They will overcharge you for deep cleaning, refuse to do basic cleaning, and fail to submit the proper paperwork to the dental insurance, so they charge you high fees out of pocket. After over 5 years sending family members to Ideal, we have all left. We found the office unorganized, the staff looking for problems and offering procedures/services cost double found at other dentists. We purchased dental insurance from one of their subsidiary companies while at the office, hoping to save some money--it was what Ideal recommended and the brochures are all over the waiting room. This insurance ONLY works at Ideal and offers a discount for services for 1 year--with auto renewal. Not only are the office staff incompetent of looking up the insurance with their own subsidiary--despite the fact we have been using their recommended insurance company for +2 years, they wanted almost $1k for what they described as a small cavity repair. $1K!!!! That is "with" their insurance partner discount. Bad enough a simple cleaning took over 1 hour as they didn't know how to look up records their own patients. This location we are finding that they can't use their electronic records after 5 years to identify the insurance you have been using lately. They have also, "lost your appointment" on more than one occasion; therefore, we had to make a new appointment that changed plans as their insurance was expiring. They Never follow-up with you about an upcoming appointment. Plus, the outright greed of this place is amazing. (I have another horror story that is too long about some crown work they 'tried' to do that that just ended up with me having a mouth full of novocain and no work done) We chose them originally as they were close to our house and thought they were a quality chain. One by one, we left the practice as each visit was too upsetting to return. Today, our last family member gave up on them. read more

Incompetent dentists. Completely ignored my description of tooth discomfort and very visible decay on the tooth saying it's just deep crevices and a sensitive tooth. They do not care about their patients health. They didn't even look at the tooth itself and only looked at a blurry X-rays. read more

It wasn't until my second visit where the front receptionist named Rose came in and said it was "dumb" of me to only get one side of my cavities filled and there would be a $50 charge if I don't get all my fillings done in one appointment. My appointment was at 8:00 a.m. and I was there at 7:55 a.m. I had to wait in my car until they called me. They didn't open until 8:00 so I assumed I would be one of the first appointments. At 8:15, a female staffer came outside and threw up on the sidewalk. Then she went back inside. At 8:25, I went inside to tell them to move my appointment because it had taken too long to get in and because the staffer was sick. The woman inside said she didn't see anybody go out and if a staffer did that she didn't know who it could be. The staff has to walk out right in front of the desk. Essentially, she was passive aggressively calling me a liar. Ask to speak to whomever was in charge, but she said there was nobody there I could talk with. I won't ever go back to them. read more

Ok guys...remember I previously submitted a review regarding the work received under the company....well here's another update...the customer service is amazing.....but sad to say I have been pending a refund on a crown that was damaged from a root canal that wasn't done appropriately....I submitted the refund request in October and now in December and they continue to tell me that the refund is still pending....I went to the board and did some research and found that they have a lot of complaints regarding root canals.....I will continue to wait for my refund but at the same time proceed with Dental Association and board to proceed with further action.... read more

At least three times in the last couple of months I have called the Westchase location only to get the answering service (I guess) and be told they were closed. And once closed for 2 days, Thursday and Friday. I've never run across that before -- a dentist office just closed willy-nilly in the middle of the week? read more

I had a wonderful experience at this dentist!! I absolutely love Dr. Hakeem, she is super informative and incredibly sensitive to my feelings and comfort as a patient. I have a good tolerance to pain, but I had issues with my teeth being sensitive to the cold water they used - Dr. Hakeem made sure to warm up the water after recognizing the issue so I'd have less discomfort. I gave the staff quite a challenge at my first appt as I had to have my cleaning done in time to make it to my son's last soccer game, and they didn't disappoint! They kept me updated with the time, and got me out of there quickly, but without lacking in my cleaning! I had a hard time with the financial obligations of the treatment at first, but the billing lady worked with me so we could come up with the best plan for both of us (and for the record, I blame the insurance, not the office for that displeasure!) I recommend this dentist to anyone looking for a dentist visit that you DON'T have to dread! read more

