Experience: My nephew and I were visiting my friend and her and I decided to surprise her kid and my nephew with a "flight". Facility: very nice place set up perfectly for viewing the fun. Everything was organized and clean. We were the only patrons there. Service: we made the reservation on the phone. We hit some traffic and when I called and explained we would be about 10 minutes late, they told us it wasn't an issue. We were treated with respect and great, friendly customer service. I forgot the name of our guy, but he's in the photos. He was very nice and related well to the teens. He was patient and even gave us a session for free when we had a misunderstanding. I would want him again if we came back to this location. Overall: The only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is because is it just so expensive. I don't regret it because I know my nephew loved it, but it's definitely a splurge that is reserved for once in a while. Although I do have to say, the more you do it, the cheaper the price goes. Came here as a present for my 26th birthday and loved it SO much more than I thought I would! Indoor skydiving is something both adults and kids can EQUALLY enjoy and the staff are extremely courteous and patient. I saw an 8 year old do incredibly well, and so did her parents! This is something everyone had to experience at least once in their life. A few tips: 1) Try and fill out the waiver online ahead of time 2) If you're going as a couple, bring along another person to record you from the outside-- the footage/photos you can purchase isn't the best quality and my iPhone did a way better job 3) Those who experienced iFly already can get a discount code for others who want to try it for the first time! Don't pay the full price if you don't have to :) 4) wear shoes with laces so that you can tie them up tightly-- they will definitely fly off if too loose 5) if you DO happen to wear shoes that fly off easily (I.e. loafers without laces) they can provide you with a pair of extra shoes! Bring your own socks so you don't wear the thin disposable ones 6) small lockers are provided free of charge (enough to fit a purse and 2 pairs of shoes) 7) there's a parking lot so you don't have to pay for street parking read more

This review would've been five stars if it began on time. Our experience was to begin at 5:30, we didn't even begin the process of getting suited up until after 6pm. With that said, this was a very exhilarating and unique experience for my company's team building event. One of the main things they stressed in the pre-flight training session was to cheer on your fellow flyers and have a good time. Our instructor Miguel was very funny, extremely talented in his solo flight, and did a wonderful job of keeping all of us (especially myself) from flailing all around in the tunnel. I will say that this is much harder than it looks. When you're in the tunnel it was hard to breathe, very loud, and I couldn't control my body like practically at all. As such, I truly commend seasoned flyers who got accustomed to how it felt to fly their first couple times and stuck with it via future visits to sharpen their skills. I finally did it and loved it! Once you register and complete sign up, you most likely will get a call to confirm. I made reservations the same day so I figured this was to ensure I would make the call time. There's street parking but they have an adjacent lot for ease. You enter, sign in and complete your waivers. You also have to be weighed. Total check in was about 10 mins. Joe was the best hype man to get you ready for the day. Next, you go to the equipment counter and get all the essentials; suit, helmet etc. you and your group have a mini educational segment with your instructor. Here you learn more about what Ifly is and not. Most importantly you learn the hand signals. JJ was a nice instructor. Totally organized the session to meet all the needs and gave follow up after the first flight to improve the experience. Last stop is the tunnel. I opted for just 2 flights but one of going all the way to the top. So much fun. Once the flight group is done you exit to de-robe and can learn about additional classes. You receive your flight certificate. Again, a cool way to spend an hour or so. It was a nice adventure to celebrate my birthday and I would certainly go back. read more

What a fun time! Purchased a 5 person fly for the family this Xmas. My 4 kids and wife participated and I was the camera guy. Overall, everyone had a blast. Only downside, which was minimal, was that they weren't very timely on the appointment we set. We were scheduled for 5:30 and they didn't get to us till 6:15 or so. The instructor was awesome. The first time cost is somewhat expensive but you're offered a deal on the next time which we bought. Our 6 year boys loved it and we're thinking Birthday party here soon. Check it out. I had high hopes at the beginning but was very disappointed in the end. The instructor cut everyone's flight times short by 3-7 seconds. There were 12 people in the group and no one got their full time on either flight. And even though I paid extra for 2 extended flights that included a video and pictures they did not get a single photo of my son on either flight. In the video he's pointed at the cameraman and flying straight but no, not a single shot. iLove iFly! Definitely a fun and awesome experience! Full disclosure, I'm terrified of heights. 