Just stayed at the Super 8 by Wyndham on S. Hampton Rd in Dallas, TX this past weekend. Avoid this motel at all costs! It is clearly not being maintained to Super 8 by Wyndham standards. Motel is in very, very poor condition. Black mold around tub, chipped toilet seat, splatters of dried blood or feces on wall in bathroom, stains on carpet, badly stained chairs, a brown stain on mattress covering and a broken air conditioner. Also, key stopped working on first night and manager (accidentally) barged into my room while I was in bed (he said he was trying to go into an adjacent room). By email, I've not asked for a refund but instead I've asked for credit at another Wyndham property for the cost of my stay. The manager, Steve, has replied telling me since I didn't complain while staying there he would do nothing. Keep in mind, not all of the filth was discovered immediately and that I chose that motel since it was near the airport for the Wings Over Dallas Airshow. There was a midair collision at that airshow and I watched six people die just a few hundred feet in front of me. I didn't complain because after that experience, I wasn't about to argue with a manager who has cardboard boxes piled in the lobby and on the complimentary breakfast counter, and who wouldn't give me copies of the two papers I signed at check-in and then never gave me a proper receipt upon checking out. This hotel is a dump. Super 8 is a budget brand but this place and the attitude of the manager is not even up to budget standards. If this is a franchise property, Super 8 by Wyndham should cancel that contract ASAP. The only people who would find this motel acceptable are meth heads and toothless prostitutes.

If we could give no Stars this would be it. The Rooms are very outdated and made up to the Minimum. The Pool which we were exited about hasnt been in Service for a long Time which was very dissapointing. Breakfast is from 6am - 9am and we came in at 8am with no Breakfast other than a couple off frozen waffles. But to our luck there was a McDonalds within walking Distance. The Bathroom was full of black Mold around the Bathtub Area and the Ceiling. The Firealarm was beeping half of the Night until we took it down and removed the Battery. When we notified the Frontdesk they told us they were aware of it. Why not fix it? For $ 90 a Night go somewhere else.

Checked into the Super 8 on Hampton and Dallas and for the price was reasonable it ran 61 dollars plus tax for two people a king size bed. Initially walked into the room everything seemed really clean. What I didn't see were dirty toilets or ring around the bathtub, linen was clean no burn holes or stains and staff was the overall friendly. The rooms come equipped with microwave refrigerator ironing board iron and coffee machine. Outside was well lit and it was good to see that there was no one hanging around outside. In addition the front office was clean and the desk clerk had a video of the full parking area. I just read a 21 day ago review and thought I would see for myself about the bed bug issue before I dared to lay down and found zero bed bugs. I would say the way this motel could improve would be maybe to get better mattresses on a scale of 1 to 10. The comfort of this bed would rate at about a seven.

Omni Dallas Hotel - Omni Dallas Hotel

Omni Dallas Hotel

Downtown

Came here for business trip. Stayed for 14 days…read more Coworkers recommended this location as it sits in Downtown Dallas. The hotel is nice, however outside the hotel it's not nice. There's lots of homeless people outside and not safe in my opinion. Just beware when booking. There wasn't many highly rated restaurants near Omni hotel, had to drive to places. They also host lots of events outside the hotel on their lawn. Hotel is nice. Staffs are super polite and trained. Everything is clean and super decorative. Hotel has restaurants on the first floor, they have small pool, small gym, and spa which you have to pay for. I stayed for two weeks and needed my clothes washed. The hotel does have a service where they send it out to get it washed. But it was insanely expensive. To wash a shirt was around $10. It would have cost me like $150-$200 for a week worth of clothes. I drove 20 min to the nearest coin laundry and spent couple dollars. Would love to see coin laundry in the hotel. Gym: The gym has dumbbells that only go up to 75lb. No barbells. The machine to do back, arms, etc were uncomfortable to use. Pool: Pool is on the same floor as the gym. Can see downtown Dallas. I think it's infinity pool(?) but it's pointing to the hotel building rather than facing downtown Dallas. Room: Room was super nice. The A/C is amazing, works very well. As soon as I got back to room, I set room to 62F. Then to 68F when i got cold. I stayed for 14 days and found out on my last day that there's a fridge hidden in the cabinet. I was super upset about that. The soaps, shampoo, etc are nice. The staff gives you new set even if you are using them and not empty. Price: My rate was $170 through business portal. So probably cheaper. For 14 days (13 nights), I paid little over $3000 due to various taxes and parking your rental car is like $30(?) a day. Really nice hotel, fast elevators, has gym/spa, near freeway and in Downtown Dallas. I just didn't like the environment as soon as you leave the hotel, feels unsafe.

