Place is NOT where you want to spend much time at. Area is really nasty, run down and not very safe looking. Son has played here several times in the past 8 or 9 years (We are from Chicago area) and each time we are here it seems to get a few degrees worse. Their LIVE BARN rarely works from what I see, and right now I am in Chicago trying to watch my son play at this place via LIVE BARN, but no can do (again) as it has been for the whole season (he is a League where they play a team here a few times during the year). Try to call them to ask? Nobody ever answers and the outgoing voicemail is cryptic and does not sound like it belongs to an ice rink. OVERALL = would avoid this place at all costs. This place is very sketchy. It is located in an abandoned mall, and there is lots of homeless people nearby. You have a perfect view of the destroyed buildings nearby, and an exit door leading into an abandoned kitchen. Do not recommend. read more

I think Ice Zone is the only place that's alive in the STL Mills. I've been here a few times for my nephews ice hockey games. It's a huge facility. Is clean inside so no complaints there. I'm not sure if they do open skate but if they do that would be awesome. Being a coat or jacket because it can get cold. After all it is an ice rink. read more

Best ice rink that my son has played in the tournament. The locker rooms were nice and the staff was helpful and when the zamboni broke the staff were out there and they got it working in 30 minutes so 5 out of 5 read more

This ice arena is the best I mean to say the least the locker rooms were nice and COVID was treated accordingly with masks and temperature checks when you first enter and when I was leaving and the next game was starting the Zamboni broke and this was the semi finals but the staff got the game on in less that 15 minutes and the championship started on time and concessions had a lot including pop corn. Nice rink for newbies. It's small, but quaint. Seating for onlookers. Right inside The Mills mall.

Staff seems helpful at times. Great rink to skate at or play drop-in hockey. The St. Louis Blues practice here and it's free and open to the public. The Blues players are very kind and take time with fans and are ultra kind to the kids. read more

New to the St Louis area and VERY DISAPPOINTED in this place so far. Tried several times to reach them could not leave a message, no one answers the phone. Yes I realize that this is a ST LOUIS BLUES practice facility and they probably make more money renting out the facility for the weekend. In this case they had a hockey tournament scheduled for all weekend. However NOTHING was posted on the web site, NOTHING was on the phone recording (if there were one, there's not even a recording). In this age of "communcation" my friends your communication sucks! NOTHING is posted for your open skate times or anything on your so called calendar. If any of this had been in place we would not have wasted a trip here!!!!!! We plan on coming back for future open skate so I hope that you can do something to improve!! read more

Let's see...unmaintained rental skates with lace-hooks that you have to bend back in place yourself (each skate x 3 pair in my case), heavily pitted ice, vending machines are either broken or empty, glass windows are filthy, plexiglass in vending machines and around rink is in serious need of a date with some industrial cleaner...This feels like a business very much in decline. On the up side, their ice is slick and staff is indifferent but not outright rude. read more

I skated at this rink for a long time. I was a figure skater. I haven't been there in years so for all I know things may have changed. This rink is primarily hockey. The blues practice here along with lots of hockey teams. If you want a more figure skater esque rink try Brentwood or Webster groves. I personally don't care for the mills well it's not called the mills anymore but anyways it's not the best mall... My point being I would say go somewhere else. I mainly skated here for so long because my coach was at that rink and I liked her. read more

Good rink. The ice feels better than the rink at home in Springfield. It is also far less crowded which is nice. I own my own skates as does my family so no comment on the rentals. Overall for a place to skate I would give it 5 stars. You get a lot of skate time for your money. Which will lead us into the first reason they are losing stars. The only way to find out skate times I have found is to call. Usually 3 employees sitting around when I'm there not doing anything. Go update the website calendar or something. Next. There is no pro shop. Just a Blues souvenir store which is over priced on jerseys and clothing compared to sports stores. Lastly and to no fault of the Ice Zone it was incorporated into a mall so you could make more of your trip there. Have other places to go. Well the mall is practically dead now. So they lose a star because the place could be better if the mall was still up and running. Overall I enjoy the place and will continue to skate there when I'm in town visiting family. read more
