I thought I'd share this definition since the hotel staff clearly doesn't know the meaning of the word. We stayed at this hotel for our 29th anniversary and it was perfectly acceptable - not great, not horrible. So when our daughters decided to take their first parent-free road trip to Portland we booked their room on points. Right after we booked it I called the hotel to give them our daughters' names and request a credit card authorization. We wanted them to have our credit card on file for any incidentals so they wouldn't have to block out a "chunk of change" on one of the girls' debit cards. We were told that was fine. The day the girls were due to arrive my husband got a call from the hotel (probably because we are top tier rewards members). They said they were looking forward to his arrival and wondered what time they should expect him. He told them they shouldn't expect him at all, that it was our daughters that would be staying. He also told them that I called and gave them our daughters' names and sent a credit card authorization. My husband was then informed that they would need to physically have the card in hand in order to use it. They said the only other choice was to block out a significant amount on one of their debit cards (essentially the entire balance) or the girls wouldn't be given a room. My husband and I were outraged. Here was this hotel staffer telling us that our children would be denied a room we'd already paid for and left to sleep in their car. He had to go to a meeting so I called the hotel. I phoned and asked for the GM. Not available. I asked for the phone number of the GM's superior. That was a non-starter. Frustrated I asked for any available manager. I was told that they were busy but if I left my name and number someone would get back to me "sometime tomorrow." That wasn't going to work for me. They needed their room that night. So I spent ten minutes arguing with Destiny who insisted they did not use credit card authorizations. She gave me one line of BS after another and wouldn't find a manager who could be bothered with HOSPITALITY. Finally, I'd had it. I told her my next call was to La Quinta corporate. Suddenly she said, "why don't I send you a credit card authorization?" WHAT???!!! Up to this point she kept saying CC authorizations were not an option. I can't imagine what changed her mind. I was so fed up I called La Quinta corporate customer service. I told the above story. They had someone from the hotel call me which was a complete waste of time. The corporate line is that they are not responsible for what the various locations do. I beg to differ. Each of those hotels has a big La Quinta sign. These people can't have it both ways. They trade on the name when it works for them but disavow it any time anyone has a bad experience. My husband has a corporate account with them. I'm going to suggest he close it and make a deal with a different chain.

Because you get a massage and a scrub, and it was amazing.I have to admit I fell asleep a couple times. Later that evening, we came to eat, and I am so glad I made a reservation, because I heard multiple people try to drop by on a Saturday night and get turned away because of how busy they were. And I have to say, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Luke was our waiter and he made sure that we were well taken care of. I also appreciate that they kept the bread coming, which was warm and so yummy. My favorites were the ficasha and the dinner rolls. We were hungry. So we jumped right in to the main course. I had the seabass, and shared the a la carte mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Everything was tasty. Then, Luke took my celebration to the next level. By not treating me too 1 dessert but two desserts because of my party size. We got the coconut key lime pie and the cheesecake. They were both delicious, but my favorite was the key lime pie. When I come back to Choctaw, for a special occasion, I will be coming to the steakhouse again.

It was my second time but my husbands first time. We checked in at the spa tower. Valet was included in our resort fee of 19.99 per day. Check in was easy and we went to get our casino cards. We walked around about 4 hours, even tho our room was ready when we arrived. Dropped our bags and left. We were on the 9th floor. Nice room and decent view. The casino is gigantic! So many games, slots and table games. There is a movie theater , concert venue, bowling alley, arcade, several restaurants and bars and a food court. We didn't make it to the pool but got wristbands in case we had time. Only there for 1 night. Casino: slots were tight but I played for most of the night on various blackjack and roulette games. My winnings were steady. There are plenty of machines. The only negative is while you are playing, bar service is pretty much nonexistent. I saw waitresses walking around the tables but not once at the machines and we were all over. Get your own drinks at a bar or cart before sitting or prepare to get up to get them. Food: we ate at Smashburger for lunch. I really enjoyed my burger and fries. They were smash fries with a nice sauce on them and truffle oil. The burger was flavorful. I got a caramel Cinnabon. Another great treat. For dinner we went to the seafood buffet. It was 55.00 each and we were excited. Every.single.thing was overcooked. Fried fish, shrimp, chicken and snow crabs, all overcooked so hard I couldn't finish one bite of any of them. That bad. The etouffee was good but the rice was crispy. I immediately called for the manager. She apologized profusely and offered a full refund. Yeah we couldn't eat there. Great service and I hope they took the feedback and made changes. Finally, I ate velvet taco and hubby had chicken strips from the hot chicken place , good late night eats on both fronts. Checkout time on Sunday arrived too fast but we got packed up to hit the road and got our free soft drinks to go. Got the valet validated and on our way. Excellent stay and we will go back. Our most recent flight transfer through Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) was an…read moreextremely upsetting experience with TSA. Although we both have Global Entry, we were randomly selected to go through regular security screening. At first, we had no reason to question it. When we first approached the TSA PreCheck personnel, she told us that our digital boarding passes did not show PreCheck and that we needed to go through regular security. To save time, we went to the American Airlines desk and requested paper boarding passes. When we brought them back, the TSA personnel told us that she had just learned that we had been "randomly" marked for regular security screening. We then went to the regular security checkpoint, which had a much longer line and took approximately four times longer than the PreCheck line. When we finally reached the metal detectors, however, we were instructed to line up for the X-ray scanner instead. The woman directly in front of us was allowed to go through the regular metal detector, while we were directed to the scanner. Then, people behind us were also sent to the scanner, while other passengers were allowed to continue through the metal detector. At that point, we began noticing a very disturbing pattern. The people being held back and directed to the scanner appeared to be African American, Asian, or Hispanic, while the passengers being allowed through the metal detector appeared to be white. We understand that TSA screening can be random, but seeing this pattern unfold right in front of us was extremely difficult to ignore. It felt like blatant racial profiling. After this experience, I now question whether we were truly "randomly" selected in the first place. We have taken more than 10 flights since getting Global Entry, and this was the first time we were ever "randomly" selected for regular security screening. We genuinely believed it was simply a random screening until we experienced what happened at the security checkpoint. Because of the additional screening, we lost valuable time during our connection. We had only about 1 1/2 hours between flights, and by the time we finally cleared security, the boarding closing time printed on our boarding passes had just passed. We panicked and ran to the nearest American Airlines desk. Thankfully, a staff member checked our flight and kindly assured us that the flight was delayed and that boarding had just started. We then ran from Terminal D to Terminal B, including taking the airport train, and barely made it in time for boarding. We had no opportunity to use any of the airport amenities, restaurants, or shops, so unfortunately, we cannot comment on those. What we can comment on is how upsetting and unacceptable it was to feel that we were treated differently because of our race. No traveler should have to experience this. I sincerely hope DFW and TSA will look into how passengers are being selected and directed through these screening lines.
