Quick show of internet hands, who likes going to the dentist? Exactly, yet when we have something wrong with our mouth, we act as if they're modern day miracle workers who can improve the health of our mouth for no money, right now and everything will be perfect. Do we not realize, these people are key to making kissing our lovers more palatable (bonus if you caught the play on words)? Considering I what I just wrote, I've pondered this dilemma many times. So in essence I'm more apt to cut some slack in these regards. Naturally I had an issue where my crown that I just got a year ago popped off. I called Ideal Dental as they're in network for me and they scheduled me within two days, which made me happy. Next all paperwork was done from my house which made the visit even quicker. Walking in the facility is clean and as welcoming as a dentist office can be. The staff is nice and everyone seems knowledgeable of their jobs. I was naive enough to believe they could just pop my crown back on however Ideal was very diplomatic and caring in letting me know the issues that they found with my tooth. The only qualms I had is I had to watch Golden Girls while they played in my mouth. Luckily they let me change the channel so I asked if they had the playboy channel, joking of course. They were extremely thorough with saving my tooth however the whole ordeal took 3 hours. While I'm not an expert in teeth I thought the appointment ran long and I left feeling like I got punched in the face by a midget in a "tapout" shirt. Overall, the process was detailed and their work which included numerous xrays remedied my situation. The price was disappointing however that was more due to my crown coming off and having to get another one as I was in Kansas City when I got the last one so the warranty didn't roll over. I believe you can have faith in this practice that they have your health in mind when taking care of you. While I hate going back, I trust them. read more

What ever you do; I do not recommend going here. All they care about is taking your money. I went in and 1st visit was $900 dollars so I got on my payment plan. I got bone grafting after 2 back teeth were taken out and my jaw done looks crazy because I don't even think she did the bone grafting right. No one called after this big procedure. Months later I went in cause I big fill came out on one of my front teeth and when I went in I was told it needed to be pulled and I was distraught after just needing a fill so I asked for a quote which included a bridge and was quoted over 3,000 dollars. I took my sad self and said no more and got a 2nd opinion and guess what y'all, that tooth didn't need to be pulled and I'm happy at another dentist oh they also took money from my mom, my mom wanted Invisalign's and instead of telling her no cause after Invisalign it wouldn't fix her issue in stead they took her money instead of telling her the issue she had Invisalign would not fix it so now $3000 just because they saw easy money to take. Stay away from here, take your money else where. The new place I go to calls me after every procedure and ask how I'm doing and don't make me feel ugly cause I'm trying to get my teeth on the right track. When I started going to Ideal Dental Kyle, I had two full coverage dental plans. They billed them and explained anything that was not covered. After both plans changed, they only billed the one and never billed the other because they did not take that form of Aetna dental coverage-only other types of Aetna. No one bothered to tell me until after they sent the bill. When I called, the biller had a very bad attitude with zero accountability for not bothering to tell people when insurance is verified, services may not be covered before an appointment. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. Do not, under any circumstance, go to Ideal Dental in Kyle. My experience at Ideal Dental Kyle was one that gives you nightmares about the dentist. I've been thinking about writing this review since August. I went to a new dentist this morning and essentially confirmed the terrible work and service I had been given, so let me break it down. During my time at Ideal Dental, I received 3 crowns, two root canals, multiple fillings, and numerous "necessary" cleanings at shorter intervals than typically recommended. After visiting my new dentist, he confirmed my fears- that I spent nearly $4000 on shoddy, rushed dental work that 90% of needs to be fixed. I have 4 fillings that need to be redone AND got a referral to an endodontist to REDO a root canal. During multiple visits, I explained my dental anxiety (which I realize now comes from the poor bedside manner and lack of care I got), and was ignored. During the second root canal, at one point I was in SEVERE PAIN, and was told by the doctor to "just tough it out". The first one, which I now need to be COMPLETELY REDONE, took 5 (yes 5) visits to complete due to lack of follow through and experience on the staffs part. I urge anyone considering Ideal Dental Kyle to reconsider and take my experience into account. Leaving each visit crying and in pain should not be routine at the dentist, no matter what state your mouth is in. read more