The absolute worst dental experience of my life. I came in a year ago due to some excruciating pain. I had a plan to do additional services but after reflecting on the services, I never went back. I'll try to explain this as best as I can but I'm still a bit confused myself. The staff were generally friendly and polite. I expressed that cost of services was a big concern for me and they seemed oh so happy to help...push me further into debt. Reflecting on the services and the amount that was charged, and how some of the services were charged - it feels unethical. I was charged out of pocket for services that would've been easily covered by insurance. I was told my insurance didn't cover any services so I had to pay a large sum out of pocket and get on a payment plan. Then I found out they still put in a claim with my insurance and it did cover and pay a large portion of my services but that wasn't disclosed to me and I paid more than I was supposed to. In addition, I was even charged for a service I didn't receive yet! (I planned to initially but cancelled my appointment since I had to go out of town for my grandmother's funeral. They still charged me. After all the shadiness, I decided not to return) Now, compare this to the new smaller dental office I went to. They asked my concerns, I said cost of services they walked me through all the charges, looked at my insurance and what services were covered so I wouldn't have to pay too much out of pocket. It took all of 5 minutes and that's when I realized how much of a disservice Ideal dental actually did me. I place a good deal of blame myself for not paying more attention in the moment, my biggest concern was the pain and they were so friendly and seemed to really want to "help" me. I don't know what's going on at this dental office/business but if I were you, I'd look at a different establishment altogether. One that is more concerned with your wellness as a customer and not just your pockets. Save yourself and your pockets the grief. Listen to the negative reviews. There are some shady practices going on here. Dentists are supposed to help, not try to bamboozle you and your insurance to get the most money possible. I contacted them to get an itemized account of all the services received, what I already paid out of pocket (over $1600) and what my insurance has paid. I have not received it as of it. I'm working with a manager from the office to rectify this issue, I will update soon as a resolution is made. read more

Do not go here. I went in for a cleaning and was told I couldn't received said cleaning due to my canker sore spreading to my eyes. It doesn't work like that. Cold sore, understandable but a canker sore, nope. (This should have been sign one they don't know what they are talking about.) I was obviously questioned them, the hygienist left and got the dentist. The dentist then just said that's all for the day and to rebook not fully explaining how the canker sore would infect my eyes. I left dissatisfied and didn't plan to return. Then, they made the effort to then call me, in the afternoon, to address the situation and offer me a $50 credit. They had also told me I need two fillings, a mouth guard due to extreme grinding damage and a crown. This was extremely odd to me as I had just moved here and had never been told about grinding previously. And I go to the dentist every six months as required. But they got me With my insurance and the credit offered and I rebooked an appointment. I could get my cleaning & fillings for $82.00, (important detail!). BIG MISTAKE. The cleaning started; they forgot the bib. The hygienist took the remote and changed the TV, to what she wanted to watch. Half way through the first filling they had to search for additional supplies TWICE. After they finished one, they left me for 20 minutes with a bunch of gauze in my mouth to "give me a break" before starting the second. (looking back, I should have left then but I didn't.) The second filling they hit something in my gums and had to call in additional set of hands to help with the bleeding. Once done my bite did not feel right and they didn't care. Once they cleaned me up and removed my bib and said time to go, I still had some gauze in my mouth that I fished out and handed to the hygienist. Who was clearly incompetent!!! In addition to all this, They didn't listen to my caution when I asked for a half dose of freezing since I freeze extremely well and therefore was frozen for the next six hours with an extremely sore mouth full of bloodily drool. Next check out; and the girls at the front told me my total was $300 and some dollars. I am a medical biller so I knew exactly what my total should be. So I smiled sweetly and said I think you need to run that again. She apologized and did it again, and then asked for $200 and some dollars. I smiled again and asked for her to subtract my credit and double check that total. She was quick roll her eyes and provide me the correct total. It seemed fishy and if I didn't work in the profession I do, might have just paid the bill and left. That's not right to over bill people and hope they don't read their EOB and catch it themselves. Vowing to never go back, I waited almost a year to find a new dentist in Houston as this experience really set me off. Prior, I had no qualms about the dentist. But Last week, I went to a new dentist after much research and My new dentist could find no evidence of grinding, no need for a crown on any tooth and looking at my x rays couldn't tell me if I really needed those fillings. WEIRD EH!? This place is dishonest and just wants to take your money. I am so happy I got a second opinion. I wouldn't recommend this dentist office to anyone. read more

Im giving this dental office a three star rating only for the reason that i felt extremely pressured to commit to services i wasnt financially ready for. The customer service is great and my Dentist was great but the staff that is in charge of giving you the breakdown of a treatment plan is very pushy, i mean almost putting the pen in your hand and paper in your face pushy. I get my teeth are a big priority but signing up for something of 5k+ right on the spot requires some thinking. She kept telling me "you can just give us your husbands social and we will call for an increase on your care credit card" I kept saying no and no and no and i have to speak to him and i have to think about it. After almost 10 pushy minutes I finally had to say " im sorry i only came for a cleaning today and will need to consult with my husband to see if this is something we want to commit to" GUYS im not kidding she literally gave me this " are you F**** kidding me face" and walked off. Im starting to look at other places because this was just unpleasant for me. Its a great clean place in a nice area with good customer service but i just cant return, especially after they see this review. God knows what attitude ill get if i return. read more
