, I was able to return the extra unopened boxes with no questions asked. Go to the Tile Room to look and feel the tile, but do not purchase from here. I mistakenly thought purchasing from a brick-and-mortar store would be better than online, but with the extensive breakage and subsequent lead time needed for any additional orders, not to mention a no return policy, it was a nightmare. Go see the tile in person if you must, but place your order elsewhere.

While this is by no means a small business, it is not a big box store. When I was looking for tile,…read moreI found a tile I liked that I could have purchased from Home Depot, but I chose to purchase from Studio 41 to support a smaller business. They did a price match. I mistakenly placed too large of an order and needed to cancel part of it before pick up. Though the return policy clearly states that they do returns for a restocking fee, they will not do returns for "special orders," and apparently nearly everything is a special order....even a tile carried by Home Depot. I now have too much tile, and no way to return it. I wish I would have just ordered from Home Depot.

We talked to confirm measurements, etc. and he always followed up quickly. He was present when the cabinets were delivered and quickly replaced a damaged cabinet. Ofer was patient, knowledgeable, and never pushy -- he took the time to walk us through our options and helped us feel confident in our decisions. We went with Orange Cabinetry, a more budget-friendly brand that Ofer endorsed in terms of quality and customer service. Even though there was a delay in stock (which we were informed about in advance), the team encouraged us to stick with the sage green color we really loved instead of settling for something else just to speed things up. I'm so glad we waited -- the cabinets are beautiful, well-built, and exactly what we wanted. We've gotten a ton of compliments. Planet Cabinets also helped us source Jeffrey Alexander hardware, and their support with sizing and quantities made that process easy. Overall, we felt informed, supported, and never rushed. Highly recommend Planet Cabinets if you're looking for a company that balances affordability with honest, thoughtful service.
