Ever since then, save for when I was in school far out of state or had grown my hair to such a length that going to a men's hair stylist was just not reasonable, I have gone to Robert's to get my ears lowered. It's exactly what you expect from a classical barbershop: good conversation, friendly customers, and honestly excellent haircut at the end of it. Sometimes you have to wait a while, as Robert is the only guy actually working his shop, but it's worth it if you have the time, and he's willing to stay a little after closing hours if you rush in before he shuts the door.

You get to book your appointment through the app with the specific person which I think is pretty cool and easy. It was my first time so I just picked the first available which was Carli at the Mahwah location. Carli was super friendly and outgoing. She made it feel like she was my barber for years with good and easy conversation. I got the basic haircut deal but that comes with the warm cream shave around the edges which is what I was looking for. It came out better than anything I've gotten at those other places. All for a modest $25. What's an extra $5-10 when you get that level of service? Totally worth it. Carli is legit so I'll look to book her for the next one.