10-feet off the ground and it might as well be 100-feet for me. I realized as I get older, my fear of heights get worse. In my 20s, I was all about trying real skydiving.... then I got old. And never did it. With iFly indoor skydiving, they mention it is simulating the free-fall experience of the actual skydiving. Clearly it doesn't mimic the plane ride, or jumping out of a plane, but nonetheless, the free-fall part is pretty cool! When entering in, you are directed to a bank of computers, where you sign a waiver. After that, they weigh you to make sure you don't exceed the 250lb limit. Then they send you to a conference room for briefing. To get to the conference room, you walk through the area of the wind tunnel (there's only one wind tunnel) and you can see people already trying this out. Overall, the wind tunnel is in the middle of everything, and is transparent, so everybody and everything can watch (and laugh) at you as you frantically figure out how to indoor skydive. Our instructor Luke was hilarious. No..... he was awesome! Funny, informative, and just plain ol' fun, you can tell that he genuinely loves what he does. Luke explained to us all the hand signals, because its necessary as inside the wind tunnel, it is super loud. The main signals was "relax", "bend your legs", "straighten your legs", and "chin up". An instructor is always in the wind tunnel, so you're never alone. Most importantly, he mentions, he wants you to have fun, and fly on your own. After the brief tutorial, suit up, grab a helmet, and ear plugs, and get ready to fly and have fun! Overall, I had an absolute blast. As a person who is terrified of heights, this was a piece of cake. In no way or time did I feel like I was in danger, and I felt I was in good hands. You get two fly experiences -- each lasting around 60-secs, with a blinky LED/siren to warn you that you are on your last 10-secs. The time goes by fast, but it was so fun! You're pretty much hovering over a giant fan at the bottom, with a mesh netting. You don't go higher than 10-feet or so, but on the second flight, you get a choice of going al the way to the top, which I estimate to be around 40 or 50 feet. Hellz yeah, I wanted to do it! BATHROOM REVIEW: Located near the conference rooms, the bathrooms were spacious and clean. The men's consists of a few urinals and stalls, and everything was in working order. Sit or squat? I got tickets to iFly for Christmas and was soooo excited!! I've wanted to go indoor sky-diving for the longest and iFly did not disappoint. There was a pretty long wait (even though we had reservations) mostly because of the birthday part ahead of us. We arrived, got checked in (just a heads up they actually make you step on a scale and weigh), got suited up and ready to fly! Very excited that an iFLY opened up right in our neighborhood! My fiancee and I came in to experience some indoor skydiving, as she's afraid of heights and is more hesitant to jump out of a plane. I've gone skydiving before and wanted to see how the indoor experience compared and it was pretty awesome! We ordered a few minutes each of the iFLY experience, as well as the High flight package, where the instructor flies you all around the the tube. After getting our package finalized, we were brought into a room where our instructor, Miguel, gave us an overview of what we would be experiencing, hand motions to communicate while inside (you can't hear a thing when the fan is running), and how to properly position your body so you don't go spinning out all over the place. He was extremely friendly and made us feel very comfortable going into our session. There are free lockers to stow your belongings; after putting those away they will get you suited up with a full body suit, helmet, goggles, and ear plugs (optional but recommended). You then step into the wind tunnel with the instructor and start going at it! They will ensure you do not spiral out of control and start banging into the glass, because if you start to panic or flail your limbs, that's exactly what will happen. If you stay relaxed and keep your hips out, core tight, you'll have no problem. We picked up the movements pretty quickly, which made the experience a whole lot of fun! The high flight occurs at the end of the session, where Miguel grabbed one of our arms and legs and starting going up and down, all around the wind tunnel very quickly which was a blast. Miguel was awesome and hoping to return again with a much larger coporate group party. At the end of our session, we had videos that came with our package and Miguel walked us through some additional purchase options for cheaper flights next time. I had an AWESOMEEEE time. My friend took me here for a belated birthday activity so I'm not too sure about the prices. You register for a time slot before hand so when you walk in you register and get started. The waiting area is right by where you'll be "flying" so you get to see earlier people fly and get a feel for what you'll be doing. They give you your gear and you watch a tutorial/safety video then it's time to have fun! Depending on your level you'll be flying with an employee. Our guide was Adam and he was soooo great! He answered all of our question (me and my friend were nervous af) but he showed us a great time! We even got to do the high dive! When you think of just getting 2 60sec flies it sounds so short but is totally worth it! You feel like your