As I embarked on my journey to buy a travel trailer my plan was to visit 3-4 dealerships along the…read more35 corridor in DFW. The first and only stop was Camping World. Chance and his trainee Brian greeted me with openess and support with what I was looking for. Chance listened to my needs and wants and quickly combed through their inventory and we came across my New Northern Spirit Coachman! It is perfect for my situation and had all of the upgrades and the build was way better than most other brands I had looked at. Chance did a great job getting me the specs and information to make sure it was the right fit for my truck and was able to quickly answer my concerns. We then got to the not so fun part, negotiations. I had a budget and this unit was well above it, but Chance introduced me to Sydney, the sales manager. Sydney took the time to get to know my situation as well as getting to know me. I felt like both of them cared about what was important to me and we came to a good price that was fair and we made sure I had all of the accessories and hitch to make sure my RV expreience was setup for sucess versus headaches when you are out in nature with no resources. After we closed on the sales price and signed the deal, the service team headed by Steven was another positive experinece. Steven with his NY accent, which I loved, walked me through all of the ins and outs of the new rig. He gave me the run down of storing and winterizing the rig as well as tips and tricks to help make my experince setup for success. I did have an issue with the installation of my washer dryer combo but Nick, the owner, steped up and made it right by giving me some consessions and that made the issue feel less negative. Overall buying any RV or vehicle is going to be a long and stressfull process but the team at Camping World did a great job making my process easy and did it was class and I felt like part of the family. Thank you Team! P.S. Alexis at the front desk is also a rockstar of a person who was warm and welcoming. Thank you!

From the beginning, there were serious concerns around transparency. I was upsold on parts that were already installed on the unit--this was later confirmed, and I had to go through the process of getting one of those items refunded. I was also pushed to purchase a solar setup that was already installed on the RV. These are not small oversights--they are major red flags. The most serious issues, however, have been with financing and payments. I was explicitly told that McClain's would be covering initial payments due to delays on their end. Not only did they fail to properly execute those payments, but I later learned from my lender that attempted payments were declined, resulting in my account being placed in a past due status. To prevent further damage, I made the payment myself--only to then be contacted by McClain's attempting to collect from me directly for that same payment. I was also asked to reimburse them for payments they claimed to have made, which, according to my lender, were never successfully processed. On top of that, McClain's failed to properly finalize our financing application, which resulted in additional, unnecessary credit pulls. Our credit was hit again, and our score dropped another 30 points due to an issue entirely on their end. What's most disappointing is that I have now asked--multiple times--for clarification and resolution on why I was being asked to make payments for amounts that were never actually paid, and I have provided proof to support this. I have yet to receive a response. At this point, the lack of accountability is just as concerning as the mistakes themselves. This situation should have been handled immediately and professionally. Instead, I was given no clear communication, no statement, no explanation--just a demand for payment with no runway and no acknowledgment of their errors. They allowed the account to fall past due due to their failure to finalize and process things correctly, and rather than going above and beyond to make it right, they have left me to deal with the consequences. To add to this, my husband is a disabled veteran, and this situation has created completely unnecessary stress and strain that no family should have to deal with--especially over issues that were entirely preventable. This entire experience has been disorganized, stressful, and completely unacceptable. It has required hours of my time to correct mistakes that should never have happened, and it has put my credit at risk due to their lack of accountability and follow-through. At no point should a customer be put in a position where they are cleaning up financial errors made by the dealership. I would never recommend McClain's to anyone. Proceed with extreme caution. If this is how they handle financing and customer accountability, I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before trusting them with a purchase of this size.

We do not have a resolution to repair the issue. They had to file a warranty claim, and now they do not have the part to fix the problem. We only obtained that information by our continuing to call. During that time I dealt with four different people in the service department because the point of contact kept changing. Getting updates was difficult and most of the time I had to repeatedly call, leave messages, or physically drive to the dealership just to get information. Even then, the responses often felt dismissive and unhelpful. I do understand that staffing changes happen and one of the service advisors is no longer there, but that does not excuse the complete lack of communication and customer service we experienced. What made the situation even more frustrating was finally picking up the RV after almost two months only to discover that the recall related issues were still happening exactly as before. We returned to discuss the problem and initially were told the technician drove the RV and everything was fixed. However, deeper in the technician notes it stated that Spartan, the chassis manufacturer, does not yet have a fix for these known issues. Apparently the problems are known and not considered unsafe, but no one communicated that to us before pickup. Had someone simply explained the situation honestly and proactively, this entire experience would have gone much differently. Instead we spent two months waiting, struggled to get updates, picked up the RV believing the issues were resolved, and immediately discovered they were not. We chose NIRVC because of the positive image they project online and through RV influencer reviews, but based on our experience the service department fell far short of expectations. The lack of communication, poor follow through, and failure to clearly explain unresolved issues made this an incredibly disappointing experience.
