a tourist stop...ice bar mexico is the included lunch stop with our isla mujeres tours for boat ride, snorkeling and lunch...entrance is lined with gift shops and a fish foot spa (pay to place bare feet in a fish tank for the fish to eat the dead skin)...passing the entrance to the ice bar (large freezer room) which requires separate payment for entrance and drinks...a tourist trap and didn't go in...meal at the ice bar restaurant is buffet style...mix of tacos, hotdogs, stewed pork and chicken legs, vegetables, rice, etc...food wasn't good, but edible...the back has a beach area with hammocks and a large swing over the waters....a dock that extends out...the water here is bit cold...great for pictures... read more

This Icebar is a lot of fun! Geovanny is an incredible host and server, and I don't think this experience would be the same without him. We stopped by while exploring the island. We opted for the ice bar only. There were other packages which included lunch and other experiences if you wanted to stay longer. The ice bar was small but had some really neat ice art inside. Really fun and interactive if you want to take some photos. You get 2 drinks and a shot for about $21 dollars. The drinks were beer or well alcohol. Realistically since it's hot here you are in shorts and a t-shirt and it's very cold inside so you are probably not staying in there very long. So it was a little pricey for a 15-20 min visit but it's a tourist attraction so you know what you are in for. It's worth noting that there is a poster of people in some very compromising positions at the entrance and some very sexually explicit sculptures inside. Pretty funny but just throwing it out there for people with little kids. Since it's small you kind of can't miss it. There were also other attractions on site like hair braiding, a dock with swimming and fish that eat the dead skin off your feet if you wanted to stay longer. read more

Tourist trap - and we fell for it! We saw signs for this place all over the island and figured why not. We opted for the one drink package ($16/person) and weren't impressed. We were given fuzzy ponchos to wear before entering the ice room. We then entered and had time to walk around it and take pictures. The 'cocktails' were premixed and not tasty and the kids were given a can of soda. Overall we got some laughs out of it and took some pictures. If you have money to blow, check it out - otherwise do something else. read more

This was an experience, but not one I would repeat. It's fairly affordable ($18 USA per person) and include 2 drinks and a shot. The shot is of tequila (no other options), and drink choices are very limited (margarita, pina colada, beer). We didn't last long (not joking - it's cold) and I'm still weirded out by the capes. Not sure they've ever been washed. You also pass through a sales gauntlet to get there. Challenging parking for golf carts. Overall - not bad for a one-off experience. read more

We stopped here because it was included in our day tour of Isla Mujeres. While here, we saw many groups of tourists. It appears that this place has deals with many tour groups to provide a free lunch and is obviously a tourist trap. In terms of the food, it was nothing special. It is buffet style Mexican food that is about quantity not quality for the large groups. The only thing that makes this place somewhat interesting is their namesake ice bar. The majority of the space is an outdoor restaurant but they have a bar on the side that is basically a big fridge box. They provide coats for the customers and you order drinks from the bartender. Drinks were not included with the free meal of course. read more

This is a tourist place. The pictures are deceiving. It's is small inside. Plus the ice sculptures and people. It can be crowded with only a few people. This place if for quick experience in an ice box with very detailed sculptures. Most people don't last more than 15 minutes. For the entrance price. You get 2 drinks and a shot. Great service, friendly bartender and drinks decent- after all not at the Ritz and 2 drinks and a tequila shot for $18 US and air hockey on ice was not a bad deal for a tourist attraction. One of the worst places I've ever been too. We got scammed and got sent here for our "luxury buffet". We walked in and you could tell the same food from breakfast was sitting out at 6pm. Flies were everywhere. If you see that your tour has this place on the itinerary, RUN!!! read more

Ok, this place is definitely a tourist trap for sure, but well worth a visit to check it out. You have to go once; only once. Basically for about $15 (USD) you get a to go inside a giant walk-in cooler that has ice sculptured walls and seats and other stuff. The entrance (why it is worth it) also includes 2 drinks (selected cocktail or beer) and a shot of tequila in a frozen shot glass. Plus it's damn hot during the summer in Isla Mujeres, so going into a freezing freezer is sometimes the best way to cool off. It's actually pretty cool, no pun intended. Also on site is an outdoor bar and restaurant and gathering area on the water. I recommend trying it once when it's hot outside. read more

