I had the privilege to be invited to the Ice Palace Films Studios in Downtown Miami for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Event 2019. The studio is spacious and well decorated for the spectacular activity. The once ice manufacturing plant was turned into a huge event space or venue that can accomodate 8,000 guests. They can host private events, concerts, trade shows, art shows and a lot more. The Sports Illustrated on Location Swimsuit Event was attended by Supermodels like Paulina Porizkova, Tyra Banks, Barbara Palvin, Anna de Paula, Hailey Clauson, Kate Bock, Lais Ribeiro, Samantha Hoopes, and a lot more like MMA fighter Paige Vanzant It was a fun event hosted by the Ice Palace Films Studios. I hope to attend more events in the future in this beautiful venue. I don't typically update my reviews, and certainly not for venues (when I actually bother), so this perchance may be a first. Last year I went to see "Beyond Van Gogh," and this past Friday, my friends and I went to see "Beyond Monet." It happened to be opening night and they conducted themselves splendidly. We went to the 7:30 PM showing in the middle of a downpour. We were afraid we'd make it late, but we arrived just on time. We ended up doing valet this time around as it was more convenient. Valet was $20, and heads' up, the entrance is the first one, not the second. We had an oops, but even then, the man who was the valet was nothing but kind to us with our mistake. For "Beyond Monet," the show was on the opposite side as it was for "Beyond Van Gogh." It seems that aside from "Beyond Monet," they're also playing a second show called "The Art of Banksy." Pretty cool that they have two shows running at once. Anyway, they're STILL following proper protocol for COVID-19, and they've made the ticketing process even easier than before. Last time it was two individual tickets for my Apple wallet, and this time it was three individual tickets on one QR code for my Apple wallet. Given that this is downtown, well, this almost merits a five-star review from me. Keyword here being almost. If they somehow lowered the valet parking rate, well, that would just about do it. read more

So this was my first time here, and I came to see "The beyond Van Gogh". It was done very well, and I was impressed. The venue is situated in Down town Miami. They had valet parking and social distancing was adhered too. They had set the grounds up whereby whilst you waited for your allotted time you could purchase a drink, and sit at cute tables and chairs in the garden area they have there. They also had approx 10 red hammocks hanging in the shade of the trees there. This was very pleasant way to wait a few minutes until it was your designated time to go in, which is what I endeavoured to do. The exhibition was very well done. The allotted time was approx one hr. I would defninitely come to this venue again. read more

I recently visited this space for a Van Gogh exhibit. Not understanding where to go exactly, Google Maps told us to turn after we had already entered that long bridge that takes you across the IntraCoastal. Thus, I would advise building in some extra time to get lost, because without the map app, I would have never found this. Ditto for the supposed associated parking lot which we also could not find, as we were given only vague pointed directions and no address from the parking attendant. Thus, why we chose valet... due to feeling we had no other option! Since I now know that this space lacks onsite parking, I would always choose valet in the future. For a space where people have to wait outside the building before a timed exhibit begins, the hangout was interesting: some eclectic garden type area with live chickens roaming about and a 'cafe' which was really a partially shaded space with a severe lack of seating. Likewise, a severe lack of information signage meant we randomly opened doors to try to find the bathroom, and ended up in the final exhibit space with air-conditioning and the gift shop. Since the only staff person outside was the valet attendant (who was kind and helpful), it was confusing to try to find out basic info about entering the exhibit. Inside, the space was convincingly transformed into a van gogh exhibit space. I would definitely return to an experience here now that I know what it is like to visit. read more

This venue does not do business honestly. On May 13 I purchased a ticket for Beyond Van Gogh - The immersive Experience for a June 10 event. When I got my ticket I immediately realized it was not for the event I wanted. There is another exhibit titled Van Gogh - The immersive Experience (without the word Beyond). I called them immediately and was told on the phone I had to send an email. I sent an email saying I had made the purchase by mistake, would not be attending, and wanted the charge reversed. This was 15 minutes after the erroneous purchase and 29 days before the event. They responded that tickets were not refundable. I occasionally purchase adult material on line. When I begin to make a purchase they tell you right up front, before checkout, that all sales are final and non-refundable. Ice Palace Studios doesn't have the ethics of a smut peddler. 5/18/2021 I guess my review got their attention because they notified me I would be getting a refund. Now they just have to change their policy for everyone else and start giving refunds when requested in a timely manner read more