in there for a while. HIGHLY recommend having the experience. I Believed I Could Fly. LOL Top Flight Experience. Wow is the word I would use to describe this amazing unique experience. I have been wanting to do indoor skydiving since last year. I made it appoint to add it again on My Adventure List of things to do. I saw this deal on Groupon ands went for it. I'm so Glad that I purchase this deal. It was such an exhilarating experience for me. The weather was nice out and I figure that a lot of folks would be out enjoy this nice Chi Town Weather. When I arrived I greeted by a nice customer service rep by the name of Joe. He was friendly and has such a great personality. He made sure to go over every detail with me and he even convince me to upgrade my flight. It was only a $10.00 up charge to add to the flight to go up a little higher. So, glad that I did choose to upgrade my flight. Since there was no one there except me I was up and ready to soar high. I walked on the other side to meet my instructor for rules and regulations LOL. I was introduce to Nell who would be my flying instructor. Nell was Superb..... I watched a 3 minute video on the flying instructions and I was even able to do a little demonstration in the class before heading out into the world of flying. Once that the class was over I headed out to get geared up for my flight. The rest is history for me. This experience allowed me to conquer my fears of heights. It was a pure of joy and lots of fun. I was laughing and smiling the whole time. My flight experience at IFly was a Blast. I can't wait to come back and fly with such a great staff. Very professional and full of fun. I truly recommend this place. Yes, it's a bit pricey I won't lie about that but be sure to watch out for deals on Groupon. We e been to ifly twice now. We always end up taking family when they are in from out of town. I will say, it's definitely a little pricey. It's about $70/person and then when you get there, they definitely try to up sell you with this and that, so you can easily spend $100-140/person. The staff is all great. Overall dissatisfied with the experience for TWO reasons. We booked the last time slot of the evening and had two members of our group running 10 minutes late. The iFly team members wouldn't let those last two members of our party join us despite only missing a brief, what couldn't have been longer than five minutes, tutorial on how to properly position your body in the air tube and hand signals to look for from the instructor. The other 5 min were spent watching a promotional video for iFly. They had to be on time for that? Given what we paid, I don't think it would've been too much extend the courtesy. Instead two of our friends sat and watched us from outside the tube for an hour. The other part that was frustrating was that we had to pay extra to fly higher. No where in the "Exclusive Birthday" package did it detail how high we'd be flying. Then upon getting there, we were informed that we'd be floating anywhere between 3-5 feet high, and to fly "high" we'd have to pay and additional $20 per person. With how expensive the package was, we thought that would AT THE VERY LEAST have been included in the package. Overall would not recommend. read more

Ok. I myself did not do the fly. My nephews dI'd. They absolutely loved every second of this experience. My sister loved watching them but I'm not sure that she loved spending $100 for three minutes for two boys. That said be nervousness coupled with excitement coupled with just being able to do something that you normally wouldn't have been able to do seem to be worth the experience. That said I have to really say about the overall operation of this place is really good. Our instructor's name was Miguel. He was thoughtful kind and very willing to answer all and every question. He did a really good job of striking up at an immediate rapport with my nephews to make them feel at ease and that they would be safe. He was super good as an instructor when he was explaining things that they would need to do and how they would feel in their first time doing this highflying awesome experience. I know that my nephews would love to do this again and that my sister will probably bring them there sometime soon. It is a well run operation. Exciting. Exhilarating. BDAY FLY When I was a child we would go to McIcky & bowling alleys, if we were lucky for other kids birthdays parties. We never got invited to fly like an eagle. Today my 9 year old is going to be Peter Pan and all I get to do is watch her soar. I think I want to have my next birthday party here. Imagine a bunch of old people flying in a wind tunnel. It sounds more like an AARP commercial. Maybe I can get a corporate party sponsor. Are you listening AARP? Can you hear me? I can keep going with the old jokes but let's get back to flying. The weekends are really crowded here especially on a Saturday. It's like Disney World but in one little room. We visited here just to get a feel for the space and it was a mad house. I just wanted my little one to see people flying to make her comfortable if she ever decided to fly. Luckily we did because 5 days later she got invited to a birthday party. On the day of my daughters flight we arrived at 3pm on a Friday and there was no one here. It was very calm and relaxing unlike our visit on the previous Saturday. This place is social friendly because they have power ports