The decor of Ice Cream House is adorable and is like walking into a movie scene. There is a couple of kiosk machines by the entrance and the staff would call your number to get your dessert at the counter after ordering. The option of their flavors is in a great variety and we had a super difficult time making our decisions. We would like to try something new, so we got Halva and Biscotti. However, the taste and texture weren't really our type and it's a little weird for us.

Great vegan ice cream and sorbets in many different flavors. I also really enjoy their popsicles

Gigantic lines and huge crowds, but I see why. This is a large, family-friendly ice cream and pizza parlor. It was packed--absolutely STUFFED with kids, so much so I could barely stand the wait. Seriously, like 10-15 minutes just to get up to the front! And from that point, it's everyone fighting for attention from staff that's just scrambling around. Not fun. In any case, there are tons and tons of flavors here. A large portion of the selection is non-dairy as well. You'll find something you like, if you're not a huge grouch. (spoiler alert: You will be after waiting in line) The ice cream was a step above usual store-bought crap, with a price that was well below some of the 'premium' chains. I had banana and pistachio. I liked them both. AND it was only like 5 bucks. Neat.

The lines can be intimidating, but well worth the wait! They have both dairy and non-dairy, and while I can't speak to the non-dairy options, the ice cream is delicious! The flavor are almost over indulgently rich and the portions are unexpectedly large for the reasonable price. Worth the wait. I've tried about six flavors by now, and they've all been excellent. The seating inside always seems clean, but it can get loud because the normal clientele tends towards families with younger children.

Upon submitting the online order, I received a text confirming the order. I was able to confirm the price. They were going to charge me an extra $12 for the outline of Crayon Shin-Chan's face that I requested. They said it wasn't a simple drawing, which I didn't realize, so I swiftly changed it to just mini cone designs. The mini cone design was a good call because they added different flavored ice creams that I didn't choose for the cake to the cones. One of the ice cream cone flavors was orange or something, which I don't think I saw as an option on the ordering form, making it even better and allowing us to try even more flavors! It was $65.33 (incl tax) for 3 flavors for the second biggest size cake (I think it was for 10-12 ppl). The three flavors I got for the cake were: Cookies and cream - 3.5/5 My least favorite flavor here even though I generally really enjoy cookies and cream. Not enough cookies and the texture of the cookies is not soft enough. Don't think it will taste like your favorite pint of cookies and cream. If I were to try to describe it, I'd say it'd taste like a healthy cookies and cream? Taro - 4.5/5 My favorite flavor because the taro came through but in a nice, subtle way. This was also the least sweet of the three flavors. Black sesame - 4/5 Undeniably black sesame. The taste was very strong and the black sesame seeds gave it some texture. A tad bit too sweet but overall ok. I've gotten ice cream cakes from here in the past, and I thought I wrote them a review already, but I guess not.

The two cones on the cake were flavors that we couldn't choose and it was strawberry and matcha. Personally for me, the matcha was a bit too bitter. Would like to try other flavors next time!

As an avid visitor to Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Prospect Park, I'm always looking to dine…read moresomewhere new and don't mind walking off the beaten path. When I do this; I usually find " buried restaurant treasure". On a recent visit to Prospect Park, I decided to try a different place and got off the B16 at Caton and Coney Island Avenue. The place: Lark Cafe. I was in a mood to cheat and have a toasted wheat bagel with scallion cream cheese and a Chai. I got almost everything, except, wheat was sold out and chose sesame bagel. As I waited, I wanted to check out the adjoining ice cream shop that sells Jane's ice cream, made in the heart of the Hudson Valley. I will return for a future cheat. Jane's is known for popular flavors as Killer Chocolate, Blue Zoo, Unicorn Cake. My order was ready and one bite of the bagel: heaven! The bagel was toasted to perfection and the scallion cc was delicious. And what a generous schmear! The Chai was light and frothy. As I devoured, patrons around me were typing on their computers enjoying Stumptown coffee and iced tea. LC offers a variety of tasty options: whitefish on a bagel, smoked salmon, cheddar chive biscuits, tea bread, croissants, doughnuts.. The ambience is relaxed and there is a book nook if you need a good read. Lark also hosts private events and for families there are sing along and story times. The service is kind and my bagel was absolutely made with TLC. I left Lark happy and walked straight to Prospect Park. Off the beaten path is always full of nice surprises! "We believe in the power of kindness and of little deeds that make a person's day. We believe in community and creativity. We believe in indulgence and enjoyment. We believe in relaxing and reviving. We believe in good business and good people."- Lark Take B16 Lefferts Garden Bound and get off on Caton Avenue and Coney Island Avenue, @5 minute walk.

I also got the kale salad & was pleasantly surprised with it- it is hard to make kale taste good but this place successfully managed to do so. The roasted chickpeas & feta was a nice touch. On top of that, the tahini dressing complemented it well. I'd definitely go to this place again.

Ice cream was $3.50/scoop (much more affordable than a Park Slope ice cream shop which cost $5.50/scoop the day before discovering Kathy's). The one scoop was more like a 2 scoop serving and was the perfect size. Undecided at first because they offered a handful of flavor combinations I hadn't seen before and wanted to try samples were provided. The teenage employee was courteous and worked swiftly. The place was busy and we did wait in line a good 15 minutes, it was clear a second employee was needed. The midnight caramel did not disappoint. Hubby got his standard cookies and cream and thought his was delicious as well. This is obviously a very popular spot with the residents of Windsor Terrace and a neighborhood gem. I can picture the line wrapping around the corner on a summer day.