Scheduled an emergency visit two days ago. Was called an hour before the appointment and told their X-ray machine is down and they could reschedule my emergency visit for the following Saturday. That's a week later. I dont feel like being in pain for a week so I'll find someone who can see me sooner. Just wish it wasn't last minute on a Saturday that they canceled. I won't find anyone till Monday now. I will never try to go back to this place. That's horrible business. If I could give it 0 stars I would. read more

This place is awful. My daughter got braces here I'm paying about 10,000 dollars for those. They are about half that other places ( my 14 year old is paying 5k) Scheduling has been the worst! Over and over they cancel my appointments. Or say I don't have an appointment booked! It's been horrible. Recently they gave me a hard time for not having my daughter's teeth cleaned. I was thinking I come here every month no one mentioned it to me! That appointment was rescheduled 3 times! And the last time they said the dr wasn't there then did not try to accommodate me at all. When they are the ones who cancelled the appointment. They charged me 279 as a "discount" for the cleaning. The lady told me without their plan it's 500$ for a cleaning. lol this place is the worst! Whatever you do, avoid this place. My 23 year old son had perfect teeth, no cavities and good checkups for the first 20 years of his life. He lapsed a couple of years during college and didn't get a cleaning or checkups. He went to Ideal Dental in Kyle and was told he had periodontal disease and 10, yes 10 cavities that needed to be filled. Freaked him out. They were going to charge him $2100. I told him that I couldn't believe he got 10 cavities in 3 years - he doesn't drink soda or eat sweets and brushes regularly. He went to another dentist today - not a chain, and he has no cavities. Not even one. AND, his gums are fine. He doesn't even need a deep cleaning. This place is running a scam business and needs to be shut down. read more

Ehhh, no one really likes to go to the dentist, but when I was here for a root canal all I could look at was the RUSTY, DUSTY cart all of the dental tools were on. First, I think they did a very good job on my teeth.   My problem is specific to their billing, which I consider dishonest. They quoted - and I paid - $2,730.  The guy giving the quote "guaranteed" that would be all I needed to pay But apparently they miscalculated insurance compensation, blaming the insurance - and insisted that I pay them another $500 or so they weren't compensated.  I wondered, what on earth does their price "guarantee" mean, if they then demand additional fees?  My husband's dentist at another dental office, and his previous one, make it clear they would never charge him if insurance refuses some charges. That is an actual guarantee, which I expected this office meant. Couple of other things, but one especially gets me.  I asked him not to charge insurance the $75 for adjusting a separate crown - I wanted to pay it directly because my insurance pays a portion of the first crown and I didn't want insurance to pay for that, rather than my crown.  He agreed, but then ignored me and billed them anyway.  So the insurance paid for a portion of that small charge instead of the much greater charge for the actual crown.  Afterwards, I asked him why he charged them anyway.  He flippantly told me they bill for everything, of course.  Never mind that he had agreed beforehand to leave that out. Again, they did a good job on my teeth.  They were nice.  And I'd say if the quoted amount had been accurate, their prices would have been fair.  But I felt I was *.* over their charges and would never go back. OK, as a followup to the manager's comment below. Obviously he doesn't know my name since this is supposed to be a private group. I had a crown put in, I still have a lot of pain. My dentist said you have to get used to it. I had a partial dec. 2023 my dentist said you have eat different. I was unable to wear my partial due to it being extremely painful. When I had my teeth cleaned on Jan. 2024 no hygienist, I don't know who cleaned my teeth because the pain was unbearable, and she rushed through it(took less than 5 min.), this the worst experience I've ever had in a dental office (ideal dental Kyle). read more

Pro's: The staff was pleasant and service performed without problems. Con's: Billing and estimate of service cost. I was given an estimate of cost for a procedure. I explained the out of pocket cost was very hard for us financially. I need to plan out our payment and I paid my agreed portion before services rendered. Later I was sent an additional bill for over $300.00. They said my insurance wouldn't pay as much as they thought. As someone that does medical billing myself I know there are ways to ensure your claims get paid correctly. I should have been notified of this prior to getting this bill and should have received EOB's from my insurance carrier showing their attempts. Very disappointed. read more

