Long ass wait but it's chill got to wait with my shawty. Food was scrumptious. I love pancakes!

For Christmas, my mother-in-law gave me a gift card to IHOP. Since I don't normally eat there and there aren't too many locations left in the area, my husband and I decided to use it this morning for a New Year's breakfast on our way back from dropping our unused crap off at Goodwill (no, none of it was holiday gifts!). I guess everyone else and their kids had the same idea this morning. The place was packed. Since it was only a fifteen-minute wait for the two of us, we decided to stay. We stood around awkwardly in the middle of the waiting area until our names were called. I think we waited less than fifteen minutes! We had a clean table, a very friendly waitress, and our food (salads and french fries) was surprisingly delicious. The french fries had the perfect seasoning. We ate everything in sight. The reason for the review: we were really impressed with the way the staff managed the large crowd of people waiting to eat/eating/leaving. They were very efficient with taking names, quoting times, and announcing people over a little speaker thingy. Everyone had a smile on their faces and the manager gave us a very lovely farewell. Last night's dinner rated 1 star. I left disappointed that we chose IHOP. We arrived at 5:30pm. The place had very few diners at that time. They were out of minestrone soup. No big deal, it happens. When our dinners arrived, my husband noticed that his turkey dinner did not have any stuffing on the plate. For him, a turkey dinner is all about the stuffing. We called the server over. He said something like 'Oh, yea, I think last night we ran out of stuffing. Let me go check.' He comes back and says 'We are out of stuffing. Would you like something else on the menu?' What irked us was that the cook sent out the plate knowing that it was missing stuffing. So now my husband had to order something else and wait for it while I ate my dinner. We felt like they were trying to pull one over on us. Plus it was no fun for me to eat by myself while they prepared the scrambled egg plate that my husband chose as his replacement. He ordered toast instead of pancakes. Ten minutes later his food comes out with a plate of 3 pancakes, no toast. Oh, for crying out loud. I don't think we will come back to this restaurant for awhile. read more

I came solo around 10:30 p.m. after a movie. The service was really good, my drink (Splashberry...yum!) Was refilled promptly several times, my food came out good. I am always pleasantly surprised when a restaurant can get poached medium eggs done right the first time without me having to send it back. I got the strawberry banana pancakes which were good (very sweet, no need for additional syrup, just like I like it) with hash browns, bacon, sausage and eggs. Everything was delicious. All in all they did a good job. I've been to IHOPs that just SUCK but this one is GOOD! I also LOVE their new menu! There are great pictures of almost every option, which really helps when you're not quite sure what you want. read more

This was one of the worst places I have ever been too, waited 45 min to speak to a manager after placing our food order. Once manager came, he had a nasty attitude and saying he only had five cooks in the kitchen and a lot of orders. No one came to check on us after order was placed and the food was not that good either. There seemed to be several customers experiencing the same service. We will never visit that IHOP again. read more

The staff here are awesome. Great attitudes, fast and accurate service. There were lots of family's/larger groups of people waiting to be seated prior to our arrival. Upon asking, we were told that it would be about a 30 minute wait until we would be seated. We wound up waiting less than 15 minutes as people seemed to be seated quickly. Our waitress was great. She was very attentive to our needs and interacted well with both my husband and I, as well as our children. She was great. The food was good. What you'd expect from an IHOP. Everything came out hot, the pancakes were a favorite amongst us all. We ordered the chocolate chocolate chip pancakes with whip cream and chocolate chip pieces sprinkled all over the warm plate. The chocolate chips were your standard milk chocolate pieces. My husband ordered the strawberry pancakes and enjoyed every bite of his warm pancakes and fresh sweet strawberries. He said he'd order it again. I had the country fried steal and it was ok. Nothing to write home about. Overall, the staff really contributed to our having a four star experience. We'd definitely not only come back but also recommend this IHOP franchise to other people with families or large groups looking to have a good breakfast served quickly by a great group of people. read more

