Even though I didn't fly myself, everyone who was at iFLY for the experience was smiling from ear to ear. Check in was friendly, although a bit confusing between the online ordering and the additional options that were being offered upon arrival. In addition to the safety video to watch at home, the instructor was very thorough with what to do and the different hand signals since there wouldn't be any talking once inside the tunnel prior to the fly. After suiting up and the instructions, the fun began. I think this is the one time in life when a minute doesn't fly by. There was an option to add more fly time at the end too. The finale includes the instructor showing off with a couple minutes of cool stunts. The option for video is a must for remembering this extra special experience. If you do love it, a special is offered to buy packages at steep discounts that never expire. Overall I can see why people would love this experience and would come back for more. Came here with my sisters and a friend. Check in process was smooth. Our friend was running late and they were very accommodating with moving our time slot to a little later. When signing their waver online there's also an instructional video that you can watch ahead of time so you can learn the positioning and hand signals, etc. Ladies need to keep their hair tied/in a braid to prevent your hair from flying everywhere. They provided hair ties which was nice. There's an option to pay to go do higher flights. They give you suits and helmets and you have to keep your phone and bags in a locker. Our instructor was Thomas and he was very thorough with the instructions before we went in the contraption. It was so much fun! I thought I would get butterflies while flying but it wasn't like that at all. It didn't feel scary and I was totally giddy during my turn. Your instructor will give you a cool show at the end and they give you a certificate after with your name at the end of it. Made us want to actually try the real deal and go sky diving. Took my daughter here as a part of her spring break surprises. She had a wonderful time learning how to skydive. It is a bit on the pricey side but it was worth it. The instructors are friendly and patient. if you want to go high, they charge an extra $20. They also charge for media which I purchased but is not needed since you can record it on your phone; so I wasted $25. Also, they give a certificate once you finish the stimulation. So, you want to learn how to skydive in about an hour? Then iFLY is the place for you! After making reservations via their website, I arrived at the Rosemount, Illinois iFLY on a Sunday afternoon. The reservation includes flight class and two, one-minute flights in their simulator. The classroom portion consists of flight suit fittings and learning hand signals from the instructors to utilize in the very noisy simulator. You are then escorted to the simulator to begin your skydive training. The instructors are very professional and are able to assist everyone regardless of their flight knowledge and/or age. This class session ages ranged from 12 to about 60 years of age. The first flight consists of getting your body adjusted to the wind from the jet engine used to power the simulator and gaining control of your body in order to control your movements. The second flight is more comfortable as you are able to fly more freely and are less nervous than before. Knowledge of the hand signals is vital as you cannot hear anything but the wind inside of the simulator. You are given a certificate at the end of the class showing that you are now a certified inside sky diver. My daughter first tried iFly pre pandemic and thought it was the coolest. She wanted to take her bestie for a special bday "experience" and iFLY was the winner. The entire experience is about 1.5 hours from suiting up, to learning to fly to actually flying and getting a flight certificate. However, we spent a total of 2 min (2 flights) in the air. IMO it's super expensive for the amount of flying time and only something I'd do for special occasions, but the girls were really happy. I typically don't love heights (I'm a bunny hill girl when it comes to skiing), but felt very safe in the capable hands of our instructor and we were only 5-6 ft off the ground. Thrillseekers can do some high flights for an additional $20, which my daughter is begging to do next time. While 60 seconds for a flight seems relatively short when you're in it it actually felt like the perfect amount of time. I think I can check this off my bucket list for one and done, but have a feeling my kids will be back! read more

Took my 14 and 18 year old here as a birthday present. They liked it! It takes a bit of time before you actually get to fly... There's a lot of instruction, plus all the people in your group get to fly too, so there's a lot of waiting around. Both kids had 2 chances to fly for about a minute or 2. So upsetting and frustrating to have experienced up close how customer service is NON-EXISTENT in this business... Especially since it is far from cheap especially in today's current economic crisis $1300 which after the way we were treated by the manager we were willing to leave and let them keep there money and go some place else... We went to celebrate my grandsons birthday yesterday and worked diligently with the party reservations rep Ericka to only find out upon arrival how NOTHING we were told was correct. Ericka was so worried about us not having 13 kids a week prior but when we told her a week prior we have 15 she said they would be added once we arrived... Well that was definitely NOT THE CASE... Two of my grandchildren 9yo and 4yo were not allowed to participate at all because we were misinformed on being able to add extra flyers upon arrival. My son drove 2.5 hours just to get there so round trip 5 hours to have his 2 children crying during the whole experience...So needless to say it went downhill from there. My grandkids were bawling at finding out they could not have fun with their cousin on his 14th birthday. The Manager a rather rude portly gentleman who possessed absolutely no guest recovery skills or training whatsoever to resolve the issue at hand and without hesitation or sympathy for the situation he denied us any viable solutions other than to wait 5 hours to let the 2 kids fly or have my son drove another 5 hours roundtrip to come back next week... We were also told by Ericka if we needed extra pizzas we could order the day of which was also more misinformation. We had to order ourselves and go pick them up because the pizza subcontractor Bacci Pizza refused to deliver 3 extra pizzas along with the original delivery. A huge disappointment due to the huge disconnect between the reservations department and boots on the ground manager/staff at the actual location itself in Rosemont. Please be careful when booking any event here because the only answer the management staff has when something wasn't what we were informed is "it was in the contract" so make sure you take your laptop to read the fine print because you definitely need a magnifying glass to see all these important details on your phone Needless to say we will not be returning again much less be recommending this place to anyone... read more

