Sadly she mixes her extreme political beliefs into her business, Which is a huge mistake. I found dealing with her to be very toxic. If you want to find a professional that is level headed and that can assist you in your move to the St. Louis region, I highly suggest choosing another agency. One that can provide you with relevant facts and important information regarding the best neighborhoods that suit your situation. Not someone that asserts their own political ideology into the process. I really don't need to hear that. I am just interested in looking for a property and getting a feel for the areas of St. Louis. Not the virtue signaling or shaming mindgames. The whole experience was very uncomfortable. Why would any agency hire such a problematic person?

We moved across the country on June 4, six weeks after reporting the issue, and the gas leak was still ongoing. A contractor later told us the levels were severe enough that we were fortunate a major incident had not occurred. The owner's contractor also improperly replaced the gas line with an undersized one, according to Spire, and I was the person contacting Spire throughout the process. They let me know that the pipe the contractor replaced was 1/4th inch too small and could lead to carbon monoxide or gas buildup in the lines. During the nine months we lived there, two additional gas leaks occurred in other areas of the system. After spending over $10,000 to move and paying rent for May while the house sat vacant, Stephanie Olsen told me over the phone that "this isn't working out" and that we would need to find another place if we continued being "ungrateful." We ultimately moved out early after 10 months, and paid April 2026 rent while the property was vacant and we were in a new rental. The house itself had numerous issues: filthy vents filled with years of dust and mold, insect infestations (basement had roaches, beetles and grasshoppers) requiring extermination, and a failing sump pump system with drain flies that contributed to a very strong basement odor. The home was at times uninhabitable due to the gas smell, causing headaches and dizziness for both me and my Mom, and we paid out of pocket for hotel stays. This experience was emotionally and financially exhausting. After being threatened with eviction, do you really think I felt comfortable reporting every issue with the house? Of course not. So we financially covered multiple issues due to fear of retaliation.

Stephanie literally screamed at me and threatened to evict me on the phone until I was in tears. The house was literally inhabitable due to the extremely strong smell of gas, which was causing headaches and dizziness for me and my son. We paid to stay in a hotel. The vents were filthy with dust and mold that had not been cleaned for years. We had to pay for an exterminator due to a hornet and grasshopper infestation, a plumber for a failing sump pit motor infested with drain flies / worms, which also contributed to the basement odor. The list goes on but my point is - this was a nightmare both emotionally and financially for us. Do you really think I'm going to report every issue wrong with the home after I was threatened with eviction? Obviously not.

They force rental insurance even when you have it, saying that you can cancel because it is "free"…read morewhen you sign up. But then they start charging you almost $20/mo for the insurance and the only way to cancel is to come in person and cancel. Even though you can sign up and move in COMPLETELY online. This makes no sense. I work during their business hours so I have to leave work in the middle of the day just to go in for a signature? That screams scam and it really seems like something that will eventually get in to the courts to decide if that was a shady business process. The rates go up and when you call to question it, and question cancelling the insurance, they are so extremely rude on the phone. I work in sales, I understand customer service. You can tell they get paid whether they are good or bad, because it was never a good experience when I spoke to someone on the phone. You also can never find a cart. Apparently people were keeping them in their storage units (at least that is what I was told). But perhaps if they had more than one per LARGE building, people wouldn't keep them in their units?? Plus, find a way to keep track of them instead of completely making them inaccessible to people who are in the far back of the building and on the third floor... ugh. It's a clean building, but outside of that, I have already told my friends to never rent from them. Their app that is supposed to open gates and things never seems to work, and twice I have felt locked in the gate because I couldn't get it to open. I've rented plenty of storage units in my life and this has hands down been the worst storage experience of my life.