Worst. Customer. Service! My first experience there for my cleaning, the dentist and the assistant were talking about the most inappropriate things you wouldn't talk about in front of patients. I let it go figuring they're young. I go again to pick up more of my invisilign trays, they can't find them! They came to me and asked me multiple times "are you sure you didn't take the box with you?" Like blaming me. I said no this was the whole point of this appointment was for me to pick up my trays. They eventually found my box but it took them about 30 minutes. Then I call them a few weeks later to confirm what my upcoming appt was for. I was put on hold for over 20 minutes so I called back and the lady said "yeah there's only 2 of us what do you need." I understand being busy, I've worked in customer service 16 years but I've never talked to people that way. Especially PAYING customers. And it didn't help she answered my question within 30 seconds so makes me wonder why I was on hold for so long to begin with. Finishing my invisilign and leaving that place immediately. read more

I was in pain due to a extraction and I went in for a follow up thinking this would be my dentist only to leave there in worst pain. The male dental assistant was very rude and had no compassion for my situation. He was not gentle. The denlist herself showed no interest in my situation and she was cold like I meant nothin. I previously wrote a great review about how helpful and supportive the office team is- they were very professional at all 10 of my appointments. But- I made a mistake in believing I needed all the items they recommended- with constant referrals out, needing my wisdom teeth out, then having to replace a crown and redo a root canal- all so I could get a new crown and get my teeth straightened. Y'all- it took 5 tries to get the crown put in. A crown that they removed- and then said they wouldn't put back on until I saw another specialist (forcing me to do it.... now I see, in retrospect.) I'm patient- and we all make mistakes- but part of the reason it might have taken 5 molds- is that every time I went, it was a different person working on it. The person making the mold and sending it off- is never the dentist there the next time, to put it on. Each time, they said it didn't fit correctly and we needed a new one. The ortho doc is rude, condescending, and sarcastic- and tried to bully me into another set of appointments when I said it didn't sound right to me... I'm so sad that my regular dental office Brush 32 is affiliated with Ideal Dental- I'll never go to either of them, again. It's unfortunate that places take advantage of people who will do everything they recommend- only to find out they got hustled in the deal. This place sure cares about making money... Patients, not so much. I had an infection caused by a cavity and was in great pain. Rather than relieve my pain first and have me come back a few days after swelling went down, we drill. My pain was off the charts and was brutal for the next 4 days. The swelling was to bad to complete so I had to come back to get the tooth removed(which I shouldn't have done). Then 2 weeks later I come back for a temporary mouthpiece to hide my extracted tooth. And the mouthpiece doesn't fit and they use basically elmer's glue to make it look like it fit. I honestly feel like a mugger would've given me a better deal. I am truly disappointed that I wasted so much time and money with this place. read more

