We originally booked our second cleaning appointments for February 2025 at 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. Closer to the date, we were informed the office had changed its hours and could no longer honor our evening times -- their latest appointment is now 5:00 p.m. This was already frustrating, as most working professionals need providers who offer after-hours care. I considered switching providers then but decided to give them another chance. We rescheduled and took time off work for appointments on 4/23/25 at 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. Taking time off of work means that we both had to request time from our bosses, and then take back those times and ask for different days -- something no boss appreciates, especially on short notice. Days before, my partner received a cancellation text saying the office would be closed entirely that day. I never received a cancellation notice for my 4:00 p.m. slot. I called on 4/14/25 and spoke with Geneva, who explained the dentist had a personal matter and the backup dentist was unavailable. I requested a call back, and Christina (the manager) returned my call -- she's always been kind and professional, and I know this situation wasn't her fault. Christina promptly emailed over our records at my request (she originally sent us our records back in February when I considered taking our business elsewhere but then wanted to give them another chance). Still, as new clients, this is our second cancellation -- and it's unacceptable. At this point, I have no confidence they'll keep any future appointments. We'll be going to another dentist in Kyle that offers more reliable and flexible hours. The Dentist at Plum Creek is a service business, and as such, client service matters. Communication, reliability, and accommodation are essential. Repeated cancellations and a lack of backup plans hurt patient trust and reflect poorly on business operations. My feedback to management: Consider reinstating evening hours to accommodate working professionals. Other providers in Kyle offer appointments as late as 7:00 p.m. If your main and backup dentists are both unavailable, a third option should be in place so patients don't get dropped last minute. For anyone experiencing similar issues, Christina manages the Kyle location and Ankita is a supervisor (email: manager@dentistatplumcreek.com). Dr. French removed a tooth of mine that could have easily been saved had she been more diligent in her treatment. I had some concerns with her plans for an implant on the tooth pulled. I reached out to a few specialists who advised me against the plan Dr. French had. I called her to try and address the difference in the plan for treatment. She told me that I am not a good fit for her practice and that I should find a new dentist. Having a tooth pulled is not the most pleasant experience and it left me feeling defeated and just kind of sad, honestly. I hope Dr. French shows more compassion in the future for those who are feeling unsure and maybe even insecure about what they are going through. Teeth are a big deal. I have been a dental patient of first Dr. Carol Evans and then Dr. Justin Koen for over fifteen…read moreyears. While Dr. Evans was fantastic, I have had a much different experience with Dr. Koen and the direction the practice has taken in the last few years. I have a feeling the practice has been taken over by a corporate entity because their focus is no longer on the patients. I went in three times a year for cleanings and only saw Dr. Koen for literally 20 seconds for the past fifteen plus years when he came in to view my mouth after a cleaning once a year. So I did not know the extent he would GHOST me when I needed his advice the most. I had some unexpected issues regarding a failed crown and had many questions. When in the office for the scan to measure my temporary tooth (called a flipper), I needed to talk to him during my scheduled appointment time. He refused to even pop in to see what my concern was! Then, the periodontist who was handling the crown issue and bone grafting specifically asked him to do a tooth vitality on a specific tooth next to the failed crown and Dr. Koen did not even do the tooth vitality! I even asked the person doing the scan to have Dr. Koen do the tooth vitality and then he (or his office manager) sent her back to say Dr. Koen would contact the periodontist directly without even taking the time to see what my question (s) where, but the periodontist told me Dr. Koen never verified the vitality of that tooth! Then, I was suppose to get my temporary tooth within a 2 week timeline, as it was only coming from the lab in Hutto. It never came! I had the office follow up daily and for days never came up with an explanation of what happened except that "the temporary tooth was lost"! Unacceptable! I even said I would drive to Hutto to get it (it had been paid in FULL 3 weeks prior), and they said that was not possible. Only the office manager would deal with me via phone; I even went to the office in person to speak to Dr. Koen and he refused to see me! I left him messages twice on his voicemail and he never returned my calls. I needed the temporary tooth in time for me to return to work, as I was extremely embarrassed by the gap and needed the temporary tooth as a minimum to work with my clientele, as well as my co-workers with confidence. He GHOSTED me yet again. Now, you may say I must have been a demanding patient or there must be some other reason for this response from the practice. The only reason is he did not care ENOUGH to reach out and make things right and do the bare minimum that a dental professional should do. If you are thinking of going to Main Street Dental-take your business elsewhere!! The office manager was rude and condescending. If all you need are cleanings and that is it, then this is the place for you. However, if you want to be reassured that Main Street Dental places their patients first, then please.............find another practice! All you will find is incompetence, arrogance and a disregard for professionalism in this field. I would give them a zero star rating if it was available. They are one of the very few, if not the only, providers in the area who coordinate with the VA, allowing veterans to receive care without having to drive to Austin. We both saw Dr. Matthew O'Neil, and I almost hesitate to mention his name only because he was so phenomenal and don't want to share. He was kind, professional, and had an excellent bedside manner. He asked thoughtful questions and provided clear, thorough answers to everything I asked. A staff member, either the office manager or benefits coordinator, also met with me and walked me through a detailed cost breakdown on an iPad. She explained what my insurance would cover, what my out-of-pocket costs would be, and gave me the flexibility to prioritize or decline any services. She was incredibly kind and made the entire process feel comfortable and pressure-free. In the end, I chose to move forward with all recommended treatments because the pricing was comparable to other providers in the area, and I felt very confident in Dr. O'Neil's expertise. Today, I had two fillings, three crowns, and a deep cleaning completed under IV sedation, as I have a serious fear of dental procedures a local anesthetic is hit or miss for me. My appointment began within 5-10 minutes of arrival, and so far I've experienced little to no pain. The customer service has been outstanding. The rooms are clean, well lit, and situated with modern equipment. They let you choose what Netflix movie to watch (careful to choose a laughter filled comedy with your mouthful). It was first appointment with this office, so it was extended, but the digital, full mouth scan was useful for ordering a night guard. No gooey mouth-mold for me!
