I usually go to cabelas but we were over at the big albertsons so we popped in to see if they had anything we might need. every person we encountered the entire time was so friendly. even though they were clearly under staffed they were all very kind. the man at the knife counter was very knowledgeable and friendly. the prices were good too- and they had a coupon for $20 off every single order of $100 or more. I did not know about this- the checker just applied it for us and told us about it. she did not have to do that! it was really cool and a good surprise. I think this place is a good competitor for cabelas and if you haven't been in you should go check them out.

Ordered three low-dollar items online for in-store pickup today. Drove to the retail store 2 hours…read moreafter ordering. Nobody manning the pickup desk, so I got in the pay-line. When it was my turn, I told them my last name and indicated order-pickup. I was told the items hadn't been pulled yet. Counter person said it can sometimes take 5-6 hours, or even a few days, to get online order items pulled and ready. I asked if I could just go get the items myself from the shelves, come back, match them up against my email-received receipt, and take them with me? Nope. Can't do that. Said I would have to go home, cancel the order online, and drive back to the store. I wasn't going to do that. Asked them if they could just cancel the order here at the checkout counter? Nope, can't do that. Said they could give me the 1-800 number to call to cancel the order, which I called, from the parking-lot. Operator said she would submit the cancellation, but that it could take 2-3 business days to process. All of this was utterly obtuse and inconvenient. When getting home, I found that the website doesn't allow cancellation of an order online anyway. The final insult? When I returned home I received an email that my order was ready for pickup. So much wrong with this. Never again, Sportsman's. Long time customer who now will not spend another dime with you. The logistics were inefficient enough, but it was the we-don't-care attitude that was acute.

Your policy is misleading at best and designed to take advantage of the consumer....and then you add insult to injury by offering slightly more than half of what was just paid! In the past couple years, I hate how Dicks added their political views to everything. I just wish businesses and whatnot would stfu about their political views. I don't shop at a place because they're super conservative or if they ...super liberal. I go to businesses if they have what I want. So when places add their two cents, specifically on anything political...it ruins them for me. I know I'm not alone in this. Seriously, shut up. We wanna buy sneakers or a water bottle, we dgaf what side of the aisle you stand on. Ok that's my rant on that lol. I rarely go here. This was my 2nd time in this store since it opened. They opened 6 years ago, maybe? I went in right after and then this time. I was at Petco next door and needed to check out their weightlifting belts. Reasonable prices on that but everything else....priiiiicey! If you shop at Dicks, you know this tho. Checked out some of their sale items and if you can get something on sale (depending on what it is) their prices can be pretty good. Big 5 is next door...right next door. The huge corporate stores love to do that to the smaller stores like Big 5. Big 5 is a better store, but of course they don't carry as much. Their prices are certainly better and makes happy this location hasn't been forced out because of the giant Dicks (lol) right next to it. There's a Big 5 minutes from my house too, so I go there more. Dicks is across from the mall so if I am In that area I may think of going in, but like I said, this was the 2nd time in 6 years that I've been in that store. I just don't care to go in that much lol. Staff was friendly tho and super helpful. So they have that going for them. Aside from that, I know this review won't help anyone lol. You either love this place or just don't care about it. Everyone knows it exists so yeah, you either go or don't. Not only friendly but also super knowledgeable as well. Yes they know fishing but they are very localized as well and know the lakes and rivers around here. Their recommendations have always been on point and never disappoint. Store is well laid out with massive selection of whatever you can think of outdoors. Prices are usually very fair but the big draw for me is their Cabela's club membership. Love earning points and special deals for club customers. I would highly recommend this location for all that it brings to the Treasure Valley!

First the employees here at this location are exceptional. They are always friendly and from when you walk in and are greeted it's something most retailers lack. I also enjoy just wondering around the store to find what new treasures they have. A fee in particular that I would say I have most shopped for is anything BBQ and smoker supplies. This place has an awesome selections and probably one of the best with grills, accessories from suppliers like Traeger, Meat Church, Blackstone, Camp chef and others...plus their selection of Dewalt power tools and accessories is the best I have ever seen. I have also found the clothing selection and most likely the best Carhart selections and variety in all of retail. With other brands like Ariat and Kuhl as well as many others. What I love about this place is that you can get bbq pellets, seasonings, bbq sauce, jackets, clothing, pet/ranch food, ranching supplies, any hunting or fishing, power tools, bird seed, holiday toys, Yeti, fireplaces, plants, landscaping material, farm equipment, yard power equipment, beef jerky and one of the best local and homemade candy selections I have seen. I had rudimentary knowledge, if you can call it that, that needed a lot of work. Not only did I walk away with a whole new skill set for casting, but also learned multiple casting techniques. Michael is patient, very knowledgable, and works with you until you get it right. I highly recommend this course if your casting needs work. You won't be disappointed.