My insurance covered routine maintenance, and a yearly teeth cleaning. I found this place, as they accepted my insurance. I told them can you ensure that I only get what is covered by my insurance. They assured me that their services are covered by my insurance. I even asked as me and my family left, is there any additional costs that I will be charged. The staff proceeded to tell me that I would not be charged additional. Well 2 weeks goes by and me and my family get charged for an extra service they did not tell me about. Rude Dr. and assistant talking over him while cleaning his teeth about what they were doing this weekend. Treating him as if he wasn't there. Zippy little financial guy who is cold and indifferent. Frustrated and exhausted with Ideal Dental. Today might have been the back-breaking straw though. My son had an appt at 10:30 am, and as usual, he was not called back until 20 minutes after his scheduled appt time. Once back there, his cleaning went relatively fast, and I was informed he had 1 cavity that needed filled. They pffered to fill it while we were there, but we would have to wait just a bit for it to be done. A bit turned into 3 hours. 3 hours of a 16 year old waiting for 1 small cavity to be filled is unacceptable. Had we been told that the wait would be 3 hours, we could have either 1-left and come back, 2-scheduled for another day. Everytime I asked the progress, I was told that the dentist was getting to him next. WRONG! Being placated and lied to is not a way to treat a parent of a child who is going on 3 hour sitting in a nerve-wrecking dental chair. Once he was finally seen, the filling took about 20 minutes to complete. Seriously? This is unacceptable and we will be looking for a new dentist as soon as possible. Other issues we have encountered- *Appointments are never on time. My other son was called back 40 minutes after his appt time today. Today is just a minor example of the appt delays we have experienced over the last few years with Ideal. *Speed of service. I have never been to a dentist office that takes 2-4 hours for a simple dental procedure. We have had a few root canal and crown appts at Ideal that have taken nearly 4 hours per each visit. We have to schedule atleast half a day off for each dental appt becuse of their overscheduling. The dentist ends up moving back and forth between 4 or 5 patients over the course of our appts instead of concentrating their time on one patient at a time to get them out of there. This also causes re-numbing shots repeatedly, which is not enjoyable or neccesary if they would work on fewer patients at a time. *BILLING. We have been overbilled repeatedly and have had no choice but to pay the bill and fight it out with the dentist office and insurance later. We have never been wrong on the billing, and have had to deal with arranging refund after refund or credit on our account from Ideal. I have ignored their numerous signs about reviewing their office in Yelp in the past, because I have usually left the office frustrated with them, but putting my son thru the unneeded anxiety today was the last straw. I will be talking to the office manager and regional manager next week. Hopefully some changes will be made so that it won't feel like a revolving door-conveyer belt dentist office. read more

Leaving this review to hopefully help other people from spending thousands of dollars that they don't need to. I booked an appointment at Ideal Dental Kyle for my annual, regular cleaning. When I got there, they checked me in but I ended up waiting ~30 mins and when I finally went to the front desk to ask how much longer the wait was, they said they had just tried calling me cause they were wondering where I was for my appt. (???) I was sitting right in front of them (they checked me in!?) and got NO PHONE call, idk why they would lie about that, probably to cover up their mistake. Anyways I went in, expecting a cleaning, only to be told that their hygienist would first have to assess my teeth and what type of cleaning I needed. Btw I've been going to the dentist regularly my whole life, I was never told this before. When the hygienist finally checks my teeth, she says I have 6 cavities I needed filled and alot of gum loss with a buildup of black/green plaque and bacteria underneath my gums. The kicker-it was so bad around my wisdom teeth that I needed to have all 4 pulled. I was shocked. I'll admit I wasn't flossing everyday, but I still brush my teeth, and had just seen another dentist at the beginning of the year and even get my teeth cleaned annually-NO OTHER DENTIST had told me anything about this. I was scared! Then the hygienist has the balls to say "trust me, I'm a nerd, and I'm good at my job". They proceed to tell me I would need to schedule another appt to do gum therapy/deep cleaning which meant I had to get numbing shots in my mouth for them to dig out the plaque buildup underneath my gums and also to fill the 6 cavities. The dentist even tried to persuade me into getting my 4 wisdom teeth pulled there at their office, but that also scared me (I have my own reasons for not getting them pulled, and they've never given me problems), so I said I'd rather try and brush them/take care of them at home and if in a year the plaque buildup is still bad or worse, I'll have them pulled. After that the dentist stopped trying to get me to have them pulled but focused on the other issues I had. So I scheduled my next 2 appts (they recommended I numb one side first then return another day to numb the other side of my mouth) and left totally in shock that my teeth had suddenly become so bad. But I thought cause I wasn't flossing everyday and sometimes skipped brushing, that maybe my teeth had indeed gotten worse over the year. They gave me a quote of about $2000+ for everything and after the "estimate" of what my insurance would pay, my out of pocket cost would be about $1000. Oh and I didn't even get my teeth cleaned that day. I thought if my teeth are really this bad, I want to do what I can to fix them and if that meant paying that much, in the end it would be worth it. But the idea of getting numbing shots in my mouth gave me so much anxiety and I decided to see another dentist for a second opinion. THANK GOODNESS. I told them my experience I had at Ideal Dental Kyle and the new dentist said good thing I didn't go through with it: I had NO cavities, my wisdom teeth were FINE, and I did have some gum loss/pockets/whatever but nothing too concerning. They cleaned my teeth and I only paid $9. I don't doubt that the dentist and the "hygienist" at Ideal Dental Kyle could be good at their jobs, but trying to hustle their patients into paying for things they don't need, so that THEY can make more $$, is pathetic, and such a scam. I remember noticing that the hygienist, dentist, and office staff (their "insurance" expert, Anita), seemed to have the perfect answer to all of my questions and now I see it's probably because they tried to pull this scam on other patients. I enrolled in the metro plan care in July. It clearly states that for $129 I receive two free cleanings. When I came in July they insisted on a "deep cleaning" which I did not want. However, your dentist said he would not do my regular cleaning without this deep cleaning. The dentist ASSURED me that my next visit would ONLY be my general cleaning. This deep cleaning cost me an extra $100. Today, I was called into the office to take an early 11:00 appointment instead of my 2:00. I stopped what I was doing to get to the Dentist office. I waited over an hour in the chair before a dentist actually saw me. So I was brought in early only to wait. Once a dentist bothered to come see me the receptionist told me I had to have yet another procedure that would cost me extra. I once again politely asked for JUST the cleaning I had previously paid for with the plan. Again my cleaning was refused unless I paid an extra $95 for a process that I didn't want. All I wanted was to get my teeth cleaned. All your dentists want to do is rack on extra payments. I would ask for half my payment for my plan back but "that's not how that works". I will never come back to an ideal dental again. I hope you get with me and make this right. For the record, my X-rays showed I had nothing wrong. I also had no cavities. My first appointment didn't happen. I waited in the waiting room for approx. 50 minutes. At that point, a staff member came out and told me that they were still very behind and wanted to see if I could reschedule. I did reschedule and on that second appointment, I didn't wait long in the waiting room but I sat in the chair after completing xrays for 45 minutes before the doctor came to visit. They did not perform a cleaning at this appointment. They recommended a treatment plan that suggested work on 19 teeth! I have since gone to see another doctor who said I have a total of 2 cavities - thankfully - not 19. I, also, requested my X-rays be sent to the other doctor 3 times before they were actually sent. read more