Unfortunately, our stay was extremely disappointing, especially considering the price we paid…read more To start, parking costs an additional $20 per night, which would be understandable if it were convenient, but it is not. The parking garage is a significant distance from the rooms, making it a long walk every time you need to get to or from your vehicle. Check-in was smooth enough, but the staff was not particularly welcoming or friendly. When we got to our first room, it smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, and the air conditioning didn't appear to be working at all. The room was extremely hot. We were moved to a second room, which looked identical and had the same strong smoke odor. After two failed room attempts, we requested a refund, but were told it would have to be handled through Expedia. We were also told that Expedia typically does not issue refunds, which left us feeling like we had very few options. Since that wasn't practical at the time, we settled for a third room. The third room was slightly better, but we were downgraded from our original bed arrangement to two full-size beds. This was very inconvenient because there were three adults in our group, and we specifically booked our original room arrangement to accommodate everyone comfortably. Having to share smaller beds was not what we paid for or expected. On the first day, the toilet clogged and continuously ran, requiring maintenance. The elevator felt unsafe and unreliable, one of the escalators was out of service, and construction was taking place throughout the property. What was most concerning was that several comments from staff suggested these issues are common. The front desk agent moved us to a higher floor and stated she "normally doesn't have problems with those rooms," which implies she is aware that problems regularly occur in other rooms. When moving us to the third room, another employee said, "If you have a problem with this one too, just call so you don't have to walk all the way back down here," which again made it seem like room complaints are an everyday occurrence. The bartender was also surprisingly rude. We asked if she could make a mocktail for our pregnant friend, and her response was simply, "Just tell me what you want me to put in it," delivered with an attitude that made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. What made this even more frustrating was that the drinks at the bar were far from cheap. When guests are paying premium prices for food and beverages, basic courtesy and customer service should be expected. To make matters worse, the roof was leaking in multiple areas throughout the property, with trash cans and towels placed around to catch water. We are not people who typically leave negative reviews or complain. We even tried to speak with someone before leaving to provide feedback, but were essentially met with a quick "sorry" and nothing more. We weren't looking for free items or compensation; even a small gesture of concern would have gone a long way. Instead, it felt like nobody cared about the issues we experienced. To top it all off, after explaining everything we had dealt with during our stay, the response we received was simply, "Sorry. Make sure you leave your key in the drop box." That pretty much summed up the level of customer service we experienced throughout our stay. Overall, between the extra parking fees, inconvenient parking situation, cigarette-smelling rooms, broken amenities, plumbing issues, ongoing construction, roof leaks, the room downgrade, expensive bar prices, and the lack of customer service, this was not the experience we expected and is not a hotel we would choose to stay at again.