We planned an 8th grade field trip here & told the process would be simple & fluid. Instead, it turned into a month long nightmare the waivers not being accepted. Eventually the communication Team at Ifly told us do not worry, we did a great job and everything will "work out" Unfortunately on the day of the field trip we were met at the door with complete hostility & unprofessionalism by Jason, the manager. He not only told us 25+ waivers were incomplete but it was "our fault" we didn't finish them. The manager had 103 students wait for 45 minutes in the lounge & go through every waiver to make sure they were acceptable. This inevitably cut our promised field trip activities short. Worse, yet, most of the waivers were actually completed, but the manager was looking at an old list. Nevertheless, we received no apology. At one point, the manager acknowledged the waiver process was a complete mess. I mentioned they should have explained this before we committed to this field trip + thousands of dollars which our students worked hard fundraising. His response was astoundingly poor: "Why would I tell you that? If you knew, you never would have come. That's why we don't tell you this until after you sign the contract." I understand when there are mistakes being made, but to compound it with such a combative and unprofessional manager is ridiculous. Never again at this place. read more

I took my son here for his 12th birthday and he had an awesome time. From signing in to getting your fly certificate it was about 2 hours that was due to it being a busy Sunday on Easter. Scotty was my sons trainer and you could tell he loved what he does. Very enthusiastic and made it fun not to mention his talent, when he put on a show for the fliers.My son was hesitant about going high at first but after watching a few people i was able to talk him into it. Honestly I think it's a very cool place experience but super pricey for the 1 min fly. I lucked up and found a Groupon for 2 flights for like 89 dollars which was a steal but for those paying full price and multiple children whoa! Came in here with our camp. We were over 100 campers plus additional counselors and staff. We were scheduled to start at 10 a.m. and finish around 1:45 p.m. I couldn't believe the efficiency they had. They organized us into groups and the kids were in different groups. Some were in lab, some were in the class and some in pre-flight class. We did the one minute flight and everything was really great. Yes, there were some bumps, but that's expected with any large group. Manager, Daniel, and his staff were really welcoming and accommodating to our group since we had specific requests. We ended up finishing at 1:50! So it worked out wonderful. With the experience I got from this trip, I'd love to plan another trip soon. read more

I was always curious about this activity and it was different than expected. First of all your flight is 60 seconds. The first time you do it is going to be 60 seconds of adjustments, so not incredibly enjoyable. Most of the 60 seconds the instructor is holding you with these grips on the side of your suit. You are not doing flips or floating on your own. It is an experience, but not what i thought. A tip, bring someone along who is not doing it so they can take photos. read more

I bought a gift card for my brother recently for iFLY. Neither of us had been there before, so it was a gamble. The gamble paid off, though, as both he and I had a blast! I'd recommend bring a non-flying guest with you to capture pictures and video. The photos and video they allow you to purchase are okay, but not great. (Also, why pay for photos when you can take them yourself?) The actual flying looked so neat. I, unfortunately, chickened out and didn't get to experience it. My brother loved it (even though he realized he had a fear of heights during the high fly we added to his flight). The instructor made everyone feel comfortable and safe. I really enjoyed my experience at iFLY. When we went people of all ages were flying. There were a lot of young kids probably only 5 to 7 years old and up. We also had two people in our group that appeared to be 75 years old! I was shocked that these two elderly people were not afraid of having a heart attack, but they did fantastic and really enjoyed it! So clearly this is a great activity for all ages. I, however, would not let my grandma go. The instructors were very nice and really do care about your safety. There is no need to be nervous because the ground is a net and you are wearing a helmet in case you were to hit a wall. I feel it would be very hard to hurt yourself doing this. As mentioned in many other posts, definitely pay the extra $10 to go "higher." You feel like you are going extremely fast when this happens. Although it was only 2 1 minute flights, I don't know if I would care to go any longer than 1 minute each time since it is a lot of wind hitting your face. My recommendation is to find a coupon either on their Facebook, Groupon, website, etc. Places like these always have some sort of deal if you are patient enough. My one compliant is the reception desk staff were not that helpful. Our Groupon package came with a video and when we asked about it they said the instructor would explain it. The instructor never spoke about the video but we assumed the video was getting to watch yourself right after you went while waiting for the other flyers. It turns out you can actually have the video or snapshots if you go online and somehow purchase it with your Groupon. No one explained this to us and we only found out because we asked the front desk again on our way out. So a lot of people probably never get their videos if they are not offering up this information. read more

My siblings and I got gift vouchers for ifly a few years ago and never got to use them until I gave my boyfriend a voucher for graduation. I am so glad I did. We made our reservation online ahead of time and got the first time slot of the day ( I had gotten advice to do this so your slot doesn't get pushed back) . We got there an hour early, as it says it requires, and my only complaint is that we waited around for about 15/20 minutes and it seemed that we could've gotten there later. But that is a small detail. Our instructor's name was Sam and he was amazing. He had logged tons of hours diving in the tunnel and outdoors and was clearly a very experienced diver. He was clear and straightforward with instructions and helped us have a lot of fun despite our inexperience. He also did some amazing tricks once we were done diving and we were extremely impressed. We each had two flights that lasted one minute each. It sounds short but it seems like a solid amount of time once you're in there. You can also pay $10 on your second one to go much higher in the tunnel for about 20 seconds. Sounds not worth it but it was totally worth it.
