I booked an appointment with Enrique through booksy. Not only did I Bring in a reference photo but, I also clearly explained what I wanted. I specifically asked for a scissor cut + mid taper and wanted to preserve my curls because I had recently gotten a perm. Unfortunately, the final result looked nothing like the reference photo or anything I expected. My hair was getting a little over grown and i just wanted to shape it up, clean it a little, and add a taper to the sides. What frustrated me the most was no communication regarding length. Not once did he explain how much hair would be cut off or confirm the amount he planned to cut before he began. He ended up cutting off so much length that my entire perm (WHICH I JUST PAID FOR) is completely gone. I expected basic instructions to be followed but I this barber was not the one for the job. A mid taper is not a low taper, and preserving curls is impossible when the length needed for those curls is completely removed. I left feeling like really bummed out as I had a very special occasion just arouud the corner and had my hair completely removed. Months of hair growth and the money spent on a recent perm were gone in a single appointment. So disappointed, you had so much hair to work with, and you completely fumbled. read more

Looking for a place to get our son's hair cut. Came here based on a recommendation from my son's teammate's parent. What did we find? A friendly local barbershop. Dion (who was specifically recommended to us) has been fantastic with our 6 year old son. He's shy and quiet, but Dion keeps the experience light and fun and does a great job! The shop overall is clean and friendly, there usually some sporting event on the TV and shop chatter about this team or that going on in the background. We've. I went in for a haircut to clean up my sides for a wedding the next day. Alex was my barber. It was $25 to cut my sides and I tipped $7. I left thinking everything was fine until I walked past my mother. She told me there was missing hair in the back of my head and I didn't think it could be that bad since Alex didn't say anything. Well, I was very, very wrong. Just to clarify, I have a bump on the back of my head and I very clearly told Alex about it and to just be careful. He obviously didn't do it on purpose and I understand that accidents happen. However, the fact that he didn't even tell me there was a patch of hair missing is infuriating. I called him after I got home and he kept giving excuses as to saying, "We cut the ridge there and I didn't understand if you wanted it lower." No, that is not the issue. I didn't care if you cut lower or higher, it's the fact that there is hair missing on the back of my head. You let me walk away without telling me. Even on the phone, he didn't apologize and said it was miscommunication... what? there is missing hair, what does that have to do with miscommunication? He offered a refund which I went to get. Hence why I gave a 2 stars vs a 1 star. When I arrived for my refund, he still didn't own up to his mistake and just said it was miscommunication. I honestly wouldn't have been that upset if he simply was more apologetic or just told me when he made the mistake BEFORE I walked out. I did let him keep the $7 tip, butttttttt man, Alex sucks. I do want to say that I have been here before with another barber and had a positive experience. I also realize that the back of the hair wasn't even blended in properly since he seemed rushed and had someone else waiting. 1 stars are tough, but this experience left a sour experience. I really wanted to give this place my business and post a better review....I went here earlier in the year for a few cuts. I ended up getting 3 cuts here over a 3 month span. They were located right around the corner from my work so I would go over during my lunch breaks. I work in professional America so I always show up 5-10 min early for my appointment sLet's go in order Cut 1) called and made an appointment with Alex. He was ready to go as soon as I got there. He was pretty quick and gave a good cut, not a 5 Star but definitely worth my $20 tip and made me want to come back. Cut 2) called and setup an appointment with Beto. When I got there he was eating lunch out front and said he would get someone else to take care of me. Alex ended up coming in a few minutes later and hooked me up. Same deal, good cut...wasn't thrilled with Betos passing me off when he set the appointment with me but didn't think much of it at the time. Cut 3) called and setup an appointment with Beto again. I figured I just got him at a bad time the last time. Showed up 5 minutes early, no Beto. Waited a good 15 minutes and he showed up with lunch in his hand. He says oh sorry someone else will get you without even stopping to acknowledge me. Ezekiel asked the only barber working to take care of me after he was done cause he had an appointment on the way. I ended up waiting another 10 minutes to have the barber even sit me down. It's the gentleman with the first chair on the left, big Lakers fan. He talked about Lonzo Ball with the other workers and I sat in the chair for AN HOUR! Longest cut of all time (a fade btw) after I had already waited almost a half hour after my appointment time. These guys need to get it together...if you make an appointment, stick to it and don't brush your customers off, offer up something worth coming back for. That's how good business is suppose to work. Be professional. The cuts were all decent, but don't take your customers time for granted either. I ended up having to take an hour and a half lunch the 3rd cut and was blown off twice by Beto. If that were my business, I'd cut that guy loose. Alex the lone bright spot at that place. read more