We had breakfast in the hotel and our server was helpful, friendly and had a sense of humor. We visited the pool and were surprised that it was not heated. The hotel gym was decent, could use a better (newer) bench but it had the basics. Our room had everything we needed (the bed was quite soft) and a great view of the eye across the street. My first shower would only get warm and not hot so maintenance had to come up and show me a safely button to push which allows the water to get hot. This was after texting with hotel staff (a very helpful option) but surprising that they didn't just tell me about the button and chose to send maintenance. We were in room 852 on the North side of the hotel and overlooking the eye. We came back from dinner around 10 on Saturday night and were kept awake until about 1:30am. I guess Main St is where people choose to drive their cars with the music so loud it feels as though it's in your hotel room. The motorcycles and cars also like to rev their engines.... A LOT. The windows appear to be single pane and they don't keep any noise out at all. Due to the noise level, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.  Being on the 8th floor and feeling like I was in the cars that were driving on main st and blaring music 2 nights in a row was incredibly disappointing.  If this was a 2 star hotel, okay.  That is not the case.  Upgrade the windows to double or triple pane.  Your location is great, service was friendly and efficient, but one generally wants to sleep at night and that is not possible at your hotel. We even asked the front desk on our second morning if we should change rooms and were told Sunday nights were quiet. I should have listened to my gut as our Sunday night was not quiet. Although the amount of cars & motorcycles wasn't as much as on Saturday, we still heard several cars with music blaring or motorcycles reviving their engines until around 1am. This was the beginning of a long overdue vacation and birthday celebration and it did not get started on the right foot unfortunately.

Maybe this is what Tina Turner meant when she wrote "Simply the best!"…read more Most famous for being the haven Tina Turner sought after fleeing her abusive husband Ike in July 1976. If you want to commemorate Tina Turner, nothing beats it. Lorenzo Hotel, let's stay together. The creative, quirky, and poetic 237-room boutique is known for being an eclectic and vibrant art gallery with a different theme for each floor. Floor 1 is a mix-up with Shakespeare, Alice in Wonderland, Poe, and Einstein. Floor 3 is Literature & Journalism (if you like old printing presses this may be your type). Floor 4 is the Music Floor (vintage audio). Floor 5 is Mid-Century Modern (1960s Dallas history). Floor 6 is "Dali" or Surrealism Floor. Floor 8 is Botanical & Nature (floral pops of color). Floor 9 is Pop Art (bold and graphic). Floor 10 is Cinematic History (Hollywood glamour). Floor 11 is The Tina Turner Tribute. Floor 12: Skyline / Skye Ballroom event level with massive floor-to-ceiling windows. We stayed in Floor 7, which is "Literary Noir" (drama and mystery). We had a broken, blinking Neon sign, a wobbly ceiling fan, broken blinds, matchbooks full of phone numbers, an unfinished manuscript, an ashtray full of cigarettes, and a dead body in the tub. Not really. But we did have a giant seven foot "desk lamp", a paintbrush and frame above our bed, and and a carpet made from Hamlet quotes in Room 704. Dining: Hamilton's is the main on-site restaurant and bar, with a host or hostess in the lobby smiling at us when we walked in. Taco Enzo and Kolache Korner are in the refurbished shipping containers in the massive parking lot. The lobby store is small and not cheap but it beats a vending machine, especially if you want an ice cream sandwich or fingernail clippers. The "South Beach" pool is saltwater, so it's softer on the skin, eyes, and hair and avoids red eyes, green hair, and pool smell. Location: Though the Cedars district is the industrial historic heart of the Dallas arts scene, it's a bit gritty and has *freeway noise*, with gentrification friction, being a patchwork of high-end luxury lofts sitting right next to dilapidated industrial warehouses, making it feel half vibrant but half abandoned. The Walkability Score is 73, thanks to massive railroad tracks, the I-30, current construction, and inconsistent sidewalks. Be warned this isn't a tree-lined, window-shopping destination like Uptown or Bishop. Finding food, a drink, and even a movie will be much easier than groceries or a pharmacy (though drugs is a different story). Service: Everyone was awesome, especially Precious, who was, like her name Precious. That explains why they don't hire Dicks.

