Sushie and her team were amazing and I couldn't recommend them enough! Sushie was extremely communicative and responsive throughout the entire process. We had a few scheduled meetings with her but she was always available for adhoc questions via email and had recommendations for everything. She helped us make wonderful vendor choices when figuring out a florist and a hair and makeup artist. We rented an arch through her too, and she provided many useful items like a card box and table numbers. Sushie was also so helpful in explaining how different choices would impact the overall wedding cost. She knew everything about vendor price ranges, where to effectively save money, and how spending more or less on different aspects of the wedding would change the final experience. I remember sending her many photos of floral arrangements from Pinterest and her telling us exactly how much a florist would charge for them. We cannot thank Sushie and her team enough for making our dream wedding day at Allied Arts Guild a reality. The thought of planning a wedding while juggling a demanding graduate program felt extremely overwhelming and intimidating but ultimately we knew we would regret not having one with our friends and family. During our initial phone call, I was drawn to Sushie's upbeat and friendly personality. Compared to other planners that I spoke with, she felt like a close friend who was genuinely enthusiastic and invested in helping us plan our wedding. Due to our busy schedules, communication with Sushie was sporadic during the year leading up to the wedding. Sushie would remind us periodically about certain tasks and we knew we could always reliably reach out to her with any questions or concerns. Having her insight and guidance in comparing vendor contracts and packages was invaluable. Sushie is extremely well-connected in the Bay Area which made booking many of our other vendors (cake, dessert, DJ, photobooth, florals) a seamless process. She helped secure an amazing hotel block for our guests with a beautiful suite for getting ready as well as a room reservation for our after party at a bar close to the venue. Sushie was always mindful of our budget and helped us cut costs without sacrificing our vision. She was generous in sharing her vast inventory of wedding items with us (votives, card box, frames, sparklers, blankets) and took care of printing and framing photos and menus which saved us money and time. The month before our wedding is when we truly experienced Sushie's magic! We were pleasantly surprised at how little we needed to communicate with Sushie and our other vendors even on the days leading up to our wedding because she had already taken care of countless details. Sushie also made recommendations that we hadn't considered like getting activity kits for the kids during the reception and having a trusted person empty the card box between the ceremony and cocktail hour. On the day of the wedding, Sushie and her minions took care of everything so my husband and I could fully enjoy our wedding and be present with our guests. They worked efficiently with the set-up, timeline, and clean-up and handled all vendor communication. With 2023 starting, I just have to start the year right by saying the number one thing I would recommend any bride getting married, is to hire a wedding planner. Even if you think you can handle everything yourself or cut costs by doing it yourself, hire a planner. Sushie and her team were the icing on top of my whole wedding being completely and entirely stress-free. I wasn't sure what I was looking for when I began my wedding planning journey, but finding and following Menage A Trois several months before reaching out, had really sealed the deal for me. I have to admit, I'm not the most organized, nor am I the best at keeping track of things, but why would I need to, when you have the best planner to support you in every single way. She can work with every aspect of your needs from style to budget and she's amazing at suggesting everything that you may want or need for your special day. The huge list of vendors that she works with, not to mention, the variety in inventory that she possesses, is incredible. We booked Sushie as our Wedding Planner and Vanessa on her team as our Day of Coordinator. Many reviews already echo our sentiments about how great Sushie was at everything you'd expect from a planner: organized, detail-oriented, rapidly communicative, proactive, kept us on budget, and truly cared about our best interests like a friend. So I want to highlight what stood out: 1. She never gave up finding ways to keep us within budget, like sourcing only our napkins from a different vendor and picking them up to save us hundreds. 2. Her one-stop shop operating model made everything WAY easier to manage. All the little things like polaroid cameras, picture frames, signage templates, bud vases, candle holders, table #s, etc. could be supplied by Sushie. And she has a million versions of them so we just needed to choose. Her team also types and prints all paper goods (menus, place cards, welcome sign, etc.) which takes a huge load off the final weeks. 3. She understood all the nuances of our desires by sourcing inspo photos until she got it right, and never made us feel bad for discussing any inspo we'd send over. Then she translated this to our vendors, ensuring we'd get our vision. The best example of this is our florals which she pushed to be a specific width, height, style, and fullness based on my inpso. Then on the wedding day everything was executed flawlessly! As a very detailed-oriented person myself I was impressed by how nothing was forgotten or out of place. Sushie documented plans, but Vanessa was our Day of Coordinator and didn't forget a single detail from our walkthrough -- and we had many tiny details to keep track of. I want to shoutout Vanessa and Aime as our coordinator team because they ensured we didn't have to think about anything. Everything ran on time with Vanessa cueing everyone in the background. They were always two steps ahead: I never knew where my phone was but Vanessa did! We'd turn around and Aime would be holding a water and plate of food for us. They ensured every card given was put in the card box and then safely handed off. At the end of the night they packed everything up perfectly despite the party chaos. I have been following Sushie's Instagram at Menage A Trois even before I was engaged and admired her dedication to wedding planning. During our first phone conversations, we bonded over nerdy things and I knew immediately that we would get along. She made me feel at ease with asking her a ton of questions and she is super easy to communicate with! She is probably one of the quickest people to reply back to emails or text (especially texts). One of the biggest deciding factors that won my then-fiancé over was that she and her team are very familiar with our venue, Saratoga Springs. Our venue coordinators, Olivia and Sam, spoke highly of her and that brought another sense of assurance in hiring Sushie. I also love how connected she is in this industry and if you go with her preferred vendors list, they will generally give you a discount! She also has a ton of decors that she can lend to you if it matches your theme. Those two things alone are more than worth it in hiring her. We actually switched the photographer we hired for our engagement photos to one of her recommendations and we couldn't be happier with how the photos turned out. I'm pretty comfortable with planning my own wedding as I'm a bit of a Type A person, but whenever I had any questions or just wanted to share my progress with, she was there every step of the way. The month leading to the big event, her and team took over with planning out the timeline, contacting vendors, being the contact people for the venue coordinators, and inventorying my decors. Jessica, Sushie's sister, was my day-of-coordinator, and even though we had only met the month prior our reception, I felt like we were in very good hands. I would recommend anyone planning a wedding, at the very minimum, hire a day-of-coordinator. You will enjoy your special day so much more! Our wedding day ran so much more smoothly than I ever could have imagined thanks to Sushie and her team. Sushie made us feel comfortable with the process from day one - walking through timelines, budgets, expectations, and in general just treating us like friends.