IF you dine inside, the California Turkey Melt Sandwich on multi-grain bread seems to be fairly consistent and is a tasty sandwich; however, the Lemon Ricotta Blueberry Crepes are not. One time they filled them with sour cream (wrong recipe) inadvertently because they were out of Lemon Ricotta! Of course, no one told the Manager they were short of product. On other occasions, they put Ligonberries on top and then weeks later when you are expecting Ligonberries, the Blueberries re-appeared. Note: After they are made, the standard has been to put a swirl of Lemon Ricotta on TOP of the crepes and then put the Blueberries over that. Our carry-out this week was poor. The Crepes had very little Lemon Ricotta filling and were FLAT. They put the Blueberries in a separate container and NO swirl of Lemon Ricotta on top of the Crepes. The Cali Turkey Melt was mediocre. What about consistency, IHOP??? When you dine inside at least the restaurant is well maintained. read more

My order came pretty quickly. Everything looked and tasted really good. Server was smiling all the time. Overall it's a nice place with amazing food for a good price. You should definitely try it. I liked their waffles and hot chocolate. The employees here are fully engaged with every customer that walks through the door, very attentive, polite, respectful and receptive to the needs of their customers. I did not see one employee member without a smile on their face. The food service was fast, made well, and the drinks were mindfully refilled. It is located in a beautiful area and a great place to bring the family for a meal. You will not be disappointed. read more

May 21St 2017 So I took my mother and girlfriend here and was pretty surprised as I have herd such good things about this IHop. first when we got there we we're sat at a Booth that I thought was meant for 2 as there was 2 place settings on it. Later on I found that all the booths we're that small. The silverware plates and glass wear was clean except for water spots. So we get our drinks and my girlfriend attempted to flag down the waitress at the table next to us for some lemon to put in her ice tea. Some how she still managed to ignore us as my girl is waving at her saying excuse me miss. The table litteraly calls her her back when she is walking away from them and again she just continued to igonore us. Finally a bus boy came by and my girlfriend was able to get some lemon for her ice tea. So our food comes out with reasonable speed and we had to send the Bacon back because it looked like it was just seared and then plated. When it came back it was much better. So I got the breakfast sampler which kinda sub par for me but I gusse it depends on how you like you food. My sausage links were cold and did not have a lot of flavor. The hash browns were crispy all the way through and lacked any moisture. The eggs we're actually very good and flavorful. The pancakes were very bland which was surprising for something that is there namesake, and I believe somebody put salt in all the syrups as the were all salty rather than sweet. My Bacon was chewy and raw until it got sent back and even then tasted like greese without flavor. Our drinks did not get refreshed during our visit and it seemed like we we're kinda forgotten about. The atmosphere was incredibly low but seeing as this it a family restaurant I won't hold that against them. So my breakdown of this is 4 out of 5 for cleanliness 2.5 out of 5 for food looks 2 out of 5 for food taste 1 out of 5 for service I will end up trying it again as I feel maybe this was just a bad time. Everything here tastes OK but this is a place I like to go to because it's 24 hours the food they probably make best is fried food but it's not really hard to mess that up their pancakes are nice but they're always a little too dry for me and I would never recommend getting a steak here this place is average food for an average price read more

Came here after a movie on a Tuesday afternoon. Beware. Their sweet iced tea tasted old/sour. My son's lemonade tasted more like water that has sat out on the counter for a few days. No sweetness at all. Not even a taste of lemon. My requested over medium eggs came with the yolk solid. My sons chicken strips were very dry and hard to bite. We had to ask the server for butter for his waffle and received a small ketchup cup worth. The server was pleasant, but you can tell she didn't want to be there. read more

I really enjoy eating at IHOP on Lake Street in Illinois. It's nice and clean. Whatever I have ordered has always been good. The Potato Cheese is my favorite. Good flavor, nice and thick and filling. Also, I like their many breakfast choices. read more

The hours of my schedule are not the hours of the average human being. Saying that I'm a night owl would be putting it lightly. Despite all the advantages of being active from dusk til dawn, food options are not one of them. During these hours, the only hot meal you can generally get would be some kind of dreck like McDonald's. It's at this time where the International House of Pancakes comes in to save the day. Tons of options, spanning all the meals of the day, are available. It's great for someone like me, who is weird and will sometimes eat food from the different meals of the day, i.e., getting a bowl of soup as an appetizer to my omelette and pancakes. The customer service at this location is terrific; even when they're slammed, they always take care of you. A few times that I've gone, one of the late night servers will bring out some hot syrup to go along with your pancake combo. And if sitting in and eating isn't your thing, you can always call in for some IHOP-n-go and put in a pickup order for yourself. As long as they keep their exceptional hours, I will continue to frequent this fine establishment. read more

