I get that they're trying to create a fun atmosphere for kids while they wait. My daughter is 2 and does not watch screens and there were screens everywhere. I realize I'm the minority with this. The tree in the middle is nice so I was having her point out the different animals in the tree. I appreciate that we had a private room for her first appointment, as I noticed several chairs in an open space. As expected, my daughter cried and was not a fan of getting her teeth looked at. The assistant and doctor were very kind and patient with her and took the time to explain everything to us and answer our questions. My daughter was happy to get a new toy at the end.

The cleaning took place on a long flat seat, and they were given a choice of movies to watch and comfortable headphones for listening. While my other daughters waited, there was a playroom adjacent to the exam area and my girls were told to feel comfortable wandering back and forth as they needed. The dental hygienist was kind and patient and excited about her work. You could tell she loved working with kids! And my girls loved her! Then dentist himself was wonderful and personable to me... being a male, and bit loud, he made my girls a little nervous, but they warmed up quickly when they saw that I was comfortable. Despite that conversation, immediately after completing the treatment, we were informed that a second treatment would be required something that was never previously mentioned. The newly expanded office and team are just as great as before. I love entering the whimsical forest and seeing the woodland creatures. We try to go early so that the kids can get game time on the ipads. Their "dentist shirt" is the one item of clothing that they never lose because they get so excited to get a 2nd token for prizes. I explained that, given the dishonesty I had already experienced, I would only consider removing the review after I actually received the refund. The receptionist then told me they would not be refunding me and hung up on me. I will be contacting Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners and BBB. I called Palm Valley in Surprise to schedule appointments for my children. Before booking, I asked multiple times if they were in our insurance network. I even sent over our insurance cards, and the receptionist confirmed we were in-network. Based on that information, we scheduled an appointment. At booking, the receptionist explained there would be a $99 exam fee that could be applied to future services. That seemed reasonable, especially since I was assured we were in-network. We paid the fee at the appointment, only to later receive an outrageous bill--only then finding out that they are not in our network as originally claimed. I've been waiting a week for a call back from Judy in operations with no response, and the receptionist has been unhelpful throughout the process. This office misled us, and I would not recommend them due to their dishonesty and lack of accountability.