I have been rescheduled 2 times now for an upcoming event. I have spoken to multiple showclix and venue staff for a refund for the multiple reschedules and no help or guides me to another line/website or just ends the call. I am still waiting on a refund for my tickets and would never recommend spending any money with this venue because they don't intend on paying you back but will absolutely accept your money. This is a crime and I want a refund for something that you or I cannot control without stipulation in the ticket. read more

Ice Palace is an amazing venue located in the heart of downtown Miami that can accommodate any type of event, from world class dj's to private events. I have had the privilege of attending Ice Palace twice for Raise the Macallan, which was an exclusive event that catered to the single malt whiskey connoisseur. I also had the opportunity to see a number of big name dj's such as Bingo Players, Dada Life, and Tommy Trash during winter music conference. I throughly recommend that anyone who is looking to host an event to consider Ice Palace. You, as well as your guests will not be disappointed! read more

Saw Paul Van Dyke here. It's a big space with plenty of room to dance and a small bar to the side. Not much else here. Pretty simple setup. Nowhere to sit either unless you want to sit on the floor, or if you have VIP they have seats I think. There are two rooms. The main big room with the DJ's and the other room which was much smaller and empty except for a few people sitting on the floor by the walls. We wanted to chill out and get away from the music, but we went out the wrong door. Some punk ass bouncer wanted us to leave instead of going back in because he didn't see us exit the club. My friend was PISSED. I told the bouncer to just ask the bartender because we had just left the bar. He was adamant about being an ass and refused to budge saying he couldn't leave his post, and was threatening to call the manager on us. I saw another bouncer nearby and asked him if he could go in and ask the bartender for proof of witnessing us at the bar and he just quietly said, "Oh it's ok. I saw you guys exit the building. Just go right in." And just like that, he told the punkass bouncer that we were telling the truth and we went back in. We didn't dare bother going out of the club again until we felt it was time to leave. The place is split between two buildings. One building was Paul Van Dyke and the other was another DJ. (We didn't go into that building.) You had to pay separate covers for each side. We didn't buy a ticket in advance so we paid $80 to get in. Besides the crappy bouncers and lack of seating, I loved the crowd here. Everyone was so friendly and dancing their butts off happily. I ran into the guy MindGamez here. The Ice palace studio is a huge production venue that is used for film/video production, photography shoots, and event-gatherings. The location is right on NW 14th St./Miami Ave. and is a beautiful white buildings surrounded by verdant green landscaping, coco palms, and when I was there, beautiful white hammocks for the NADA Art Fair during Art Basel. I actually liked poking around this place as I thought it was a nice example of a modern/deco building that is well preserved despite it being surrounded by a less desirable neighborhood. Reality show tipoff: Bravo's "Top Chef" is filming its 3rd season in Miami and are using this facility as its main site for the kitchen cook-offs. Time will tell how much will be shown of this venue and the surrounding area. read more

We attended Beyond Van Gogh at Ice Palace Studios in Miami and were not impressed. The event was extremely over priced and did not actually contain any REAL works of art from Van Gogh. The "event" only contained 2 rooms. The first has quotes from letter written by Van Gogh and the second contained video projections of works of art from Van Gogh. I asked several event personal where was the actual art and none could tell me. We paid $80 for tickets plus $20 for parking for 2 people for something that we could have seen for Free on the internet! Don't waste your money! Not an ART experience! Only venue in Miami big enough to hold the entire Anjunabeats family. Above & Beyond. Kyau & Albert. Gabriel & Dresden. Jaytech. James Grant. Cosmic Gate. Mat Zo. Super8 & Tab. Also the only venue big enough to hold a traveling contingent of TranceFamilySF as we invaded Miami for a night of epic proportions. And was it ever epic. Above & Beyond blew our minds. The venue brilliantly splits into two well sized sections, allowing for a showcase of both Beats and Deep with plenty of space to get down. Outside there is space to relax and chill, a momentary break from the madness inside, and their are plenty of restrooms. My only complaint was the lack of drinking fountains. Water is $6/bottle, not allowing refills is greedy. Water aside, would love to come back. Next year. For Anjunabeats. To have my mind blown once again. read more