Mitch Hedberg said, "You can't be like pancakes. You're all happy at first but then by the end you're sick of them." I think he was thinking about IHOP. They have the best buttermilk pancakes, but once I get through three quarters of a stack I feel like having my stomach pumped. Maybe it's because I eat them so fast. The regular food at IHOP is decent, but not the best. IHOP is probably best for having breakfast for dinner. A huge breakfast at IHOP, like a pancake platter that comes with eggs and sausage, or something bigger like a chicken fried steak breakfast with a side of pancakes, are a great gut busting meal, but if you have it for breakfast you might as well take the rest of the day off. I started this review thinking I was going to bitch about how this location isn't open 24 hours, but that must have changed in the last few years. The website says otherwise. So in case you're out drinking in the western 'burbs, and you don't feel like dealing with all the goths, LARPers and jr. high kids at Denny's you can probably get by on IHOP. They have good coffee, too. I forgot to mention... IHOP (at least this location) got rid of one of the best desserts they had: the apple crisp. I heart weekend breakfast excursions. The only thing I dislike are the massive crowds, but the wait was only about 10 minutes (around 10am today/on Saturday). The young guy (didn't get his name) who seated us was friendly. Stephanie was our server. She was prompt, friendly, and attentive. The first thing she did after our coffee orders was to fill up the sugar dish. We each did the Build Your Own ($8.50) with pancakes (me) or crepes (him) - 2 eggs, hashbrowns, and 2 bacon or sausage. This dilly included specialty pancakes (i.e. chocolate chocolate, nutty, cheesecake, blueberry, and at least 5 other options...) - I went with regular pancakes and he got crepes with strawberry compote. Stephanie brought put ketchup and hot sauce prior to our food arriving. She also checked on us and even rang through our check at the end (oopsies, we should have gone to the register)! I hope the +1 left a good tip. The food came out hot and was actually pretty darn tasty! The portions, especially hashbrowns, were pretty large in my opinion. I cleaned my plates and felt full, but not overly stuffed. Perfect. It seems like the prices have slightly increased since I was last in an IHOP a year or two ago. There was a larger wait when we left, so if you arrive around 11am-ish, keep that in mind. They DO have a PA system to announce when your party's ready to be seated. I know people are probably why I am wondering why I gave this place 5 stars. First of all this location has an excellent server named Cassie. I promised her I would fill out the survey but I tragically lost my receipt. So I am here to say Cassie ... You are awesome. We moved from our original table because the left side of the restaraunt was very humid and uncomfortable. So we moved to the opposite side and Cassie remained out waitress. We so so appreciative to her for taking car of us even though she had to run around on both sides. Second of all the pancakes here are the best. You can't find a satisfying meal like this anywhere for the price. It was quick even on Father's Day when it was very busy we were probably only there about one hour. Love it love it love. read more

I very much love IHOP. My family has gone there for quite a while, and have almost never been disappointed. We usually go in the later hours, and have never been treated any worse than if we'd showed up at prime dinner hour. Our service is always good, and I can't say I've waited more than a couple minutes for a refill or drink order. The food's been consistently good, nothing spectacular, but never bad. Even our one half-disappointment was just the absence of ice cream in a desert dish, and even then it was pretty good. Overall, definitely a frequenter. Our last trip there really brought it up in my books, though. At about one in the morning, they turned off the lights in half the joint because no one was seated there, to conserve power. It didn't ruin the environment, and you could still have a perfectly good conversation. We were there for three more hours after they turned the lights off, and were no worse for wear because of it. read more