installed near the couches. This is a social media persons dream. For once I don't have to sit against a wall on a dirty rug sucking juice for my iPhone. I give you high marks iFly for thinking about adding in the outlets for us non flying observers. You are allowing me to iSurf. My little one is currently in the training room while I am writing this review. The briefing takes about 15 minutes. I'm not in the room but I'm imagining the moment is similar to a scene from Top Gun. Hopefully the instructor isn't yelling at my little angel. After the briefing they head over to gear up. The instructor informs everyone that the jump suits will be baggy and must be zipped up and then velcro'd closed. This is all getting very real. I'm thinking of giving my little one a call sign like Angelic. It's not as cool as Maverick but it will have to do. She has a big smile on her face. This means she's not going to chicken out but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed. The whole group enters the tube area with the giant fan that will propel them into the air. Each person gets a minute thirty with the instructor. The instructor uses signs with his hands to tell the flyers what to do. For example, if he points his finger up he wants you to stick your chin up. All of this communication is important because the wind tunnel is noisy. Flyers are also given air plugs so verbal cues inside the wind tube would never work. It was time for my little one to fly. She walked up and watched the instructor and she was flying around the tube in seconds. The first flight is very tame as the instructor is your safety net. He was making sure each flyer knew how to control their body in order to float and move around the tube. During the last 10 seconds flashing red & blue lights start blinking. This was similar to being pulled over by a police car on a dark windy road. This gives the instructor the sign to wrap it up and go to the next flyer. Once everyone in the group has had their first flight it is now time for your second flight which I believe was only a minute. The instructor let's you float around the tube. Then he grabs on to you and takes you all the way to the top. It looks like crazy fun. I did not get to fly but I totally wanted to be in there as my little one went up and down. The instructor moved his body to control every inch of the flight. It was like watching air ballet without music. Once everyone was done it was time for some marketing. The instructor went on a flying binge by himself. He showed off all of his moves. He looked like a superhero flying all around the wind tube. He did this cool move where he was standing straight up, while floating and going around in a circle. It looked like he was stuck in a blender. I did post a video clip of it on Yelp so check it out. His moves were so sick as he flew all around. Yes this was marketing because everyone in the room wanted to be this guy. I wanted to be him and I didn't even get to fly. My little one kept saying, "I want to do it again!" So that's a great sign for iFly because when she goes back to school she is going to tell everyone about it. This place is going to be the go to place for the cool kid parties. My review was written from the perspective of the viewer. I didn't get to fly but I sure wanted to. I only came to support my little one in case she freaked out and didn't want to go. I did have fun watching her and I can't wait to come back but this time Maverick is going to fly. iFly LP is pretty great. It's brand spanking new so everything from head to toe is so fresh and so clean. All the staff were very helpful from intake on the phone reservations all the way to greeting upon entry and set up to the instructors teaching and assisting. I brought my 9 yr old Son and his three cousins, also around that age, and they were blown away (no pun intended.doh) and beyond excited. For kids that age it's definitely doable if not a bit scary due to the extreme nature of indoor skydiving. However, once they get a a few practice "jumps" in with the instructor, they were gtg. Would definitely recommend checking this place out and esp for kids, they will have a blast! read more

To the instructors being knowledgable and honest with the packages offered and what level my kids are flying. We originally discovered iFly in Lincoln Park just before Christmas. I found a Groupon and went to Naperville. Realizing the package was basic, I upgraded so my kids can have the awesome full experience. Only on your visit can you buy a return package at a discounted rate. I had purchased a return package but was able to redeem at the Lincoln Park location. Adam and Daniel smoothed out any confusion I had with my package from another location. This is our second time flying and my older son is making progress. This is something I've wanted to do for years. I bought a Groupon last year (it expired, but they still took the promotional value, which is great). The whole experience is only 4 cumulative minutes, but there is set up, training, and rotating who is in the wind tunnel; man that 4 minutes is crazy. As scary at it seems, the instructor is fantastic at making you feel at ease, which is necessary for something like this. Plus they take photos and videos that you can purchase later. What an exhilarating experience! Yes, it is expensive, but with the qualifications of the staff and their equipment expense, I can understand. Some suggestions to have a positive experience: 1. Save some money by going to Costco and buy gift coupons. You can buy $50 worth of services for $35. 