I would never recommend this place. They did more harm than good. Not enough help to help you.

A lot like One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. The doors were kept locked, and the nurses were mean.

She…read morehad had a hip fracture while out of town and stayed 2 weeks at a Transitional Care Unit there. When she was strong enough to travel, she transfered to Hilltop to finish rehab, sufficient to return home and transition to in-home care. Initially her experience was fine and she felt fortunate for her treatment, especially the therapy .And, during the Labor-day holiday when the skeleton crew of aids were generally inattentive, she felt confident while taking care of her toilet and personal needs, getting out of and back into bed and using a walker to get to the bathroom without aid. Her recovery was confirmed 3 days later when her Orthopedic Surgeon said that she was cleared to put full weight on her mending hip AND GO HOME. Everyone told her she was progressing fine so she fully expected to depart there for home the following day but the social services person told her she must wait for the facilities doctor to"release" her that morning..We gathered her belongings and waited for the doctor to arrive but by noon, when ,we inquired, we were told that the doctor would not be in for 3 or 4 days. My wife told the social services person that she was anxious to go home now, but that person was opposed because she said their therapist did not approve. Fully frustrated, my wife said that she was not going to stay. Thereupon the social services person said that she MUST sign a release stating that she was departing without approval and, consequentially their facility has no LIABILITY. I advised my wife not to sign their form but, now fully frustrated, she agreed. I added a note praising the care she received and she signed. Thereafter the social services person told her that Hilltop will not refer her for in-home care and, basically, would not provide any further support. She added "don't ever come back for any reason". As we left in our wheel chair my wife was very visibly upset. Once we got home I asked my wife which of her medications (she's a heart/lung patient) she had been given today but she could not remember. So I called Hilltop and asked the male person who answered the care unit phone which medications she had been given and what medications were due today. He responded that they would not give my wife that information nor provide any further assistance whatever, that she should consult her "community doctor". I find that response cruel, spiteful and totally inconsistent with the Methodist principles as I understand them,AND POSSIBLY CRIMINAL. But Hilltop probably has nothing to fear because they have a form stating that they are not liable.

Our Aunt and Uncle have been at the Gardens of GreenRidge for almost a year now and we are so…read morepleased to have found this caring home staffed with such competent people. Our Uncle is in the memory unit - he needs a higher level of care and the ability to be kept from wandering away. His wife is literally on the other side of a locked door, able to see him and visit with him at any hour of the day or night - but without the constant worry that he will fall or wander away when she is sleeping. It's a good solution that allows them to be together without worry. Our Aunt is quite mobile, active, and socially engaged. And although neither wanted to leave their home of 60 years, she is no longer lonely, and no longer worries constantly about the ability to care for her husband. When our Aunt took a fall, she was placed in the hospital care portion of the Gardens of GreenRidge next door, and received excellent physical therapy. She is now back up walking around and feeling great. She loves the weekly bath in the deep soaking tub (attended by staff member) and the in-home hair stylist appointment each week. She raves about the meals, and loves seeing so many people she knew from years ago with whom she had lost touch. My husband and I are very pleased that the staff welcomes our visits, never asks us to call ahead, and always seems happy to see us. The facility is brightly lit, well taken care of, and smells fresh. Our Aunt and Uncle have good things to say about everyone and about the facility itself. Yes, they miss living at home, but both seem less stressed and are adjusting to a new style of life. We feel so fortunate that my sister-in-law and her husband found this facility, made the arrangements to have our Aunt and Uncle accepted here, and have a peace of mind that our family is well taken care of. We highly recommend a visit. The only reason I did not rate it 5 star for activities is that I am not aware of any "outings" into the community to go shopping, etc. This would add additional costs, I am sure, but would be a nice bonus.

Mom has a lovely private residence and enjoys joining others in the dining room for wonderfully-prepared meals and in the living areas for music, movies, pet visits, and a host of activities. She has access to her beloved Catholic Services and Communion. There are plenty of opportunities for conversation and attention! Laundry service and a hair salon are on site, as well as an ice cream parlor, and there are attractive, accessible grounds to walk and appreciate. SLT staff members are professional, friendly, and most caring! It is a relief for our family to know that there is 24-hour care available for Mom if needed. When family and friends visit, they experience the warm, family-like, welcoming atmosphere that Mom enjoys daily - such a plus! SLT allows its residents to age with dignity, a critically important aspect of an assisted living facility. The location of SLT is convenient to churches, parks, Seneca Lake, restaurants, shopping, the Geneva Public Library, doctors and dentists, Geneva General and F.F. Thompson Hospitals, and lectures and more at Finger Lakes Community College and Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

The semi-private rooms are spacious. It doesn't make you feel like you are putting your loved one in assisted living. You are placing them into a 'community' where they can make new friends or catch up with old ones. Seneca Lake Terrace provides excellent care for our mom. We live out of state which makes it difficult to visit. The staff keeps in touch on a regular basis to keep us updated on our mom's health, doctor appointments, and general overall health. They offer daily activities which you can or not participate in, it is totally up to the individual. They even have a hair salon. If you are considering placing your loved one in assisted living, I would highly recommend Seneca Lake Terrace.

First 6 hours there, they didn't even offer to assist my 92 yr old Grandma to the bathroom after she came from a 5-week hospitalization. She fell twice the 1st day and had huge bruises on her arms and face the next day. They lost her $5,000 hearing aide and most all of her clothing in the first week. They ignored her dietary instructions and gave her meat although she is a vegetarian and didn't give her the protein shakes ordered by her physician. They soon strapped her in a wheelchair or left her in bed for hours on end, sitting in her own urine and feces all day. Every time we called, no one answered the phone. We would call several times in a row, several times daily. They told us that she would scream out in the night, which she had never done before at home or in the hospital. After the 1st week, she was nodding out when we came to visit. She told us they were giving her pills at night and told her "Now you'll sleep!" By Day 12, she had to be taken to the ER by ambulance (at our request) as she had gained nearly 20 pounds of fluid and was in congestive heart failure. They nearly killed her. I wouldn't let this facility care for my dog! My Grandma is now thriving and walking again after Rehab at a much better facility!
