Even as an adult, going to the orthodontist was not the highest priority but I wasn't to ensure I had a positive experience that I could tell my friends and family about. From the moment you walk in the door, you are immediately created by a friendly reception team with only one agenda... to ensure you feel welcome. The "New Orleans' theme environment adds a fun feeling to the experience with games and music along with local news and other items available to keep you engaged as you wait for yur appointment. The staff remembers your name for ever appointment and as you are escorted to your chair, everyone speaks and says hello because they truly appreciate you as a customer and a part of their business. I can speak from experience with braces, retainers, etc as a kid, everyone wants the orthodontist visit to be painless and fun. The staff makes sure you are comfortable and engaged so even if it is a little painful, you don't notice at all. Every kid I saw there was wearing a smile on their face from the time they arrived to the time they left and that speaks highly of the entire team. Even being escorted to the chair, the best part of my visit was Dr. Hilgers. He greets every patient with a smile and ensures that he gives his personal best service every time. He is very thorough in explaining all procedures and ensure that the the quality of care you receive gets the best results not to mention a beautiful smile. As I left for, each staff member thanked me for visiting their office and made me feel like I couldn't wait for my net visit. By the time I left, I was smiling and wanted to tell all of my co-workers and friends that Dr. Hilgers has the best orthodontic office I have ever experienced and all of their family should have the same experience. Again, after my consultation, I was waiting for the office staff to come speak with me about the cost of cleaning. Yes, I have to go back a second time to complete the cleaning, which is frustrating and inconvenient, but it could be worse. Yes, I was asked to put a deposit down for the cleaning, but I am sure this is because many people do not follow through. Again, it might be a minor inconvenience, but knowing I have the appointment is worth it, and they know I will be there. Great location easy to get in and out of the complex. I also have to say that several other patients were established that had a quick turnover compared to my initial visit, so I would say that overall, once you get past the initial visit, things will change within the office in the time you were there.

I called the next morning and they said they could fit me in 4 weeks from then for a follow up. Problem: it felt like I had a really bad infection. So I walked in the next day. I told the front desk what happened- she said there was going to be a bit of a wait. Understood. An hour in (I'm the only one in the waiting room crying from pain) and my fiancé asked her how much longer. Her response: we have other appointments. I get that. But I wouldn't have done an emergency walk in if our appt wasn't canceled (out of their control- but still) They get me back 10 minutes later- took a few hand held X-rays of my teeth, then dentist comes in. He took the blunt end of a metal tool and tapped on my teeth to confirm how badly they hurt in two parts. Told me I had an infection in the root canal , and that my back tooth had pretty bad decay- so they referred me to endo. First concern- I was already crying in the chair from pain and he tried to prescribe Motrin and amoxicillin. I had to ask for something stronger - not a huge concern, but still. Second concern- the endodontics place they referred me to was scheduling out a month. I called 3 locations to try and get something sooner. Third concern- i got a second opinion at ultra dental. Turns out i had an infection going up and into my sinus cavity and the back tooth had a cavity under the crown and on the nerve. They got me in same day for evaluation and offered same day service when I called to schedule extractions. I also learned that redoing a root canal can increase chances of failure a 2nd time. I don't know what I would've done if I didn't go to ultra. I work in customer service and am pretty patient, but this time around- risas really let me down and i didn't feel a sense of urgency or care when it came to getting treatment. Even though ive had good past experiences with risas- this experience left such a bad taste in my mouth i wont be returning.

I told the front office that we recently had a terrible experience at a chain dentist. The dental assistant talked with me about it and asked me if there was anything specific they could do for my son to make him feel more comfortable and less nervous. The dentist came in, showed me x-rays and exactly what was going on, then discussed the plan of action. There was no hustle or hurrying us out the door. This plan might just be a hidden gem and I'm grateful I found them. Even the bathrooms were clean, smelled great, and roomy for a mom with three kiddos tagging along.

I purchased TB head replacements and I tried one of them out and realized it wasn't the right one. My original TB head was an A3 which is a lot gentler than the C3 which is what they sold me. I tried to exchange the toothbrush head and I was told they do not have A3, but they had G3 I asked what's the difference and they didn't know and said no other customers had any issues with it, well guess what everyone is different and for me it was too forceful on my teeth, so I just excepted it and took it as a loss. But then I thought about it and I called back to at least get my money back for one and they told me they would have to call the supplier and find out but it's Friday and probably won't get a hold of them today. They just tell you anything to get you off the phone!