We enjoyed staying at Saint Elm…read more We were in the area for a concert and decided to make it a weekend in Dallas. We booked a king room at Saint Elm for 2 night. About the Hotel I don't know the history of the hotel but I can tell it's a well kept older hotel. I like how they kept some elements of its legacy. The lighting, the mail chute and more, add to the charm of this place. The lobby is a modern twist with an emphasis on audio entertainment. There are a lot of record albums on display as art. There's a small walk up cafe for quick bites and drinks and you can take a comfy seat in the lobby to enjoy your snack. From the lobby, you can peer down into and access the Toussaint restaurant and bar. About our Room Our room (603) was spacious and functional. It included a king bed, 2 large side tables, a round bistro table with one chair, a large flat screen TV above a long counter to drop some of your stuff onto. It had a large wardrobe for hanging clothing plus a valuable safe. It had a bar with glassware and coffee service (Keurig). The bathroom was spacious and functional, though the sliding entry door did leave a large gap, taking a bit of privacy away from the commode area. If there was a con for this room, I'd say it was lighting and lack of outlets on one side of the bed. The room did have lighting, but it was very dim. Convenience We really loved the location of the Saint Elm. It was nearly next door to the Majestic Theater where we were going for a concert. It's walking distance to some great restaurants and sights. We'd stay at the Saint Elm again.

This was my main draw to selecting this property. The air conditioner is only "allowed to" go down to 68 degrees. Sick of this save the planet aka save their money cooling restrictions. Is it really worth saving 50 cents a night to not allow your guests to sleep cool? The thick bedding / sheets are not breathable and I had a hard time sleeping. Only after I asked to check out early did they miraculously "get approval" to remotely reduce the room temperature by 2 degrees. What a joke. $350/night for a Holiday Inn level staffing and guest experience. The only good thing about this place is the location. Other than that I'll save my money and stay somewhere else where I'm valued.

Its time for "Story-time with Adam Cole Baby" (don't sue me TK, I'm working class and can't afford the lawyers) The TLDR: This is a serviceable hotel with great front desk and that's about it. I wouldn't feel comfortable with any single female friends/family to stay there by themselves. The very first interaction I had in Dallas, the VERY FIRST was a *ahem* "lady of the night as I was getting out of my Lyft and approaching the front doors of the hotel. She walked directly in my path, looked me in the eye, and with no warning said: "For $50 you can do whatever you want to my asshole" Do you know how hard it is to make me speechless? I muttered and stuttered my way past the woman to check in. Homeless people and working girl are a REAL problem here. In my eight days there every time I left the hotel I ran into one group or the other, some times both. I check in, go to my room, do a quick inspection and in the shower I find.....black mold!!!! An easy enough fix I think, I go downstairs report it to the front desk, go off to the market for supplies, and come back. The front desk guy tells me that he's made a concoction of sorts that gets rid of mold and he's left it in my room for me to apply it in the shower. A VERY WTF moment!! Bro I don't work here, and don't know enough about this chemistry experiment you've cooked up. I go back downstairs and they finally give me a new room. I'm not much of a complainer and I have a clean new room so let's just sleep and see what the next day bring. I wake up and decide to hit the breakfast. I grab some undercooked bacon and potatoes, as I'm grabbing juice I notice the employees were closing everything down (five minutes early but I get it) the really weird/annoying thing was that they were turning the lights off on all the people still eating. It felt like last call at a seedy dive bar. Like I said, I understand wanting to go home but turning the lights out on your guests was a complete and utter FAIL. My last notch in the complain column is that the building itself could really use some attention. When it was raining the ceiling by the front door was flooding like a TLC song. The elevators never seemed clean either. So if I'm going all Final Justice on my review why did I give it a three star and not a one? All the positives come from the front desk agents. Jasmine was the best agent I've had the pleasure to deal with in almost a decade. She was warm, welcoming, and quick as a whip. Every day that I came downstairs she had a different suggestion on where I should go and what I should eat. Honestly if I was building a management team from the ground up, I would poach Jasmine in a heartbeat. So yes on the strength of one employee a hotel gained two stars. Otherwise I can't really recommend stay here until they make some major changes