The Nada Gallery was like a cold bowl of soup. I understand that artists are individuals that follow their own drum, but where's the classic influence that is astheticly pleasing to look at? The art here has a super wide lense of medians and colors and materials and flavors, but I felt as if there needed to be more of a flow for the viewers. The layout of the pieces was really inconvinent with there were dead ends at the end of the hallways, there's nothing like seeing something you don't like twice. The outdoors is great though I saw a lot of people taking naps on the swinging red hammocks and green lawn. If you're into this new world-post modern movement this place is your candy shop. read more

This review is strictly based upon the venue itself, which I found to exceed my expectations 10x over. Upon arrival to a sold out deadmau5 show, the staff and security had the lines moving forward with grace - no bumps or halts aside from having to show my ID and tickets 3 times (which I'm not complaining about.) While inside, the cool air permeated the entire venue and there was plenty of room to move about. Staff had secured a bunch of outdoor bathrooms (read: Port-o-Potty) and kept the area pretty decent throughout the night, although I only ventured outside twice. The second time I went outside, security had corralled everyone that was trying to come back inside from the bathroom area off to one side, trying to let new guests into the venue... of course, patrons were noticeably pissed. I was stuck in the middle of a huge group of people for 20 minutes, but security kept telling us to hold on (they weren't gonna let us stand outside all night!) Finally, when back inside, the show "started" and the temperature rose significantly. I could feel a bit of a cool breeze from the A/C unit and luckily, they propped open a few of the doors to let the fresh air in. My only qualm was the price of the drinks ($11 for a can of beer??) and the cc/debit card minimum - $40?? Okay, guys, I guess you have to make your money SOMEWHERE. But YES! I want to go to more shows at Ice Palace - it was by far the best venue I've gone to for an EDM show in quite sometime. read more

How does one review the air of emptiness that is inside of a container? The air can be clean, the space can be ample, and the container can be strong; but, on the flip side, it can be a Pandora's box. I've visited Ice Palace for two completely distinct events; one a private party and the other a whiskey tasting. If it wasn't for the outside of the structure being the same, you wouldn't be able to tell it was the same venue. I imagine that if I show up to ten distinct events here, I will have twenty distinct experiences! I won't review the individual events, because it's similar to judging a book by it's cover. My only complaint between the two experiences was the parking. Both times, valet was provided which was a CRITICAL necessity. The nearest parking is quite a bit away and not the best of neighborhoods. The valet is a bit disoragnized when they get flooded with people. There has to be a solution to it, but I just don't know what right now. The only thing holding me back from actually giving a 5 star review is that I'm not really reviewing anything in this review. I can't. This is a box without substance. Bottom Line: I'll definitely be visiting for other events. read more

Was given some tickets to the Hennessy Artistry event with The Roots and Q Tip and had a blast. I love seeing fellow yelpers out and about in the city !! The food was yummy and the servers kept it flowing. Now I'm not a Henny person but the Hennessy and Apple juice was perfect. Its what one would call a " Creeper" after 2-3 drinks you start feeling well niceeee lol The DJ kept the party going and played some old school Hip-hop. I've never seen the Roots or Q Tip live and I must say that put on a great show ! read more