All of my breakfast was done to perfection, served hot from the kitchen. Even their coffee was good. Most IHOPs are hit or miss,depending on the neighborhood. The service was very slow. We ate here around noon and it was still very crowded. We waited less than 15 minutes for a table and they seemed well staffed. However, our server was friendly, only not very available. Our food, while delicious, took an awfully long time. Onto the good- The menu is large, but organized well. I appreciate that there are so many simple fit options available for those not trying to eat 1800 calories in a single meal. The turkey bacon and turkey sausage are must haves (seriously) and the whole wheat pancakes are fluffy and flavorful. I just love IHOP! After the one on North Avenue closed, I started coming to this one and it's just as good. Great service, the staff is always sweet and polite, very attentive without hovering and they always bring me all kinds of syrup warmed up! The food is delicious! I love their pancakes! You just can't go wrong with them! Always fluffy and I love their combinations, especially the ones with fresh fruit! I don't drink coffee (I know, what's wrong with me?!), but for those who do they always pay attention to your cup, keeping it fresh filled! This IHOP was very busy on a Saturday morning. When we left there were even a couple families waiting to be seated. The service was average, the food was what I expected at an IHOP, and the price was ok. I had a Ultimate Bacon and Sausage combo with Blueberry Cheesecake waffle. My wife had a strawberry crepe. Anyways, the portion size for the money was kind of small. Everything looks big pictured in the menu but the plates seemed small in real life. The worst! In on a Wednesday, maybe 10 people total in the entire restaurant. Took 10 mins for server to arrive. Another 10 mins for her to bring coffee which she did with no cream, sugar or anything. Asked for it and she disappeared. Asked another server near by 10-15 mins later if they could bring us cream and sugar and it took him all of 30 seconds. Another 20 mins for her to take our order. Simple breakfast took almost 30mins to arrive and it did so almost Ice cold. Informed her of how cold our food was and Asked her to microwave it and she was gone almost another 10 mins. I was in the area...and wow, IHOP, hadn't had that for a while, so I thought, hey, they're always good for a nice breakfast. Yeaaa, not so much. First off, it was COLD COLD COLD in there. Two employees told me the heat is broken. Um, it's under ZERO at night. And not very warm during the day, either---me, if that was my business, I'd close until my heat was fixed, but that's me. STRIKE ONE. I hate eating cold and with a coat on. Strike two was when my food came crusted with dried food from the prior meal, um WHAAAAAAAAAT yuck. I can see nobody cares so I will just not eat that part of the meal. How do you not see that? Strike three-Ran out of drink and couldn't get a refill until I had to walk to the counter and ask myself, to be filled by another server, other than my own. I hate eating with no drink, and I'd been out for a good while. They whip the check at you then never come back to check on you. Don't forget the tip! (see below) Then, to have the waiter hovering as I gathered my paper for his tip like a dog waiting for a bone was crazy. I'm like "don't worry, you're getting a tip". WOW. Then when I paid up front he was there again waiting. Not a pleasant experience, and if this is why there are few IHOP's around and very few (like 2 other tables) customers here, I get it! Went yesterday for breakfast after the club. Maybe I shouldn't expect 5-star service at 3:30am, but I do. This isn't the first time I'd come here late/early with friends. But last night I had crappy service. After seating immediately after walking thru the second set of doors, it took 20 minutes to be greeted, followed by drink/food order. This review is for a to-go order so I have no experience with the waitstaff though the manager that gave me my order was extremely nice and went through the bag with me to confirm everything was correct. But in terms of food, FIVE HUGE STARS. We saw they were really pushing their burgers so we got some to try and they were hands down amazing. I got the Big Brunch burger and my husband got the Jalapeño Kick burger and we both are looking forward to trying some other ones soon. I'm sure they will be just as great. Also big bonus, we got our to-go order and ran into Walmart so it was probably close to 30 minutes after we got our food that we ate it and the burgers still tasted hot and fresh so that was awesome. read more

I always read reviews of restaurants before I go. When I read reviews for this location, they were above average, so I figured that this location was good. I was so wrong! Our server name was Keisha. She was just ok...average. My daughter ordered the mozzarella cheese sticks. They were overcooked. When she bit into it, the middle was hollow. Both my son and daughter ordered the chicken strips with fries. The strips were small and they did not get a lot of fries. I ordered the steak and eggs. The steak was horrible! Did not taste like a steak at all! It was dry and rubbery. I spoke to the manager and she took the steak off my bill. The only thing that tasted good were the pancakes. I don't understand why the restaurant have above average reviews when their food is obviously below average. They have the worst cooks! My daughter could e went back there and done a better job. 2 stars only because it wasn't Keisha's fault that the food was bad! read more

Found a hair on my sandwich. Was very disappointed and obviously didn't eat it. My husband who also had one decided not to finish his since he was grossed out (Can't blame him). We took the food back to the restaurant and requested a refund. The manager was very confrontational and he only wanted to give me half of the refund since the other sandwich didn't have a hair even though half of the sandwich was there.