2. Make a reservation and get there on time. You can go online in advance to read through the disclaimers to save time (not necessary though) 3. Definitely go with the upgrade to 2 minute sessions. It takes some time to get used to the experience and learn how to control your body. The time goes fast. I bought this as a Christmas present for our family. I hesitated on going (middle-aged mom) and just having the kids go. I'm so glad we all did it. We went first thing in the morning and then went to breakfast afterwards. okay let's start with why I gave it four stars and not five. so while calling for info I end up booking the experience. I wasn't expecting to book so early so I booked for nine people about five to six days prior to the day. The guy who I was on the phone with told me I have 48 hours in advance to do any changes The website also says 48 hours. so I called within 48 hours and to my surprise that did not apply to groups of five or more. I needed two weeks! I didn't even book it two weeks in advance so I could not get my refund because only seven people were going out of nine. so of course I was out of $120 and pissed off. I also needed to change the location. The sales guy for all three location Victor, called me and change my location unfortunately could not do anything about the refund but assured me we would have a good time and that the other two times will go to one of us. Thanks Victor. So.. we get there I have a party of six other girls all 18 and one 12-year-old. first thing I noticed was everyone was so nice and all of the men there were fine! lol that had nothing to do with this but they were very attractive guys. Mark was our flight instructor and he made sure we had so much fun he was great during the education part he didn't make anyone feel uncomfortable or scared. The other two flights went to the birthday girl and one of her friends to get a third go around. it sounds like 2 minutes isn't a lot of time but it definitely is especially for first-time flyers. The birthday girl also got the extra flight to go up extra high. The girls talked about it almost all the way back home to Milwaukee. I can't wait to book my next flight. the experience was amazing. they even have virtual reality so it looks like you're flying in a different scenery. So I came here two years ago for my birthday and had a wonderful experience! From the front desk to my instructor, it was so much fun. Everyone was so friendly and laid back. So I thought it would be a good idea to take my father he was in town visiting. We rode in separate cars and my father and middle sister arrived first. They called me upset because they said there was an employee there that seemed racist and that they wanted a refund. I told them to relax, I'll be there soon you're probably just over reacting. Mind you they never said who or where the man worked at the time they just said "there's a guy working here who's rude and racist" once I arrived I immediately knew who they were talking about. I walked in with my mom and baby sister (all wearing masks) walked up to the desk and spoke to the man behind it (who did not speak back) I proceeded to tell him "my party is already here, we're not flying. My father is" He literally yelled "im going to need you to step behind the line NOW" I said "excuse me" in a tone that let him know I was not for it. Then his tune changed "oh you're not flying come right on in" a Caucasian party of maybe 6 came in right behind us, (some wearing masks, some not) overstepped his precious line, they were greeted with a smile etc. He didn't yell for them to back up, they were treated like actual humans. Once I got in I described the man to my sister (old, short, balding Caucasian) and asked her was he the one she was referring to. She stated that once they got there the same man also raised his voice at them, barely acknowledged them and was incredibly rude but was extremely nice to all of the Caucasians that came in behind them. I told my family to just brush it off we're here to enjoy ourselves. Soooo finally once my father had his two flights (I paid for 3) I went to the instructor and asked him about the 3rd flight and he stated "first of all we already discussed this, he had two flights at 1.5 minutes instead of 3 1min flights" he proceeded to speak to me like I was a child in the snottiest tone he could muster up and was incredibly rude himself, to the point where my father stepped in to intervene. I never got loud or changed my tone. This was a terrible experience and if your of African American descent I suggest you spend your money elsewhere. Aside from the horrible experience that I had I'd like to point out the guy working behind the desk was so nice and sweet and patient. This was on 8/1/21 at the 3:30 flight so if he happens to see this I want to thank him for being the best pet of our day there. Other than that I'll never patron this location again. read more

The staff here is as exceptional as the experience. From purchase to check in to gear up to flight, everyone was friendly and helpful. Make reservations in advance. So popular they can not handle walkins during busy days. It seemed like all instructors are very good. Ours was Victor, and I would highly recommend him. His instructions were clear. Friendly.