My husband and I visited the Ice Bar on our honeymoon in August 2018. We placed our hands on the second story deck railing to take a photo, and the railing gave way, sending us both to the ground below. Our injuries were severe and we are still suffering to this day. One of the owners arrived at the hospital and refused to pay for any part of our care. For your safety: we recommend steering clear of this property. read more

The food was meh for prices that they charged but what really made me angry was that the waiter tried to double our cost and tried to trick us in our conversion from pesos to US dollars. Our bill was 1600 pesos and he had the nerve to tell us it was $160. Be careful when you pay your bill! read more

Gates open. No hours posted. We walk in and are welcomed by a lady saying they are closed. We were clearly disappointed seeing as we walked here expecting to be nice and cold when we got to our destination and to experience "the coolest bar in Isla mujeres". Its definitely the "coldest", experiencing how rude and obnoxious the lady was. She had no sympathy, gave no other information, like their operating hours, and just said "we are only open during the day. What do you expect? Our employees like to go out and enjoy their evenings too.." in the snottiest voice and body language I've ever seen from someone in a customer service position. As we all started leaving, they started closing the gate. Still have not figured out what their hours are or what time they officially closed... Update: Well it doesn't say anything on Yelp, but on Google, the hours are supposedly 9am to 9pm 7 days a week.. read more

This is one of the best experiences. I have ever had just like a regular bar it's just cold. We had open bar with unlimited drinks for the $10 We paid. I will definitely vist another one in the states. The staff was friendly helped us get dressed and served us drinks. They took pictures as well to capture the experience. read more

Definitely a one-timer, but enjoyable nonetheless! For $15, you get two drinks and a shot (along with admission to the Ice Bar). They had a really good selection of drinks, including Long Islands, White Russians, and Tequila Sunrises. I had an alcoholic strawberry lemonade and it was absolutely delicious. I don't remember the selections they had for shots, but there were quite a few to choose from as well. The drinks themselves (even if you don't do the included ones with the ice bar) were pretty reasonably priced (not the cheapest, but not expensive either). I think sometimes you have the option of drinking out of an ice glass, but we weren't offered that the day we went. The Ice Bar itself was a little bare. There wasn't a ton of places to sit inside and it was hard to see. I did appreciate how refreshing it was, especially since the day we went it was very hot. You can stay in as long as you want (at least that was the case when we went). They give you a parka, which I would highly recommend wearing as it is very cold inside. In addition to the Ice Bar and wide selection of drinks, they also have a buffet. We didn't try it, but I believe it was $10 per person. I liked the wide range of seats, including a really nice section next to the beach with a pretty scenic view. The downside to this place is that they only take cash (no credit). In sum, a good way to spend a very hot day in Mexico. read more

This place isn't hard to find but definitely and adventure getting here! Take a taxi over to the ferry, take a ferry to the island, walk across the street and turn left, about a block to a block and a half down, rent a golf cart and then go the opposite direction. You will see a sign that says ice bar on your right, it is white and has a polar bear on it, don't stop, keep going and you will come to a roundabout, turn right, follow the road around until you see a place on your left that has walls and a large driveway, turn in the driveway and you will see it open up to a bunch of shops and a small parking lot for the golf carts. Walk past these shops and you will find the lively bar in the back. Walk right up to the register and pay $20 or so to go into the ice bar, you will be given a robe and tickets, the tickets get you 2 mixed drinks and 2 shots, 70s and 80s music jams and a lot of fun waits inside the negative 18 degree cooler. You will find a throne matching the game of thrones, a mermaid, a bed, a truck and a few other sculptures all made of ice to climb on for some great photo ops. This place is a ton of fun, after 20 minutes you go back out and this is where the 5 star comes into play. There is a man who works there named Hector Pelayo, his family makes home made tequila - not just any tequila though, he has vanilla, banana, almond, coffee, chocolate and a bunch of others that are amazing! I don't drink tequila but I bought a bottle of the almond to take back to the states with me. If you are up for an adventurous fun... DO IT! read more
