Walked in to an shop that had 2 kids and a very young barber, nobody else, just hanging out. I asked for a pretty basic haircut, well it took about 30 minutes Because the barber couldn't stop texting on his fucking phone. Then he just butchered my basic cut so bad I went to another barber to fix it. Went in for a beard trim and walked out with an adequate job and a trim in my wallet. They charged me $30.00 to do a crap cut. There were three guys in there. One seemed to be an adult, and the other two seemed to be in their late teens or 20s. I don't think they're licensed. Are these kids learning to cut hair on the job without a state license? The trim. I question if these kids are learning to cut hair on the job without a state license. The end result of the trim didn't show that this kid was educated in cutting hair. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed & the ambiance was great for a busy barbershop. Juan was on schedule, professional & friendly. He was great with my son & knew exactly the type of haircut my son was looking for. Nah, this place is a joke. Maaayyybe there is a good barber or two working there but I didn't see any. It was all a bunch of unlicensed teens with ridiculous haircuts (some whack ass design on the back of their necks) cutting each others hair and being loud and obnoxious. The place looks gaudy AF too. He asked if he could walk-in & they said they would have someone to help him when he arrived. My husband was met by Vinny, who was very nice & accommodated his needs. Hair cuts are only $18 and if you check in for the first time on Yelp you get a 20% discount. He paid Vinny $25 as a tip & my husband said he'd definitely come back. Personally, I LOVED the old school barbershop vibe. They had what looked to be the original barber chairs from when they opened back in 1961. Also, there is great black & white photos & memorabilia every where you turned. While waiting for my husband's cut to get done, I over heard a few conversations & gathered that most of the customers were long-time regulars who shared their life details & didn't just participate in superficial chit chat, which I'm sure also happens. I went in for a haircut because I wanted to cut off my super long hair, I got attended by a 70ish old dude and I had asked for a type of haircut that I can't describe because well I don't know how to I just showed him a picture of what I wanted and I asked him if he can cut it that way and he said yes , but Point is he cut it way too short and not how I wanted it, I told him throughout the haircut that I didn't want it too short, but he just kept smiling and then when I told him that wasn't what I asked for, he said it will grow back like what!!, I will never go back there I used to get my haircuts there all the time, but after today that place is not the place to go for haircuts read more
