A few said they couldn't do it at all because of the design, a few said that I would have to bring it to them (which I have no way of doing), and a few quoted prices that were just too high. Abdullah responded to my request very quickly, gave me a good price that included pickup and delivery, and was able to schedule me within a day. The installer, Alan, showed up on time and took the mirror down the elevator by himself, fixed it within a few hours, and then returned it the same day and helped put it back in the slide. To top it all off, I was able to do almost the entire process through text/email, which for me is a big deal. It was quick, priced well, and very professional. Also, the new mirror looks great. The bathtub almost killed my elderly mother when she slipped and fell trying to step out, so I decided to kill the bathtub before it ended her. Prior to the job, the tub always had drain issues and the water would pool up - due to old/poor drain design. I shopped around for quotes and I will tell you exactly why I went with JoBre Design and Renovation: -JoBre was the most knowledgeable of all the quotes I recieved prior, even from as big as Kohler, and other small contractors - JoBre impressed me with the extensive knowledge when coming to my house and examining everything. -JoBre identified issues and possible issues that were completely missed by other contractors. -The estimate wasn't the most expensive one, but not the cheapest. It was also clear that there could be other issues due to what they find behind the walls. The estimate did not skyrocket, as all additional work and recieipts of sub-contractors brought in were presented at the time issues were found such as: Rotted wood window frame from water damage due to loose tiles. Plumbing/drain issues from out of compliance old plumbing. My priority was SAFETY FIRST, then functionality and design. I am not a design person what so ever, so I asked JoBre to make all of the decisions and choose all of the supplies. JoBre just checked with me on colors and basics before proceeding, which I was fine with. The time estimate to complete was 1 week or less. Because of the unexpected issues that came up, it took approximately a week and a half, and JoBre was literally working 10-12 or more hours a day working to make everything PERFECT and flawless, weekends, weekdays. Just doing demolition on the old tub took an entire day with a sledgehammer, because the tub was old pure cast iron that weighed in excess of 500 pounds. I had a junkyard put me in contact with someone to pick it up - I didn't want to pay extra to have a dumpster outside the house for such small pieces. As you can see the shower is now amazing and JoBre perfected the tiling work one piece at a time. Soft close shower door, drains fast, sprays more water - it is 100% better than what it was. I highly recommend JoBre if you want the job done right and to perfection. If you're looking for a "quickie" express job, JoBre may not be for you - but I can tell you that JoBre will do everything right and keep you informed every step of the way to make sure everything is done right. To add more safety, after these photos I added a Gorilla Grip bathmat and a Stone mat for when you exit the shower.

One Star is Too Generous -- A Year-Long Nightmare with Lowe's Patio Door Installation…read more If you're thinking of using Lowe's for patio door installation, run in the other direction. What should've been a simple project turned into a year-long disaster filled with incompetence, miscommunication, and total lack of accountability. It took over 12 months, 100+ emails, and dozens of phone calls to finally get the job barely finished. The original installation was botched. No one followed up. Every time I called, I was passed around like a hot potato between departments that had no idea what was going on. They promised callbacks that never came. They scheduled visits that were never confirmed or simply didn't happen. I had to chase them down constantly just to get basic updates. What's worse? Absolutely no compensation for the countless hours I wasted, the stress, or the inconvenience of having a wrecked install, allowing elements inside, losing heat/AC and being an eyesore in my home for months. They damaged my walls, used high expansion foam and smeared the trim and new door itself, used a 2x4 to cover up the hole above the door because the door was measured wrong- that 2x4 eventually fell and almost struck me coming in the house. Lowe's did nothing to make it right on their own accord. Zero accountability. Zero urgency. Zero customer service. I had to fight and claw my way to get the slowest of responses. Every phone call was a shouting match, every email was condescending and had no concrete answers. It took over 14 months to get the situation fixed, they originally wanted to refund me and call it even. EVEN? the door needed to be replaced after the poor install job and it wasn't the right size! They wanted to get rid of me at no cost to them. They eventually fixed it 14months later and they offered me $150 for my trouble. $150 for 14months of headache and heating and cooling bills that were out of control due to the air gaps and energy loss. That compensation of $150 came out to $10 for every month I had to deal with the door and them. UNREAL. Bottom line: They originally said they would fix the wall and then they realized it was too much work and took back their offer to fix it. I would never recommend Lowe's installation services to anyone. Save yourself the stress. Go literally anywhere else. The safety of a big box company being reputable is a myth, the bigger the store the less they care about a single customer's issue.