Dr. Pan and the orthodontic team that cared for me while I had my braces were the most knowledgeable and friendly staff I've ever met in my dental history! They explained the process fully and made sure to answer any questions I had. I got to personalize my experience with all the members including Rocky, Dr. Pan, Chelsea, Alma, Oscar, Liz and many others at this location and it made my process a journey to a better smile so much smoother than I could've hoped for! They really cared about me personally and greet me every time I walk in the door by first name, as if I'm their special guest. The wait time is minimal and my teeth are exactly what I'd hoped for with little to no complications. Let me tell you something, I hate going to the dentist. They usually make me feel bad about myself and my teeth and always get my appointment screwed up. However this was not the case. This is the best dentist office I have ever been to in my entire life. I got x-rays, cleaning, a cavity filled, and my teeth molded for free whitening at home all within an hour and a half. The hygienist knew exactly what she was talking about and walked me through everything she was doing or seeing. The dentist, Dr Huyen, was so personable and that she even filled a cavity without Novocain and I did not feel a thing. They were very informative with me about my teeth and it didn't guilt me when I told them I don't ever floss. They also offer a free whitening! I am so happy to be a customer here, and it has completely changed my outlook on dentistry. This is how a dental office should be run! read more

This practice is a joke! All they want is to sell you Invisalign. My first appointment took 3 hours. They called me in 40 minutes late even though I was 20 minutes early. They performed all this fancy X-rays but I did not get my teeth clean because after 3 hours I had to go back to work. I decided since my insurance is going to pay for all of these exams I am going to go again to finally get my teeth clean. Made an appointment for cleaning ONLY. I got there on a Saturday morning and they were to perform X-rays again. Once I told the person who was helping me I had all done already 2 months prior she left for several minutes comes back to tell me that I was right but now I needed to wait to get the cleaning. If they have taken the time to review my chart and the appointment I made I did not needed to be sold braces again because my teeth are straight. Needless to say that I got up and left because I was not going to waste more of my time in such an informal practice. read more
