I decided to have Acrylic Nails put on after several years. I decided to try one of the new nail salons that have opened near Rogers Road area in Wake Forest for my Acrylic Nails. A couple of weeks later, I went to another salon for my fill-in. They both did OK work but charged quite a bit for their work. So, I decided to go back to the salon I had used years ago - Idol Nails for my most recent fill-in. Idol Nails still does the best job around for the best price around. No, they aren't the big and bright, shiny new salon. But they have a lovely, pleasant and clean salon. But most importantly, they do great work for a fair price. And I will be going back to Idol Nails on Rogers Rd by the Harris Teeter. read more

After reviewing some places nearby, we schedule a same-day Mani/Pedi appointment at Idol Nails. We had made a mistake while scheduling and we're unable to get the designs and looks we wanted. However, the two ladies that helped us were so wonderful at providing ideas and solutions! They took their time to offer alternatives to designs by providing a book of stickers for our nails. Eric corrected (actually a complete redo) a mess of a manicure I'd had done elsewhere. I wish that I'd found Idol Nails first. Eric is gentle and did a wonderful job. The shaping is wonderful and he didn't hurt me at all -- that might not sound like much, but the technician at the other shop hurt me on multiple occasions and left me with nails that didn't look right. I've had "nails" of all sorts for decades so I know when I have received excellent service or not. I received excellent service from Eric at Idol Nails. Eric did a beautiful job. I'll be back. I've been going here for over 2 years now and I love them. I'm a kind of quiet person sometimes (not shy, just quiet), and it never seems to bother them like it can some people. They'll talk if you want to, or just let you watch HGTV on the TVs mounted on the wall. I've gotten manicures, pedicures, dip powder, and acrylics done here, and I'm always happy. Their sanitation practices during this pandemic are what have really impressed me though. At first, I felt kind of bad starting to get my nails done again, like I might be putting myself and my household in danger for purely cosmetic reasons. But I feel safer here than anywhere else I've been, and the service is still top notch. read more

i don't usually leave reviews but these nails are so bad. i have prom in 2 days and now i have to get them corrected at a different salon. when i walked in a guy started doing my nails and then did them to the point where I couldn't leave and told me someone else was going to finish my nails. then a woman took over and she really tried to get them right but it seemed like she just didn't have the skills. i feel bad bc she really did try but it's still so bad. the nails themselves are thick and curving upwards. there's even small hairs trapped in one of my nails. i would recommend coming here if you just want a simple pedicure but not for acrylics... read more

they wouldn't honor my daughters gift certificate...they said she altered the expiration date. She did not, and even if she had, gift certificates with exp dates in the state of North Carolina are good for three years. Gift cards and gift certificates don't expire. For her to accuse my daughter, who is standing right there is awful. They took $50 from us and didn't honor her gift certificate. read more

I love Idol. I've lived at Wake Forest my whole life and about 11 years ago I had my first mani-pedi there and now at 18 I keep going back. Sometimes my technician is better then other times but I've never had a bad experience. The pricing is very fair and the salon is always clean. Even with a full and busy salon they move clients through quickly while still providing a quality experience. If you're lucky to go in when they aren't super busy the technicians are friendly and chatty. I would say your best bet is to go in for a walk in a few times and find a technician you like then then just book appointments directly with them. Sometimes it can be hard to book an appointment over the phone. The only reason I give it 4 stars not 5 is because your experience (the small difference between good and great) could depend on your technician and the day but it's never bad. read more

I've been going to the same nail salon for pedicures for years but I recently decided to change things up and try somewhere new. I am so glad I did! Pedicures are usually kinda stressful for me because my feet are extremely ticklish! However, my experience at Idol Nails was so nice because of Holly. She used the right amount of pressure so I did not experience the typical "tickle torture" that I usually do! As a result, it was very relaxing. She took her time and didn't rush through any part of the pedicure, even though they were busy. And her nail painting skills are awesome. I highly recommend Holly and Idol Nails. For a Wednesday afternoon, this location was pretty busy! They were properly staffed and I was able to get in for a spa pedicure right away. My technician was very friendly and made sure I was comfortable throughout the pedicure. She did an AMAZING job on my cuticles and leg/foot massages. I was only in town for a short while but whenever I'm back in the area, I will definitely be returning! One of the best pedicures I've ever had, and I'm pretty picky with mine. Service was great and place is really clean and fresh. I got the deluxe pedicure, which was really good but honestly felt like a regular pedicure in some of the other places I've been to. I think I expected a little bit more from the "deluxe" option. Overall I had a good experience, I was a walk in and was seated pretty promptly. After many catastrophes and not so pleasant experiences in nail salons, I finally found my new nail digs! This place switched owners within the past year because when I ventured in recently, it looked differently and was run WAY differently, in a positve way. The couple that owns in now are personable and very into what you want as the customer, not just doing what they do and you leave wondering why in the world you have weird designs on your nails that resemble two people.... well, you get my drift. They are attentive and that's the point I'm making. The great thing about this place is that once you begin with tools, they put them in a little box with your name on them so that you and only you, use the tools for your nails. Hello!! Sanitation at it's best!!! My nails and toes have never looked better, and I love that I am not at risk of catching something from tools that are used on everyone. I've never made an appointment, which I guess I could do, but with my schedule, I never know when I can venture in, but the few times I have been there, they have never made me wait longer than about 5 minutes, max. On a whim tried Idol Nails tonight and was very happy! Was able to walk in after work and get a spa pedicure and powder dip nails. Clean facility. Employees were friendly and accomodating. My first experience in the area with having powder dip done was not good. Barely lasted a week without chipping. These folks knew what they were doing and I expect my nails will fair much better this time! I will be returning. read more

They did a okay Job on my nails but the service was completely horrible. The nail tech was having a conversation with someone else. His guest were totally invading my personal space. I had a great experience at Idol Nails! Definitely the best pedicure I've ever had - longest massage ever. Loved my gel manicure, too! I've tried a ton of other places in the area and haven't had great experiences. This place was clean, I changed my mind about 10 times on the color and the staff were all really nice and patient, and overall it's great quality for a great price. Bo (the tech) was amazing, and I'm praying she stays so I can keep going to her. I also saw them take a lot of precautions due to COVID-19 like wearing masks and gloves, using plexiglass between techs and clients, cleaning everything, and asking people to wash their hands before choosing a color. I used to go here all the time for my gel manicures and pedicures! At first it was fine, but they started to be rude.. I felt like everyone around me was more important because they knew them. They were also talking to others. Ok you don't need to have a conversation with me all the time but at least try it! Also my gel manicures didn't last long, I came back a few times and they were usually annoyed. Once I wanted to get it removed because I wasn't able to come for a few weeks and I had to pay extra because I wasn't getting an other service ?!?! Really?! I have been to this place at least 10 times over the past 1+. I have gone to different people, including the owners, and I am still not happy. I get the gel manicure every time I go, and after 4-5 days, it's peeling up from my cuticles. I went to Idol Nails one time and had a very good experience. Loved the color, and my manicure. They did a great job! The only issue I have is that they're closed on Sunday's when I usually have the time to get my nails done. I really want to go back, but have to plan better to get there during regular hours. I had a fantastic pedicure this afternoon with Lisa, but my manicure was awful! She pulled and cut my cuticles harshly and buffed my nails with a very rough surface. Because of this, the surface of several of my nails were scratched up and not smooth, so she had to re do several of the nails, a couple of them multiple times. She used the same gritty-surfaced buffer each time. I should have spoken up, but I just wanted her to finish. The nails look good now, but it was torture. I will not be going back. read more