I recently moved to Camarillo and have yet to find a local barber. I decided to give this place a shot, seeing it had the most reviews on yelp and good ones at that. I could not have been more disappointed with not just my haircut but the overall experience. I called inquiring about any availability for the next couple days for sometime in the morning 10am-1pm. The guy on the phone, Mason, said he was available for a 10 am cut the next day. Since I don't know any difference whether any of them are better/worse I took what was offered. I arrive 10am sharp to find that my barber is not there. I wait. Eventually one of the other barbers calls to see where "Mason" is. He forgot, and after waiting 30 min past my scheduled appointment time he finally arrives. I said I wanted to keep the length growing on top and wanted a low tapered fade on the sides. The fade wasn't done very well, left some long strands here/there, and took so much off the top/crown (I have been wearing my hair laying back/to the side for the past year) and now my hair won't lay flat, sticks up, and doesn't know which way to lay. I can't speak for the other barbers but this guy needs more schooling/practice. He is just not a professional by any means. Will not be returning. read more

Shops vibe is cool. Would I recommend a hair cut from here ? Not at all. What I described compared to what I got & how much I paid... laughable. I told the guy I wanted a taper fade with ONE inch off the top. By the end (which took forever), I had like no hair on the top and a one all around? On top of it it says it's 30$ for a cut but I got charged 35, & looked like a meme. Bruh. I am considering buzzing my head. I didn't ask for an Edgar hair cut. A simple Comb over with a taper fade. The fact I paid 2x as much because my personal Barber was out is hurtful. Don't come here. My son is 12, he usually doesn't care who cuts his hair but after a bad experience at another place, he didn't trust anyone else except for Larry. This was the worst barber experience I've ever had with a barber, I could have went to super cuts and got something better than what I've received. Maybe it's just the barber I received I don't know but I simply asked for a little bit off the top and the barber cut my hair with a clip size of 8 (didn't know how to use scissors) he didn't even have a pair of scissors. I told the gentlemen do not cut the top if you do not want too and he proceeded with no communication back and didn't even bother to shape it right or anything. I've been going to this barbershop for about half a year now and it is my only go to spot. Beto is my barber and he cuts my hair the way I want it every time. I always text him a day or two ahead of time to see if he will be available on a day that I want to get my haircut. For the most part he's been able to schedule the appointments on the days that I ask for. There have been times where he would be out of town, but he always tells me ahead of time in which I would actually wait until he gets back. The atmosphere of the shop is great. It almost feels like your going to a place just to hang out with the guys. I personally don't talk that much, but even then I still feel welcomed when I walk in and I always say goodbye when I walk out because all the guys in there just that friendly. I was growing my hair out my hair and had it cut previously by Beto, but I had to chop it all off because I had to do some video shooting for a roast that I am doing for some friends who are graduating from my school. I was pretty bummed to cut it at first, but oh well. Anyways, I ended up cutting my own hair for the shoot and I ended up letting it grow out a bit. I came in for a haircut with my short hair. Unfortunately Beto wasn't available. However, Zeke tried to call him up and told him I was there, but, Beto wouldn't be able to return until 4pm. On a time constraint, Zeke, who was reassuring said they would be able to fit me in on a open chair. Sure enough, they did. I ended up getting a haircut from Mike. He did a pretty good job. Nice joint offering quality cuts by some legit barbers. Whatever your style they have the talent to hook it up. Plenty of stations with various barbers who all seem friendly and professional. They know their clients as most of the people in there seemed to be familiar faces to the place. This barber shop is well kept and clean. You can tell that quality control and pride is high on the list of the man who seems to be running the show, J Hue who's got his own private station in the back with his own prices for his "master barber style". Appointments seem to be recommended as mostly everyone in there had one. I walked in and only had to wait a few minutes with no appointment but I got there early on a Saturday. I don't write many reviews but I felt the need to after my experience. Icon has a great atmosphere and a chill vibe. Most barbers shops I've been to are trying to be something from the past and play to nostalgia. Icon knows who they are and they do it well. I have a funeral to attend this weekend and my uncle used to hate my beard. I came by as a walk in and they took care of me. Excellent shave and personal friendly service. The shave was on excellent. He made sure everything was evened out and didn't miss a spot. In my haste I didn't catch his name and I feel bad about that. He has the first chair on the left.