** review is for the pop-up arena** The pop-up arena portion of Ice Palace is Miami's equivalent to New York's Pier 94. There's less depth between you and the stage, but it's much wider. You can see the stage from basically anyplace you stand, and this is coming from a 5'2" girl. The sound is god-awful. It took me a good 15 seconds to recognize songs that I should've known right away. Lighting was cool, though. The spot had an organized warehouse party fell. Someplace to sit other than the ground outside would be nice. Drinks are priced exactly the same as Pier 94, too: $17 for a Red Bull vodka, $5 water, $8 beer. Yikes. Bring hand sanitizer 'caauuuuuse porta-potties. read more

Solid Venue. Exactly what I expected. More of a warehouse feel with a few bars scattered all over. No real club vibe, more of a stand and watch approach. The sound here was honestly the loudest ive ever heard and ive been to some shows. IT was almost too loud, ive never said that before. As for the surrounding area horrible. I wouldnt walk 200 yards at night away from here. Youll get murked. Deadmau5 absolutly murdered it, very happpy about that. His set was insane.. read more

Recently came here for the Hennessy Artistry event with The Roots and Q Tip. The drinks and food were flowing and the ladies were out in full force. NICE!!! The Hennessy girls giving out the drinks were HOT and so were the drinks. The venue was nicely set up and we got in with no problem at all. PLus...may i add the event was FREE....thanks Fooch!!! The place got pretty full and the Roots show was off da chain and the house Dj was mad killer. read more

I've been to 2 whiskey tastings at the ice palace and the place is great! Although I've never seen the entire venue, I know that it has parking and it's HUGE inside. I'm sure if you were planning an event here you would have plenty to work with! read more

Awesome club with diverse areas to dance, lounge, mingle & rock out to awesome DJs. Came with a few friends on Friday night after Ultra Music Festival to see Steve Aioki. We had a blast!!! The venue is absolutely beAutiful & feels so intimate. I loved being about to step outside to dance & lounge in the lush landscaping & cabanas. There was also a whole other club/party going on there within the venue that I didn't even get time to see. I was very happy to discover the food truck in the outside area as well ;) so convenient! read more

Nice enough venue. I'd say ok for wedding pictures, possibly a reception. They have plenty of rooms for the cars inside their facility, as I wouldn't really park on the street. Don't stray too far on the streets. read more

I am disappointed in this place. There's two rooms (the smaller which played HOUSE and I'm all about house...danced everywhere over there cause there's room). The larger room was a vat of sweat and BO. NO room to dance and a bunch of creepos trying to give you drugs. GAhhhhh! The bigger room is super narrow and I don't know if it's the audio system or the venue itself, but there was too much damn bass. I also chilled a bit in the other big room where there's sofas and stuff and I fell asleep. LOL...sorry ice palace, you just bore me that much. Outdoors you can sit on the grass and enjoy the spring breeze. I enjoyed that more than the concert (I went to see A&B on 3-24-2011 btw). One thing i definitely give stars for is the ladies restrooms portables (not the porta potties). The nice restroom is tucked a bit in the rear of the building so there wasn't a long line cuz everyone was using the blue porta potties....suckas. Well that's is about it...don't ever go to the ice palace...it's not worth it! read more

Paid $50 for Jamie Jones Paradise show last thursday during WMC. Showed up and got in a line that wasnt that crazy but they were holding things up because the fire marshal showed up saying everything was at capacity. My group and I made it to the front of the entrance line when this happened so we were set to be the next group let in when one left. Over the course of 2 hours, people began arriving and lining up in the EXIT. So then 1 large line became 2 and no one had been let in for 2 full hours. The marshal left and the venue decided that to fix the problem of the pending mob they would dismantle both lines and move everyone to a new third entrance around the building. So my group at the front of the entrance line became the group at the back of both the entrance and exit line coalition that formed at the new entrance. Once inside, THERE WAS ANOTHER LINE to get to see the mainstage. Stayed until about 5am and still could not get back there so I decided to finally call it quits and leave. Never going to buy a ticket to an event here again. The show was clearly oversold by thousands of tickets and they had no plan for what to do when a large majority of the people that purchased tickets actually showed up. Really the worst night of my entire WMC experience. read more
