I placed an order with Chicago Faucet Shoppe for an American Standard faucet, received an order confirmation, and my credit card was charged at the agreed price. After the purchase was completed, I was contacted and told that their supplier had increased pricing and that I would need to pay an additional $183.40 for them to fulfill the order. When I declined, they stated they would not honor the original price and refused to complete the transaction. This is not a pricing issue from the customer's perspective -- it is a failure on the seller's side to properly manage inventory and supplier pricing before charging a customer's credit card. Once an order is confirmed and payment is taken, the expectation is that the seller will honor the agreed price. Attempting to pass along post-sale cost increases to the customer is not an acceptable business practice. I offered multiple reasonable solutions, all of which were rejected as "non-negotiable." The company ultimately chose not to honor a confirmed and paid order. Buyers should be aware that pricing shown at checkout may not be honored after payment is processed. I would not recommend doing business with this company. read more

I had a really esoteric 1980s brass faucet thing needing replacement. Plumbers said just call the Faucet Shoppe. All over email the got me the exact parts and I had an uber deliver to me! Fixed it same day but accidentally stripped a thread on one of the gaskets. I drove over and they replaced the part for free for me! Insanely great service and prices. Leak fixed! Worst Customer Service Ever Before ordering a replacement thermostatic cartridge I called to verify whether they had the "old" style cartridges or only the "new" style. The customer service rep said they had 4 in stock and pulled 1 from the stock and described it to me. The description matched the "old" style and picture on the box, so I ordered immediately after hanging up with her. I even split the order in 2 so that I could get the in stock items right away while waiting for the out of stock items (resulting in double shipping cost). Once I received the part it did not match the description she gave me or the picture on the box. I asked about returning it and she said there would be a 25% (~$25) restocking fee. I asked if that could be waived since it didn't match the description that was given to me over the phone. I was transferred to a manager/supervisor who was the most arrogant, condescending , belligerent, and irrational person I have ever experienced in my 38 years of being in the customer service/management business. His opening remark after getting on the line was "so what's the problem?". I explained the issue and he said I ordered the wrong part. He could not possibly known that because I never told him what fixture it was for. I told him the part was correct according to the fixture manufacturer. He said they were wrong and he knew their parts better than they do (huh?). I asked him what part he thought I needed but he wouldn't tell me. Then he said if I sent a picture of the part he could provide me the correct part. I again told him the part simply didn't match the description I was provided prior to ordering, or the picture on the box. If he wanted a picture all he had to do was look at the box if the item (said they still had 4 in stock (even after 1 was shipped to me?). Multiple times during the conversation he mentioned how valuable his time was. Obviously it isn't very valuable or he would have realized that waiving the ~$25 restocking fee would have been cheaper than disputing my request for 15 minutes. It also would have been more financially beneficial for them than losing all future business with me. I will not be doing any more business with them, and I suspect they will make up some baloney excuse for my experience. read more

This place is amazing. You walk in and it is like an ode to your kitchen/bathroom. It is beautiful laid out up across the high ceilings almost like a practical modern art museum. The staff are super helpful and have a mom and pop feel with clear expertise in their respective domains. They quickly got me what I needed and I was on my way. THE place to go when you need plumbing parts! The brand range of the staff's knowledge is amazing. They are very helpful. They appear to have a vast inventory of every valve, washer, part ... you could need when doing a plumbing project. I was sent here by my plumber to get the parts (thereby saving me $$ paying the plumber to drive over). The folks at the Faucet Shoppe have a motto "Bring samples". You bring them the old broken part and they - like magic - go get the exact part you need. In my case, I also had part numbers from the manufacturer's help line (Kudos to Grohe) for about half of the parts I needed - for the rest, the Faucet shoppe staff quickly found the right parts. The following week I called to see how it was going since I hadn't heard anything. Hector said he remembered the situation & since it was slow that day he'd have time to look into it. That was Monday the 11th. Still no contact from Hector. I've shopped there in the past but will no longer. I hate when I see people with relatively easy jobs that still manage to be so incompetent. Then multiple phone calls later with their lack of urgency we did not receive for 3 weeks with no refund for the over night shipping until Spoke with a gentleman in the office who read multiple notes and tried to get the item shipped asap. When we had to return do to the contractor getting the part sooner they denied our return due to their store policy $800.00 faucet. That will be the last time we order from this company. read more

I needed a new faucet and originally was going to go to a generic big box store like Home Depot. My building engineer recommended this local shop instead and told me that this is where many local Chicago engineers and plumbers shop for their parts, because of their fair prices and expertise. The people here are very knowledgeable and provide fast, quick, service. When I arrived, there was a line of 8 or so people. You grab a ticket number to hold your place in line. The line moved decently fast and I only had to wait 15-20 mins with 8 people in front of me. read more

This is a true Chicago gem. Ace didn't have what I needed and they sent me here. They had every rubber washer under the sun and presented me with 2 options. Sadly neither worked in my vintage diverter, so we called in a. plumber. He declared it busted and sent me back to The Faucet Shoppe for a replacement. The ideal fixture was labeled discontinued everywhere on the internet. They had one in stock! They also had top tier sealant. Kind, generous, well stocked and uber helpful. My faucet supply hose failed early Saturday AM flooding the kitchen. Unfortunately the part had been discontinued 2 years prior With none available anywhere in my area. After spending considerable time on line I found this store to contact Monday morning. I waited over 30 min. on hold to reach customer service who informed me they didn't have original part but they had an alternate that would work in stock for $39. She gave me the part #, said I qualified for free shipping which would take 7 days. Reviews on the part working were all positive so I ordered it on line. The shipping options were very confusing. Ground was free but they had several FedEx options. To get it faster I paid $12 for FedEx flat rate (checked the FedEx site to verify) & immediately received order confirmation: Wednesday I emailed CS as I hadn't gotten any tracking info. Their response was lead time after order placement is 2-4 business days before it even ships to me, & then 2-3 business days to arrive. The FedEx option I selected and paid for was the same as their ground. It shipped on Friday FIVE DAYS after my order. And of course Sat & Sun are not business days which added an extra 2 days to the delivery time. 1 star off for excessive phone wait time 1 star off for confusing shipping instructions on line & keeping my unnecessary shipping cost 1 star off for a ridiculous amount of time to process an in-stock order 1 star off for being expensive (I found the original hose in Canada for $8.71) read more

Bought a Kohler replacement cartridge and it was missing two parts. Contacted licensed plumber who then purchased another Kohler cartridge from them and installed it and it was defective. They refused any refund or adjustment. Not recommended. Check reputable plumbing supply houses that stand behind there products. read more

We were having issues with our Dornbracht faucets, and our plumber (from D&B Plumbing) recommended we go to The Faucet Shoppe (TFS) to get advice and replacement parts. Turns out that TFS is a major distributor for Dornbracht parts. Adam at TFS was so helpful - he listened to the issues we were having, gave us advice about how to disassemble the faucets, and provided the correct replacement parts once we brought the disassembled faucet into the store (per their store mantra of "bring samples").
